The public is in serious need of educating on this very important issue and the best way to reach them is through a popular show hosted by someone they respect. Like children, animals can't speak up for themselves when they are abused and suffering. They need someone who gives a damn to do it for them. Is Oprah that person or not? It's certainly a much more important issue than Julia Roberts latest hairstyle.
For those of us who do rescue, there are calls for help daily,for dogs in crisis from cruelty to neglect. Please bring the awarness to the public about puppy mills and how horrible they realy are.
Hello Oprah, I have always admired you and what you have accomplished considering the obsticles you faced. I suffered the same type of childhood abuse and as a result I'm extremely sensitive to suffering, human and animal. These puppy mills truly need to be exposed and stopped. You have the power to bring attention to the plight of these helpless animals...please help.
Oprah, if anyone can help, it is you. Dogs are one of the most precious things on the planet, they touch so many lives with their unwavering love and loyalty. But, however, they have no voice, no way to fight against an injustice that may befall them. We need to be that voice. We need to pay them back for the love and joy that they bring to this earth. I've had dogs around me my whole life and have truly found them to be 'Man's Best Friend.' Again, please help. This is an issue that needs to be seriously addressed. I can't even begin to describe how a situation such as this breaks my heart.
I am not normally a petition signer or a do gooder, but I do think there is a large differance between a reputable breeder and a puppy mill! Some of these places need to be stopped!
Please take up this cause for the sake of all the innocent animals that must suffer because of coldhearted uncaring people that run puppy mills. Too many dogs live in deplorable conditions just so someone can make some quick $$. This is always aat the expense of the poor puppy and the new owners. Thank you

Puppy mills are one of cruelest industries on earth, much like the cruelties of the slaugherhouse industies that was shown on your show iin March 1995. By using you voice to expose this, you are again making this a better world for people as you are fighting for and saving MAN'S BEST FRIEND!!!
The unhealthy atmosphere, cruelty and abuse imposed on the animals in these places and the health of their offspring is so unnecessary! While shelters are forced to kill pets in their facilities, these money driven *humans* keep creating more. The pups that come from these places usually have medical conditions, the parents are not tested for genetic problems and yet they continue to breed. then, when the females cannot produce more, they are starved to death, shot or left to die in the woods.
Please Oprah, you have animals your self So we know your an animal lover as we are. Just picture your dogs in a puppy mill and being treated as all these poor dogs. The poor little ones
haven't had any help to be placed in good,warm,loving homes. They need all of our help. Please help them to have a warm loving life like yours and mine already do.
Oprah, please help us get the word out about the cruelty of puppymills. I know that you are understanding since you also have "fur" children.
A lot of the animals sold in pet shops or advertised in the newspapers across the nation are products of puppymillers.
These animals are bred for a profit at the expense of the animal itself. Such breeding can bring forth animals with poor health and with abnormalities, not healty pets that will be a part of the family for it's life. Lots of animals end up in animal services and if not rescued end up being uathanized.
I could get back on my soapbox about animals ending up being dumped, and otherwise thrown away when the owner gets tired of it or cannot take proper care of it.

JUST TODAY I HELD 2 LITTLE PUPPIES IN MY ARMS, FROM THE AMISH PUPPIES MILLS AND GOD HELP THESE LITTLE ONES, PLEASE HELP THE ONES WHO CAN NOT HELP THEMSELVES.. PRAY FOR THEM.
I am a volunteer & foster for Chicagoland German Shepherd Rescue. This past winter there were over 200 large breed dogs rescued from a puppy mill lady. And yet there are tens of hundred more small breed mills selling poorly developed pets to the un-educated public. Please find the time to get the message out to the public to stop the abuse and stop the unwanted pets from ending up in rescue groups or shelters.

Please, at least take a look at the amount of puppy mills in our great country and the feed to our pet stores. The general public thinks buying from a pet store is good quality!!

You do so many wonderful things with your show. Now we are asking you to expose the horror of puppymills. We got our dog from a pet store before we knew where those "puppies in the window" came from...puppymills. Now it pains me every time I look at our dog, because I see two more dogs, except they are in horrible conditions, hurting and unhealthy. It's not fair for people to go on not knowing about puppymills...you need to tell them what they must know to end puppymills!
Educating the human population about pet owning responsiblities starting with where and how the animals are bred would be a timely topic with the holidays coming.

Please reach out to your audience and educate them on not only Puppy Mills, but Spay/Neuter/Adoopt. Visit a puppy mill - it will only take one - and you will witness the horrible conditions these animals live in. Each and every one of these animals has feelings and feels pain. How would you like to live like that? If you reach only one person, it will be a success.

My friend owns a Masstiff that was rescued from the most awful conditions imaginable. He has no teeth because he kept gnawing at his cage, and he's only the size of a small Labrador due to the small confines of his cage (Mastiff's are one of the largest breeds in the canine family). Puppy mills must be exposed and stopped. Otherwise people will continue to buy from them.

Oprah, I met you many years ago with Richard Scher when I worked as the RN at the Conv. center in our city. I have watched you and seen myself in your life situations.
However, I could never have the impact you can when it comes to issues of humanity and humaneness. Please, work to expose the cruelty, inhumane treatment and undescribale pain and misery that animals who are bred by the most miserable of human(?) beings endure for profit to meet the desires of those who will do anything to get an animal to re-inforce their arrogance and disregard for LIFE.
Please get involved and quickly! to help relieve the suffering of these helpless animals. We must be their voices as we are for the voiceless in all species.
People need to know about the horrible conditions of puppy mills. The dogs are treated so inhumanely, being kept pregnant continuously and in terrible conditions just so that someone can make a profit. There are so many wonderful dogs in shelters who need homes and a second chance, mostly because their owners were jackasses who could no longer be bothered by the commitment. I'd like to see them give up there children so easily. Thousands of dogs are put to death on a daily basis. Something needs to be done.
just think of how many wonderfull loving animals are dying from being abused and then being sent to a animal shelter and have to be killed because no one wants them. it saddens me deeply that people can hurt animals like that and then the die thinking nobody ever loved them. please adopt and save a life!

You have so much influence on our ideas and day to day life. These dogs have no say in how they are kept and treated. We as a humane society need to be human to each other, to children, and to creatures whom God has put in our care. I beg you to please expose these puppy mills. Not for the puppies that are prodced but for the males and females who live an absolutely horrendous life until they are no longer money makers or producers. These poor creatures are either killed or sent to auctions where they are purchased to see if maybe they have one more litter in them. Please, please lend your support and compassion to them.
Please help save the lives of innocent puppies who have no protection but humans', yet some would turn a blind eye to their suffering. It is in your power to open the public's eye to this injutice so that a solution can be found swiftly.

We need to put these monsters out of business once and for all. The *****es who have the litters will never be outside of a cage to feel the grass under their feet. Most of these dogs have had minimal human contact, and live in fecal infested living conditions. I volunteer and do dog rescue transports to get these mill dogs to forever homes. Plese Help !!

Dear Oprah Producers: Please bring this to her attention. Oprah does SO much good and I know that you are always getting requests for help. A show can be created around this topic. There are horror stories out there about dogs from puppy mills. These dogs are purchased innocently to become a part of the family. Then the family finds out the dog has been affected emotionally or physically because of the way it was bred and reared. Whole families suffer.
