Oprah, you do so much good on your show, please show people where all these teacup puppies are coming from. Puppymills are a horrible place where animals are being mistreated for profit. Please use your voice to show people what is going on in these places. Thank you.
As a dog lover you should want to expose this issue. I recently have just become aware of it and am outraged by it. More people need to be informed and using your show is a good was to do that. People pay attention to what you have to say.
Oprah, I am affiliated with a national Cairn Terrier rescue group (there are many, MANY breed specific and non-specific rescue groups). These are wonderful people who rescue dogs from the most deplorable, ghastly, inhumane conditions you could ever imagine. The photos and stories will shock and repulse you. Some dogs are so horribly damaged physically and psychologicially, they CANNOT be saved. Puppymills MUST be exposed for the horror they are. You are just the woman to do it... PLEASE HELP. I have two male yorkies that I adopted. One was already fixed and the other one is going to be next week. There are so many dogs out there to give love there is no reason to have to mate them. ADOPT A DOG.
This is really a consumer issue as well as a humane issue. The public has a right to know about the cruelty and health issues associated with puppy mills and the Oprah Show would be an excellent vehicle to educate them. Thanks for considering it.

I know you are a dog lover. Your show is so wide-spread and would help so many of these innocent angels if you were to do a show to expose puppy mills for what they are -- pure evil. The public needs to be made aware of what is behind the adorable little pup they are purchasing from a pet store. Please Oprah, please consider giving this some serious consideration. Speak out for those that can't help themselves -- puppy mills need to be put out of business.

Dear Oprah- please help the dogs in the pet stores by letting the public know where they come from and what horrid conditions their parents have to endure during their life. The only way to stop people from buying from pet stores is to educate them!! Many people have no clue that to stop the cycle, they MUST stop patronizing the pet shops! There are THOUSANDS of ethical breeders that work very hard to plan, raise and place HEALTHY PETS! Our show dogs and breeding stock come from the same litter as the pets we sell and have the same courtesy sd being loved and cared for by people who genuinely care about their well-being. This is a passion for us and we pass that along to our dogs.
We run a rescue organization, so we see the results: females bred constantly until they can breed no more; arthritic feet from living lives in wire cages; infections that have turned chronic from never being treated; and the worst is breeding females with grade 4 knees, glaucoma, worms, brain tumors, and a variety of genetic diseases!
Dear Oprah, Please help by doing a show on the reality of puppy mills. Can you imagine spending your whole life in a small cage with your only purpose is to give birth. No outside contact except with your puppies which are often too soon taken away. We must educate people on where so many of those cute little puppies come from. Thank you in advance for all your help.

Oprah, I know you are a dog lover as we all are. I have seen your beautiful cocker spaniels on your show before. I have been a dog groomer for 12 years and involved with rescue groups for at least 5. PLEASE concider doing this show about puppy mills. So many people do not know about what goes on. The only program I have seen on TV about these horrible places was on 20/20 or dateline or something like that and it was years ago. I try to watch your show every day as many millions of others do. You are so respected by your viewers I just know they will listen to you. Please Help us get the word out. Thank you.
As a humanitarian it is the right thing to do. Dogs die every day because no one wants them yet uneducated jobless idiots lock dogs in cages to breed and it is okay in America. Please help.

Please, these puppy mills have to be stopped. All of the poor animals and what they go through is horriable. These people are monsters to do this. We have so many animals we dont know what to do with them as same as everyone else, and its all because of these puppy mills. I do Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute Rescue and 9 out of 10 dogs are from a puppy mill. PLEASE HELP.

It would be an eye opener for people to know what really goes on with animals these days. I know that if an episode about puppy mills would air, viewers around the country would be tuning in as the horrible truth about the mills is exposed. We need to educate the public, and with Oprah being so popular amongst viewers, it would certainly bring in a lot more viewers.
I expect the comment from Jacqueline Nolan will be ignored? I should imagine she has a puppy mill all of her very own and is making a fortune selling sick and dying animals. She is the kind of person that should be stopped. Or hung. Hanging is preferable actually! She calls AR people idiots? Take a look at some of the evidence Oprah and decide for yourself!!!
Please help- even if we can't stop them we can at the very least push for better living conditions, routine veterinary care and breeding age restrictions (as well as regulating how often they are bred!). Are you aware that they begin breeding these poor animals at as young as six months of age?! That means that before they are even half way through with growth, bone and joint developement and before they are even old enough to recieve all of the vaccinations that would protect them from numerous debilitating, often fatal diseases, they are bred. These dogs have lifespans of 5-6 years at best- a short painful life with crippling deformities due to cramped living spaces and improper bone development, can you imagine what the stress and weight of pregnancy does to the spine and hip development of a growing animal?? Can you imagine what it would do to a growing 7 year old child- because that is the equivalent. Use your voice to help us speak out against this disgusting industry. Your voice, unlike ours, may be loud enough that they might listen.
Dear Oprah, The topics you cover on your show help so many people. And, you inspire so many. With working in Animal Control the reality is heartbreaking to say the least. There is so much suffering & abuse within Puppy Mills, it is truly evil. These innocent animals are much like children, they are where we place them, and they depend on us to keep them safe. Please make the public aware of the suffering and help put a stop to this horror. Please be their Voice!

Oprah it would be nice to stop puppy mills. We run a wolf & wolf/dog rescue center. We have 17 at this time that we have rescued. We get them back to health then try to adopt them out to good homes.

Dear Oprah; There are many good dogs, including pure breeds, in pounds and shelters. They are being killed because few people want to adopt an adult dog. There is no reason for people to be breeding pups merely to make a fast buck with the least amount of effort. The public needs to be encouraged to adopt adult dogs. The dogs that are kept for breeding in these puppy mills are suffering and also need help.

I work for a rescue group and never knew how many good animals need a home. I've come to learn many things about puppy mills and it is something that needs to be stopped.
I've been to shelters and have seen the sadness and fright on dogs faces. You'll cry when you go in because80% or more will lose their lives. Stop this puppy mill practice now. It only ends in death

I have been doing rescue work for only about 6 months and it is so heartbreaking to see these discarded "puppy machines" that have been mistreated and then discarded at the pound when they are no longer "productive" to the puppymill breeders.
Oprah, Being the Illinois coordinator for American Brittany and knee deep in the effort to rescue just one breed, I hope you can use your tremendous influence to help expose this money making abuse of our trusting companions. I watch your show almost everyday as we have it on at work. In fact, you and Dr. Phil are the only shows in your venue that I do watch. This horrible abuse has been going on for so long and we all hope that the kind of exposure you can give it would make a lethal cut in this inhumane practice. Those of us is rescue and working in any kind of rescue endeavor want nothing more than to make the need for rescue something that no longer is needed.It is a vision indeed and one that seems insurmountable ....

I hope that this is taken seriously and the general public is shown where that cute little puppy in the Pet Store came from and the abuse that his/her Mommy and Daddy suffer daily. It is one of the true hidden injustices in our Country. We speak about everything else that used to be 'taboo'...why is this not spoken about???

I got my 1st dog at a pet store in a mall. He probably came from a puppy mill, but I cannot be sure. My 2nd dog came to me via a wonderful rescue program. What a great dog (actually, they both are)! There are too many pets out there that need good homes. Please help stop puppy mills.
There are too many good pets already available in shelters. We need to do something to stop the suffering of the puppy mill mamas, spending their short lives in 3x3 cages, producing puppies for profit and never receiving any love:(( Thanks for listening!
