So often we are told that "our vote matters" and so often I feel that my vote doesn't count at all. We have the illusion of democracy so that we do not have revolution.
You will behaving in the in the same way that third world dictators behave if you do not HONESTLY find out what the vote really was in Ohio.Is it fear that would cause you to consider not doing so, or indifference to the electotate?
I think it's a disgrace that Warren County believes it was under a terrorism watch on Election Night and therefore ballots could not be counted publicly. It shows there is less credibility that the Ohio vote was fair.
I request that you count all the votes in Ohio. I realize that this request will be met with indifference and that you don't care that, by refusing to count each vote, you, personally, are serving to further erode the confidence that we, as Americans, have in our democracy. It is interesting that Republicans currently seem to look at murder in Iraq in the name of democracy as an unquestionable good while considering the non-violent act of *counting votes* in America as beyond the pale of reason. I would like to be shown the Republicans want to win elections because people *choose* them and that your party is not afraid to have an accurate and thorough counting of the American Vote.
If this election remains clouded by inadequate or mishandled vote counts many people will assume we live under a dictatorship for sure, and that will have disastrous consequences for us all. If the vote cannot be counted, please say so. The American people deserve to know this.
It's not your job to illegimately install this criminal dictator AGAIN! It's your job to make sure the elections are NOT rigged. Count the votes and investigate and prosecute the fraud!
Not from Ohio, but still believe in democracy, but we are all in this together. Do your people right, do your job, and count the votes. You will cheat the fine people of Ohio if you don't do your job. ALL America is watching.
As a former resident of Ohio who had a family member who worked for the Board of Elections, it is CRITICAL that you be beyond reproach, honor the process, and count all the ballots. Give people no reason to question you - be above reproach!
Thanks so much!
There are many doubts on the validity of both the 2000 and 2004 elections. Our democratic election system is at stake. Where did clean elections go? This is worse than a third world country, since there are higher aspirations.
So many provisional and spoiled ballots indicates something seriously wrong with the Ohio elections. That's your watch!! Be accountable and accept your responsibilities.
Americans deserve real democracy. We deserve to know that all the votes are counted and counted fairly. Also this needs to be done to put a end to all the questions as to wether or not this election was truly won by Bush. If this is left undone all it will do is bring on more problems this country does not need at a time we are at war. We need to be united not devided and if people continue to feel this was a rigged election it will never be united. With all the irregularities and computer glitches Americans deserve a recount.
You must count all the votes to ensure accurate reporting and to give your citizens confidence in the democratic process. If you do not, then you have even less authority to "bring freedom" to the world.
Is it any wonder Iraqis want your occupation to end?
Is this the kind of democracy the Founding Fathers had in mind? A democracy where the powerful and well connected can fix the vote? I find it interesting that polling data has always been accurate; that is, until people started running against George W. Bush!
