Public education is the only way to combat this problem. Oprah does so much for so many disadvantaged people, I hope she might be willing to do this one segment to help animals that cannot help themselves.
Please Oprah. I know you are a fellow dog lover. You have to understand the power of your show. You have become who you are by doing the right thing. Please do so for the benefit of those that cannot speak for themselves.

have you ever seen Amish puppy mills in PA? And the inhumane treatment of dogs by the hands of the greedy Amish. I guarantee you that you wont be able to sleep at night. So have a heart and help us to stop the greedy Amish in Lancaster PA. The puppy mill Capitol.
There are also so many dogs in shelters that need adoption; breeding should be done responsibly and we should focus on the dogs that need help in shelters.
This needs to be about kitten mills also. I am heavily involved in rescue. I have worked with our local Humane Society and helped with large rescues. This is a horrible issue with animals not having a voice nor can they help themselves. Therefore, we have to be their voice and help them.

This issue for the humane treatment of dogs expands far beyond just puppymill dogs,(which probably make up the largets group of dogs trying to survive under horrendous conditions. We rescue hundreds probably thousands of dogs everyday around the country and with your help can possibly bring some safety and reasonable care to these poor helpless unconditional loveing animalsbeig forced to live their lives daliy and hourly in pain, without food or water yet expected to produce puppys to sell. Oprah, Am I to believe you let your editors keep this information not only from you, but from the American public also? If your editors had a story to do with me being a legal law abiding member of the machine gun club in Broward County, Florida they would probably be all over it, even though all the machine guns are legally registered BATF class 3 weapons, and all we do is shoot targets at the state park firing range. Your editors would be all over that one, probably jumping up and down screaming why should anyone own a fully automatic, selective fire machine gun. Think we are hurting anyone or anything by shooting into a dirt hill? What is happening to these poor animals is completely inexcusable. Do you not have any sort of heart or compassion for animals that are needlessly suffering on a daily basis? It's too bad that it is not legal for the machine gun club to use these puppymillers as a target. You can legally do something by exposing the horrific conditions and suffering that these poor animals have to endure. Why would you not?
I believe a society can be measured by how well it cares for its animals. As a whole, this country goes above and beyond what should be done to care for animals – dogs and cats, especially. But in rural areas, law enforcement often turns a blind eye to puppy mills and animal fighting because generally they are related to or have grown up with the people doing it. We have that problem here in Kentucky, and I know we are not alone. It's wrong, and something must be done. I'll do whatever is necessary to help.
Oprah, I hope you will help us stop the horrific practice of puppy-mills and backyard breeding. I have a friend who adopted an 8 year old dachsound that had been rescued from a puppy-mill. It was so sad to see that he could not even walk from all those years of sitting in his tiny cage, not feeling the freedom he should have. Poor thing had never fely anything but a cold wire cage FOR EIGHT YEARS! Thanks to the love and patience of the adopter, he is now able to run and receive the love he so desparetly craved. These mills are everywhere and more are popping up. With your ability to reach millions of people everyday, you will assist us in our fight to get the mills shut down. I hope you understand the need for this and help us by dedicating a show ( or more) to the plight of these poor unfortunate animals. Thank You

I've been working with the local Humane Society for 7 years strong and must say that this is the most abusive trend to the general welfare of the dog population. People need to not be so passive; the truth must be exposed and few have the ability to do that. I hope you make the right choice and expose these offendors for the sake of the masses of homeless and abused dogs in our communities.
please help the rescues stop the puppy mills from continuing....with so many shelter dogs being put down on a daily basis its a crying shame that irresponsible breeders are producing sickly pets to sell to shops ect. th cruelty of how these dogs are kept is a vomiting situation. please take a tour of one of these mills and see for yourself. doa surprise visit...so they cant set a false front.

I puppy mill in Columbus Ohio was recently discovered and the pictures of these poor creatures was enough to bring a decent human to their knees in sorrow, Please Oprah help as we know you love your own dogs.
Oprah many of us supported you during you law suit with the cattlemen association. We need your help. Please help us get the word out. Many people support puppymills simply because they don't know any better. They don't realize pet stores buy from the horrible people. PLEASE HELP US.

And who better to do that than OPRAH! She talks - we listen! Hearts United for Animals is a puppymill santuary and also speerheades the Prisoners of Greed campaign. Please - please - please do something to expose this tragedy.
