This is an important issue, and one that seems to be ignored by many. I believe in your influence, and the strengths of your show and/or magazine will surely provide a helping hand to stop this heinous practice. Mahatma Ghandi and St. Francis of Assisi had the right idea. A love for and concern of animals is one of the few things coming out of religion that really counts.
We need to do away with puppy and KITTEN mills. Thank you for your help. Legit breeders of one thing and should not be targeted but the mill breeders should be shut down.
Your show reaches so many people. Please take this opportunity to stop this horrible practice. These dogs can't speak for themselves...they need someone like you to help them.
Bringing the plight of these dogs to the public forefront will, hopefully, educate those who have no idea of the suffering behind those sweet faces of those "doggies in the window". Please help those who work countless hours in rescue to expose the horrors of puppy mills.

Dogs really are mans best friends. They are always there to lift you up and they never try to let you down-- that is very hard to find in a human. Please help their voices be heard!!!
I have seen too many dogs bred at these mills with genetic problems, mental issues, and terrible socialization. The dogs end up in recues if they are lucky, or in the pound and killed. Puppy mills are a blight.
My friend adopted a dog that came from a puppy mill. It's uterus had busted from having so many babies. She like to have died. My friend is making her a happy little dog now, which she strictly deserves. So may people wouldn't have spent the money she did to same this sweet litte baby. She is so frightened but is learning to trust. Everyone loves her. Help little ones like this Oprah, there are so many. Way too many!

Please, Please help all of the poor dog that are victims of this absolutly HORRIBLE industry! You have the power needed to help end the abuse to endless numbers of helpless animals. These people don't care about their pets, and are only interested in the money. Most of the time, they are in a wire crate, sometimes to small, outside all year long, without any shelter, or even a simple blanked to keep them warm. Many of these dogs have never been on grass, have never had the luxury of feeling soft grass, or squishy mud between their toes, these are truly unfortunate poor little creatures. Not one of these dogs has asked to live like this, and have never done anything to deserve this (nothing could be bad enough to deserve this) but yet these heartless people still treat them that badly. It is terribly sad to see all of the life drained out of their big brown eyes. They need your help tremendously. They should not have to suffer anymore. Please do everything in your power to stop these horrible puppy mills. Thank You, and your help will be greatly appreciated

Puppy mills and pet shops facilitate and promote the abuse and neglect poor dogs by constantly breeding breeding them and providing little or no care.
Although they say the pups are registered..they are registered through bogus less recognized dog clubs. The pups are usually very un healthy and die soon after being bought. It is hearbreaking for the dogs and heartbreaking for the new owners.Sad, sad, sad! Please help!

Only by bringing attention to these horrifying facilities and one of their main sources of revenue aka "Pet Stores" that sell live animals can we ever hope to stop them. We need state legislators to take a stand and work to outlaw puppy mills in their states.
I work at a county shelter. We euthanize between 40 and 100 animals EVERY DAY. Up to 30+% of these babies are purebreds. I was there one day when we put the sweetest cocker in the world to death. Someone neglected her to the point of horrible sickness. Oprah, please help us educate America...with love and blessings, thanks for your time.

Oprah. This is important. You do so many things to help people. This is also helping people. Dogs did not get dubbed "mans' best friend" for no reason. It is a sad commentary on our society that mans' best friend is treated with such disregard. I believe you have or have had dogs. Then you must know that they have feelings and can offer so much in so many ways to humans. They, like people deserve a chance to be cared for and loved. Yes, there are many important issues to work on in this world. People say, "What about abused kids...?" Of course, that is an important issue and deserves a lot of attention so that positive changes can be made. Thing is, dogs do not have a voice (although mine "speaks"), they do not have social workers and they, like many people that we see on your show, can not "rise above it all" and become a college educated, successful, productive and independent member of our society. Please use what you have for canines as well as people. People do listen to you. Having you do a show to educate people on this issue would be a big part of my biggest dream. Thank you for listening.
As someone who rescued a puppy mill puppy, these "breeders" have to be stopped. At 6 months our puppy had never been outside until we brought him home. Please expose this horrible "business"

Make people aware it goees on....It is horrible what dogs just the ones you have suffer day to day with no gentle touch or kind word sometimes day light...Nothing soft to lay on just wire crates with urine and stool falling on them from the crate above them.Feet raw from urine burns and full of stool that has dried on them...Eyes matted shut with infection,have had so many litters of puppies they havent the strink to even get up and eat IF they have that luxery..
I could go on but I do hope you have enough heart to help us who work so hard from money out of our own pockets to save as many as we can and cry for the ones we can't get to or no one cared enough to save them for us until WE can get there.HELP US HELP THEM...........YOU CAN DO IT
My shiba inu was a breeder at a puppy mill. What a mess she was. The first month, she was afraid to walk anywhere but a 20 ft. straight line. Please expose this tragedy.
I am fostering puppy mill dogs as part of a court case. One had a broken pelvis and front legs, another had mange and 3rd was white from malnutrition-all filthy, underweight, terrified of people, having never known kindness. When they were too old or sick to breed he tied them to a tree and let them starve to . He had no problem finding stores to buy his 'purebreed' puppies. Please help set these animals free to lives of dignity and love.
Dear Oprah, Most people don't know that good breeders don't sell puppies to pet stores. Not only are they getting a puppy that's poorly bread and will likely have health problems as a result, but it's parents are living a pitiful life.
Your audience deserves to know where "pet Store" puppies come from.
This is a problem that has been swept under the rug. It seems to be "out of sight, out of mind". There are so many people who could make a difference but alot them don't know the magnitude of the situation. I am a vet student and sad to say this is a problem that has been pushed aside for much too long. Please help us voice this injustice.

There are already too many that end in the shelters and
the puppy mill dogs
are living in unhealthy conditions and it is a shame that we let people do this to these beautiful animals.
PLEASE! Please, turn the light of education onto the horror that is inflicted on untold living creatures for the sake of making a profit. Let people know the truth behind those precious puppies in the pet store windows. If the public knows the true conditions that these animals endure, the horrid practice of puppy mills might just be in jeopardy.

Many uneducated prospect puppy owners have been struck with grief after purchasing a puppy form unreputable breeders.
Sometimes it takes a year or more to find out thier new beloved puppy has terminal Illneses!! Do the reshearch and you will find some real tragedys in Puppy Breeding for Profit!!
