Oprah, as a dog-owner yourself, I am confident that you relate to how much care and protection is needed by those animals that are dependent upon us. If you see for yourself, the horror that goes on every day; the pain and suffering that dogs are forced to endure, with no voice to speak for them that is strong enough to be heard; with no love, companionship, tenderness; no medical care, no food; the cruelty and physical abuse these beautiful creatures endure - all year long, every day, every minute. After seeing some of the horror, I can't believe anyone would willingly turn away. I guarantee that if you see for yourself, you will cry and feel the horrible pain.
If you have a heart as big as you do you will extend it to dogs who are not only great friends to people but the most loyal creatures on the face of our good earth! Help Us!
Please help with this issue. It not only effects the dogs that are abused and neglected, but many caring people that unknowingly buy puppies from puppymills. Thank you.
As an owner of 2 dogs, I am sure that Oprah cares for the well-being of our fellow creatures. She seems like such a caring person, please include a show that exposes the long-time suffering of breeding parents, and the horrible conditions that dogs/puppies must endure, all for the sake of a buck. We call these people "breeders of misery". Please, show compassion . . . you can help to end some of the immense suffering these animals go through.

Please take time out of your busy schedule to take a look at a subject that is both ugly and controversial, PUPPY MILLS. Animal lovers all over the country are working to help educate the general public about the horrid conditions in these places. We want to tell everyone where that cute little puppy they just bought possibly came from and how they started life. Even those who don't wish to keep a pet could not help but be horrified by the way those poor dogs are kept for the love of money they will make for the owners.

The operators of these mills only care about making a dollar. The breeding dogs are used until they sick or injured and then thrown away. They live their entire lives confined to cages or small pens. If they become injured or sick they are often not even treated but allowed to suffer long, agnozing illnesses until they die. Please help them.

We need to teach people more what it means to be a responsible pet owner. People need to realize that you can not just stick a dog in a crate and leave them there. They need alot of attention and love. Would you stick your children in a crate and leave them? Our pets are not a cute stuffed animal, they need alot.All puppies are cute but they do grow up and then you don't decide to then toss them aside. If you can make a difference it would be great! I am a veterinary technician in Greenfield Indiana. Every day I see sick and debilitated animals that are adopted from pet shops that get their supply of puppies from puppy mills. I see the anquish on the owners faces once they have bonded with these sick animals, only to have to have them euthanized way too soon due to some inbreed illness. Please, we must stop the heartache of the owners and speak for these small animals, that do not have a voice.

You know how much your animals mean to you. Please help these helpless, hapless pups from further abuse, and keep others from being born into such horror.
People don't know where the adorable pet store puppy they buy comes from. Its parents are stuck at a puppy mill, kept in filthy cages for life (if you can call it that) with no kind words or human contact. Dogs rescued from these places are usually in terrible shape, both physically and mentally. Please use your influence to urge people never to buy a puppy from a pet store. Pet stores are the retailers; puppy mills are the wholesalers.
We Also have these places here in the UK, and I TOO think that they should be SHUT DOWN, which I have to say, they are doing here, but MORE STILL HAS TO BE DONE
Oprah, As an active participant in Rescue I ask you to please help us stop the breeding of animals for profit. They are bred without health clearances; only to end up in shelters and pounds...unwanted due to ill health and temperament.

Oprah, we all know you love animals. Please help us take action and come to the aid of these helpless creatures. The holidays are the worse times for these poor animals because most of them live out in the cold of the winter in wire crates while the puppy-millers make blood money from the sale of their pups as Christmas presents. That is NOT what Christmas is about, now is it? We cannot possibly put all puppy-millers out of business, but we can at least strive for cleaner and more humane living conditions for suffering animals they raise.
We all need to speak for the animals since they can't speak for themselves. Let's never give up hope that one day all this abuse, neglect and abandonment will end.

I've been active in Bichon rescue for a number of years. The plight of dogs in puppy mills is something that would turn peoples stomachs, but most aren't aware of the true story. Here in KY we are right now fighting a puppy mill that claims to be a kennel! 95 dogs, most Siberian Huskies are at stake here. Even if you don't like animals, you can't feel this is the way to treat them! I have 2 Siberian Huskies and would gladly lay my life on the line to protect them from harm!
