Please help! Puppy mills are everywhere and are a major threat to our society. Oprah, I watch you every day, and am a huge dog lover. You have no idea how much this would mean to me for you to help us out!
Oprah, This is tragic and needs to be stopped. Please do a show and have some top breeders Nationwide come onto your show, so they can tell the world what is going on.
Oprah,I think if you read the comments from #5487 Patricia Breen, this speaks volumes. I have watched you for many years and know you will do what you can to help. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
Take a look in the eyes of a puppy mill dog and you will find such sadness...until the right person comes along and gets them out of those conditions, puppy mill dogs spend all of their lives breeding until they become to old to breed anymore...then of course they get sold to someone for few more bucks to start the process all over again to buy another breeder to use and abuse for their own pocketbook...Dogs are meant to be companions and family memebers, not to be used and abused...
I have experienced first hand what happens to these poor creatures. In my years of doing rescue work I have come across mill dogs with horrific health issues caused by inbreeding, overbreeding and breeding them too young.
I adopted a Pomeranian rescued from a puppy mill in MO. He was lucky, as he only spent 7 months stuck in a filthy cage, with his tiny feet having never touched fresh grass - only cold chicken wire. When I picked Freddie Fox up from his foster parent, his coat was short, dry and broken off and he was requiring surgery for luxated patellas... a condition acquired from poor breeding. He currently is a happy boy with a beautifully full coat and cheerful disposition, but the Cinderella stories are all too few. People need to be enlightened about the "chamber of horrors" that exists in this industry and why this practice must be stopped! If you have ever spent time with a pet, you know that they understand and display love, fear, anxiety, hate, and communicate better than most humans, though non-verbally. Please Oprah, please shed some light on the terrible abuse of animals. I don't think anyone has any idea how ugly the industry has become!
Puppy Mills, and online dog auctions have no place in our society. This is a tragic ongoing situation that needs to be continually exposed until public pressure corrects this terrible problem
Oprah, please help with this cause, you are a very admired personality, and a show on this would reach many people and get them informed on the deplorable conditions these poor animals live in. Thank You
You are in a position to raise public awareness and educate people about the atrocities of puppy mills. They're awful for the dogs and they often result in problems for the purchasers.
Oprah-There are thousands of dogs destroyed every day in shelters in the U.S., because there are just too many dogs and not enough responsible adopters. Back yard breeders and puppy mills just add to this problem. People need to be educated on the difference between responsible breeders and backyard breeders/puppy mills. Most rescuers are not against reputable breeders, it is the puppy mills and backyard breeders that we oppose nnot only because of the suffering of the dogs being used in these mills, but the suffering that results from the overpopulation caused by the mills. The focus of the show can be positive if it includes coverage of the many many rescuers out there who sacrifice so much in the name of dog rescue.
Puppy mills are a hidden tragedy. Exposing them would be a wonderful help to eliminating the need for shelters, rescue groups and countless unnecessary dog deaths every year. Let the truth be known and people can decide for themselves. My daughter rejected a puppy at a pet store because of it's health problems only to encounter the same puppy at a later time in a rescue organization. Puppy mills should be made illegal with very stiff penalties.
Dear Oprah,
I know you are a dog lover, and thus this issue will break your heart. I personally, with my own funds, purchased a puppy mill in my state that was producing dogs of the breed I love and rescue. I was worth every penny I spent to remove the dogs from their horrible living conditions and prevent it from happening to other innocent puppies. Your attention to the issue would do more to educate the public than our years and years of work. Thank you for considering our plea!
Day after day, each one the same
another year older, a little more lame
left out in the weather with little protection
my body is sore and hot with infection
in the freezing cold or the searing heat
with nothing but wire beneath swollen feet
my food bowl is empty, my water dish dry
What did I do?? please tell me,why?
the litters come and the litters go
where do they take them? I don't know...
is this a bad joke? or a horrible game?
I have no home, not even a name
no one to love me, no one to care
no one to bathe me and brush my hair
my teeth are rotting, my eyes are encrusted
where are the people to whom I'm entrusted?
I cry every night...so afraid, don't you see?
could this be the life God intended for me?
someone, speak for me, I am losing my will
take me out of this hell called a puppymill...
When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another. -- Helen Keller
These voiceless sentient beings that share this planet with us need your powerful and influential voice. The inhumane horrors of this industry need to be exposed.
Oprah, I am a retired Reg. Nurse - no kid. I know how you love your pups. Please look into this. If you look with your heart, I know you will want to do this expose. Think about it, what do you really have to lose.
These poor animals do not deserve this treatment. Unknowingly I purchased a a beautiful Bassett Hound from a pet store. My dear Morgan met the rainbow bridge blind and in total kidney failure due to such bad breeding.
PLEASE I beg your help, you can reach and educate so many people about the tragedies of puppy mills...I volunteer at my local animal shelter and have seen first hand some of the sick puppies/dogs that are the product of puppy mills...it is truly heartbreaking!!
Dear Oprah,
I have watched your show forever. Your show has a difference in so many human lives. Please take this opportunity to make a difference in the four legged animal community. You have a voice, and with that voice, the power to facilitate change. Please..please help put an end to this travesty.
Oprah, if you love your dogs, if you care about innocent animals, please, please bring attention to this problem. You have more clout with something like this than anyone every could. I beg you.
With all the other stuff going on in the world this may seem petty (no pun intended!!) but if we treat animals decently then we will create a more loving world.
Oprah's show is adored by a diverse group of people in this country. Exposing puppy mills on this show would be such a huge victory for these poor pups everywhere.
Opera, I am not a teenager by any sense of the word. I am a senior citizen, and I still think these animals need to be protected. I just lost my baby of 15 yrs, and I have been crying for over a week. Help these poor little guys, they deserve it. Thank you
PLease help these animals be heard. They only want and give unconditional love. Please help them be heard. You are the one person that can do it.Oprah speaks people listen.
Thank you, Teri

I rescue American Eskimo dogs, and with few exceptions, the adults are traumatized for life. The pups do not get sufficient medical examinations or vaccinations.
Please-if you need a puppy, go to the ASPCA or a private breeder. There is no excuse to support neglectful, abusive puppy mills. they destroy animals spirits
We know how much Oprah cares about her animals...and cares about the downtrodden. Here is a perfect opportunity for her to expose the puppymills and help millions of dogs and humans around the country...humans who don't know the damage they are doing by purchasing dogs from pet stores...who are inbred, sick, have congenital defects and on and on and one...PUPPY MANUFACTURERS WHO SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS FOREVER!!!
Dear Oprah, I have watched your show from the beginning. I was even in Winterset, Iowa when you did your show from there for "The Bridges of Madison County". You are a very intelligent and wonderful person. If you can take on and best the cattle industry, then there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to help educate the public about the travesties occuring at puppy mills and backyard breeders throughout this country! Having worked in Animal Shelters, I have not only seen first hand the conditions that these animals live in, but the results of these horrible conditions on the animals themselves. It would break your heart to see a 3 year old cocker spaniel who has been bred constantly from her first heat cycle, not given a clean and healthy environment to live in, not enough food/water and little to no health care....and this 3 year old dog looks like it should be 10!! I have seen them come into the shelter so filthy with dirt and their own waste that their fur is a hard "shell" on it's body and has to be shaved down because shampooing would do no good. These animals can't speak for themselves, they need caring people like you to bring their plight to the forefront. Please help them! They are God's creatures too and deserve better treatment than they get! Thank you and God Bless you!
Not only are pups held in inhumane, despicable conditions, but the public is led to believe pet stores buy healthy, vet checked pups. As a vet tech, I've seen way too many sick and near death pups. Please do what you can for this injustice to both canines and humans!
Please help bring these horrible places to your viewers' attention. You have a lot of influence with people and could help our cause so much. Those of us who have had first-hand experience with these horrible places will never get over it. We work very hard to help these poor little creatures enslaved in these hell holes, but we could do so much more with you as a spokeswoman. Thank you for your time.
I have been rescuing animals for almost 25 years and seen the horrors these poor animals endure just so the puppy miller can make money off of their flesh. Puppy millers are doggy pimps. This has to be made illegal in all fifty states with penalities greater than a slap on the wrist or a small fine.
