Since the voting process is an important part of our democratic system, it is extremely important that it be legitimate. Therefore, it is imperative that any real possibility of an error be investigated thoroughly.
Please do what's right. Many of us feel he stole the first election in 2000. At least give up the peace of mind that he _won_ this one and we weren't cheated again.
This is not representative of a TRUE democracy. Whatever happened to the lawsuit that was filed in cleveland election day morning? I also know of several people oversea's who did not recieve their absentee ballots.
Not only do all the votes need to be counted, but the audit-free, trail-less voting machines that allow for the easy changing of votes with no record of the change need to be done away with.
I want my vote to count!
At least for the sake of a thorough and complete record of those who voted. We were led to believe that all votes, even provisional ballots, count. You owe this count to all voters in the State of Ohio.
Independently verify the vote please. If we're supposed to be the "shining example" for the rest of the world, then lets shine and do what's right - count every vote.
The people have spoken. Almost half DON'T like Bush and Cheney and it's starting to appear that maybe more then half if you would take the time and recount all the ballots and look into problems with faulty machines....here in Columbus (Gahanna) one of the poll centers came back with over 3,000 more votes for Bush then were cast - and that's just one polling center. I understand the republicans will do anything to win, but seriously I think they would feel better about a win if it was proven to be fair and all doubt cast aside. So just do a recount and do it honestly and then everyone will shut up.
Everyone's vote should count. So get out those ballots and count them.
And why we're at it, ditch the electoral college. With it we are NOT a democracy. If we were, Gore would have won the 2000 election (since he won the POPULAR vote).
You owe it to the American people to ensure the presidential election process was not hacked. Our country is based on democracy and this last election makes us all question if our votes even matter. There are numerous problems with the voting machines therefore before a president is sworn in you need to find out what went wrong. Technology is a good thing but until the bugs are worked out hold another election with paper ballots where no one can change a vote, perhaps then we can have our votes counted and see who should really be sworn in as our Commander In Chief. My guess is if you redid that vote, Kerry would win by a landslide when you take the hacker opportunity out of the voting process.
either count the votes or hold the vote again, using old style paper ballots. there are far too many discrepancies between the exit poll numbers and the vote totals on the machines.
My husband and I stood in line for 2.5 hours to vote-he had to vote provisionally because of a mix-up with his address. His vote deserves to be counted, by an independent council, Mr. Blackwell!
Please count the votes correctly. There were way too many republican hands involved with ballots. I even saw a picture of a truck carrying ballots to the voting center, and on the truck was a Bush Cheney sticker. That's just wrong.
I'd like a recount but honestly given the integrity of the company manufactering the machines, I'd prefer a revote with carbon-copy paper ballots. There needs to be a way to ensure that every vote was accounted for. Every voter having a copy or receipt would ensure that there could not be any tampering.
an INDEPENDENT council should be appointed to check out this election. We all know that you are going to run for governor Mr. Blackwell, do you really want this hot potato on your lap?
Also, when voter turnout is greater than the 100% registered, something is amiss. I think the voters of Ohio will want this looked into, as will the many voters in other states as it directly affects them.
Not only do all the votes need to be counted, but the audit-free, trail-less voting machines that allow for the easy changing of votes with no record of the change need to be done away with.
