My name is Percy and I am now a lucky boy. At one time I was kept in a steel cage and only brought out when it was time to mate. My new Mom thinks I am maybe 6 years old but it is hard to say. You see there are no papers that say how old I am. I was a product of a puppymill and was kept for stud. I had dry eye and heartworm and I had served my purpose. These people used me and then dumped me into a kill shelter. My eyes were so bad that I was blind and in pain. I had heartworm that needed to be taken care of before they could look at my eyes. I lived in pain for a long time. I now have no eyes but it really doesn't matter since I couldn't see anyway. Now I don't have pain.I was lucky that some nice people were coming to rescue another friend and they saw me too. You see it was my last day. I am very happy now and have nice brothers and a sister that look out for me and love me. Not everyone is as lucky as me.
Please Oprah help spread my story and the story of hundreds of thousands of puppies like me.
I have seen and dealt with pupymill puppies and the people who sell them, these poor creatures do not stand a chance of a decent well deserved life that most well breed puppies have, not to mention the conditions that the parents must endure for profit. If you truelly have the compassion for animals, Oprah then you need to take a stand against it or you become part of the problem.
This would be a wonderful opportunity to help those who are misinformed about the dangerous situation they are perpetuating by purchasing dogs that originated in these torture chambers!
Oprah, your influence can change lives. Please use it to change the lives of those who have no voice of their own.

The ppl who run these mills are dumb-masses they should go through life being miseralble or once they die they should spend their next life as one or the animals in one. I have to say they should just drop dead one day they dont deserve to live. I mean is it even lawful to run a puppy mill?? cause it shouldnt be!!
If the truth were known about the horrors of the puppy mills, I think most people would choose to adopt a homeless animal, or to buy from a reputable breeder. Please help educate future dog owners.
Oprah, as a fellow dog lover, I am at a lose as to why you will not help this cause. Someone with influence like yours could put this in front of more people that might be willing to help.
How about a show about adopting shelter and rescue dogs (temperament tested, of course) and mention puppy mills and backyard breeders, if just a show against puppy mills isn't your style?
Oprah, You have shown many times your compassion for the unfortunate among us. Please find it in your heart to speak out on behalf of all these helpless animals who need a voice like you!
Please use your leadership skills, your grace and your heart to get these horrendous mills closed once and for all.
I also think that Greyhound racing (or any other type of sport which uses dogs) is beyond despicable.

I rescued my dachshund Hannah from a puppy mill. She was a breed dog and spent the first 5 years of her life entirely in a cage doing nothing but have puppies. She never got to run in a yard or even learn how to play with toys. Puppy mills are brutal cruel and inhuman ways of providing puppies to unsupecting people who want a pure breed dog. Please find it in your heart to expose this awful secret that so many people do not know about and set our wonderful loving companions free from suffering!
Perhaps if you don't want to expose
puppy mills, you could show the public about the breeders that take every precaution to breed good puppies, raise them in their homes with love and place these puppies only in deserving, loving homes.

A laudible goal - when we domesticate animals making them dependent upon us, we have a responsibility for the care. Why breed dogs or cats anyway when there are so many homeless ones in shelters?
Miz Oprah, we is two bichon puppies and we is 9 months old, we is two of the lucky ones, we gots good homes, but so many of our puppy babies don't even get a good start in life, they is born in cruel conditions, wif they poor mama's who can't eben go outside to potty, they has to eat and drink in they poopies, and then they get sold to some puppy store who charges astronimical fees for them, and then if they is really gots good lucks they gets a good home, otherwise, they gets put to sleep cause nobody wan's them!!! Then the cycle starts all ober! The mama's that had the bunch that gotted putted to sleep has more babies and they is born amidst poopies, and rotten food scraps, and they gets taken away and sold to pet stores, We fink you gets the picture. We hopes that you can help all the furkids in the world eben a little bit!!!

Oprah, your show reaches millions of people each day. PLEASE join the fight to expose Puppy Mills for what they really are. PLEASE help to educate the public on where "pet store" puppies come from. They (and their parents) are innocent victims of unscruplous, greedy people who are only out there to make a quick buck. We are not over exaggerating, we are not "crazy" animal rights activists. I'm a veterinary technician, I have seen first hand what types of puppies are produced by these so-called "breeders" the majority are very unhealthy and are taken away from their mothers too early. PLEASE PLEASE use your show to expose this horrible abuse! Thank you from all the creatures that cannot speak for themselves.
I am the proud parent of 4 beautiful rescued babies. 15 yr old cocker mix, 3yr old pit bull mix 2 yr old pit bull mix and a 1yr mini hot dog dog. These ARE my children. They are what make me get up in the morking to go to work and come home to a home full of happyness. Oprah, Please help stop the puppy mills and put more effort into rescues and the education that Pit bulls or any breed that looks like them are not an evil breed. With all the abandoned puppies that are dumped on the streets and in shelters its heart breaking to know that these disgusting puppy mills exsist. Its just another case of Ignorant people owning animals. Look at it this way...keep a human female pregnant for the rest of her life and all she is suppsoe to do is push out babies and live in her own filth..IS THAT A LIFE!? Please help us out Oprah. You are in position to help expose the cruelty of puppymills. Please become informed if you are not, and help rid our country of them. Conditions are horrible, and the animals rescued are mostly unhealthy, starved and unsocialized ones. Please, please help us!

As someone who has been involved in rescue for almost 35 years I believe I have seen the worst the human race can inflict on animals. One of the worst is operation of puppy mills in this country. It is a multi-million dollar industry that preys on defenseless animals whose cries are stifled by de-barking (shoving pipes down their throats) and breeding them until the their little bodies can endure no more. They are then thrown out like trash or left to starve to death as they are no longer considered of any "value". Please help us to speak for those that CANNOT and to help free these prisoners of GREED>
The better educated we are as a society about the realities of puppy mills, the less demand there will be for animals purchased in pet stores (most of which receive their inventory from puppy mills). People need to know that there are better alternatives such as: adopting from a shelter or using a reputable breeder. Puppy mills and the pet stores who buy from them are making millions of dollars while animals are suffering and customers are being ripped off and dealing with pets that are unhealthy, have congenital disorders and have been mistreated. And what becomes of the mothers of all of these litters? Many are discarded after they can no longer produce adequate litters. Our society has a right to know what is happening behind closed doors and have the ability to make a conscious choice when finding their next pet.
Please seriously consider addressing this issue. Shelters and rescue groups are overflowing with unwanted dogs. Most do not come from reputable breeders. One visit to a kill shelter will open a person's eyes. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Today I am one week old. What a joy to be part of this World!

My mother takes very good care of me. She’s really an exemplary mother.
2 months
Today I was separated from my mother.
She was very restless and with her eyes bade me good-bye.
I hope my new human family will take as good care of me as she has.

I have grown very rapidly, everything attracts my attention
There are several children in the house who are like little brothers to me.
We play a lot, they pull on my tail and I give them little bites in good fun
5 months
Today I was yelled at. My mistress was all upset because
I peed inside the house. But I was never told where exactly
I should do it. I also sleep in the hall. I was very unhappy about that.
8 months
I am a very happy dog! I have the warmth of a home,
I feel so safe, so protected... I think that my family loves me. The
courtyard is all mine and, oftentimes, I exceed myself, digging the
ground like my ancestors, the wolves, to hide the food.
They never try to teach me anything. It must be all right then,
all these things I am doing
12 months
Today I am one year old. I am an adult dog.
But my masters say that I have grown more than they had expected.

Today I was tied up. I was almost unable to move,
to catch a sunbeam when I feel cold, or to
shade myself when the sun is on high. They
say they are going to observe me and that I am ungrateful.
