15 Aug 2006 - 1:30    Ann Hinshaw :
15 Aug 2006 - 1:32    Rina Sproat : because any and all dogs in this concrete jungle we call New York City should have a place where they can run freely - as they were naturally born to do.
15 Aug 2006 - 1:39    Jennifer Rolfe :
15 Aug 2006 - 1:51    Joseph Chae : Most dog owners in the city are responsible pet owners. Most of us pick up after our dogs. Our dogs need to be allowed off-leash because they need daily workout so that they don't become aggressive. It's unfair that the mistakes of a few less responsible people ruin it for all the dogs and dog people in the city.
15 Aug 2006 - 1:54    Hannah Flynn :
15 Aug 2006 - 3:16    Brandie Knox-Kirkman :
15 Aug 2006 - 3:17    Steven Kane :
15 Aug 2006 - 3:19    Wendy :
15 Aug 2006 - 3:20    Lissette Feliciano : I support this petition
15 Aug 2006 - 3:20    Mary Hampton : there is no other close green area for them to run, and I wouldn't want a slew of angry pets and owners working with me.
15 Aug 2006 - 4:56    christopher plescia : dog owners constitute a significant cohort in the city population. there have been remakably few incidents as a result of off the leash dogs in any park. dog owners have rights as do any citizens. it is not unreasonable to ask that our generally non-disruptive animals be allowed off the leash durinng off hours at the park. it is not terribly difficult to avoid the limited areas where dogs congregate during these hours.
15 Aug 2006 - 7:27    Aminta Polack :
15 Aug 2006 - 8:41    Ashley Swartz :
15 Aug 2006 - 9:33    Joy Parisi :
15 Aug 2006 - 18:27    Lisa Dellamora : this seems like a reasonable compromise, if the dog park is constructed in a size and manner that truly allows for the dogs to exercise by running and playing. It is unfortunate that the lack of responsibility on the part of some dog owners, and the over-reaction of some non-dog owners have led to this. Dogs are a healthy part of many people's lives. Removing off-leash privileges without giving back a dog park for them to exercise would result in angry owners and unfit dogs that will not be well-behaved.
15 Aug 2006 - 20:35    Laura Grimmer : Having had a dog in the city for four years, I attest personally to the responsible ownership of the vast majority of dog owners who control and clean up after their dogs more carefully than most parents manage their children in public.
15 Aug 2006 - 21:20    Jonathan Winn :
15 Aug 2006 - 22:15    Trishann Antoine : We live in a crowed city with not much open green space - public or private. Unlike the vast majority of those living outside NYC, most of us don't have back or front yards to allow our dogs the freeedom they deserve as living beings. Public parks with off-lease hours and public dog runs (with well known usage laws) are our only alternatives. Don't punish the dogs. Most owners are responsible. If anything, strengthen the penalties for owners who disobey the usage laws. But don't hurt the dogs.
15 Aug 2006 - 22:34    Vanessa Lennon : because the park is for everyone.
15 Aug 2006 - 23:47    bridget murphy :
15 Aug 2006 - 23:54    Fan Hon : to give our beloved companions the chance to be free and interact with other dogs, the joy they share in such a small time frame should not be deprive. Please do not take this joy away from them.
16 Aug 2006 - 2:08    philip grossman : We live in a crowded city, the only place we can bring our dogs to that is safe and in a friendly roomy envoronment is central park. dog owners need to be responsible dont make our dogs the victims here
16 Aug 2006 - 2:59    Ed Talenti : let the NYC Parks Department continue doing its job as they always have!
16 Aug 2006 - 3:19    Amanda Curtin : Off-leash hours allow our community to come together and dogs and their owners to enjoy a shared, public space. The real nuisance is people who litter or misuse the park space; dog owners participating in off-leash hours are generally a conscientious group and community who are part of the solution--not the problem-- to providing safer, cleaner parks. Those who dislike off-leash dogs may enjoy the park during its regular on-leash hours.
16 Aug 2006 - 4:09    William Stamatakis : exercise is a vital component of a sound dog. without a place to properly and freely exercise our pets, you will see an increase in "incidents" involving dangerous dogs and aggression.
16 Aug 2006 - 4:11    Christine Pfeuffer :
16 Aug 2006 - 5:12    stephen mukofsky : We all are vital parts of this city and out dogs are vital parts of our lives. Do not punish us for the city"s failure to provide adequate "green space" for all.
16 Aug 2006 - 5:38    Seena Frankel : because I feel dogs need the freedom at certain times and since this is a limted time and place, I agree with the petition.
16 Aug 2006 - 5:50    Susan Hartwell :
16 Aug 2006 - 18:58    Steve Mount :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:04    Pamela Yee :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:22    Frances : Please compromise, don't take EVERYTHING away. Be fair, be reasonable, they need their excercise PLEASE
16 Aug 2006 - 19:23    Frances :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:31    Ellen : because they spend a great deal of time indoors and need a place to go and run freely without a leash.
16 Aug 2006 - 19:32    Roxana :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:39    barbara :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:41    louise : I support this petition because this seems like a reasonable compromise, if the dog park is constructed in a size and manner that truly allows for the dogs to exercise by running and playing.
16 Aug 2006 - 19:41    Desiree Scotto :
16 Aug 2006 - 19:47    Terry Donegan :

16 Aug 2006 - 19:59    Diarmuid Foley : I support this petition
16 Aug 2006 - 20:22    Shane : this proposition seems like a fair compromise for all sides.
16 Aug 2006 - 20:41    Conor Bell : dogs need a little freedom you can't leave them with nothing
16 Aug 2006 - 20:42    James : for Harry! Woof Woof!
16 Aug 2006 - 20:44    Mary Schimpf :
16 Aug 2006 - 21:04    Colin Barton : its fair
16 Aug 2006 - 21:21    Maryann : Dogs need a place to run, just like people. It is cruel not to allow dogs to have fun!
