NO BSL!! PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!! I think the legislatives need to focus more on the people causing these animals to act so violently instead of the Pit Bull breed itself. If they would focus on getting the BAD owners off the streets or even banned from owning Pits it would take the problems away. They should also visit some of the kennels in the area and actually be around Pit Bulls before trying to fight so hardly against them before knowing ONLY what the media has made them out to be!!!! I am sick of tired of the MF politicians blaming or pointing the fingers to my dogs when the media only gives the public half the information when it comes to dog attacks. I own wonderful dogs but i am also a father of two beautiful kids, my dogs are also consider part of my family. You are anybody will take either, cause i will fight till my last breath for both. ONE!

Dont ban the Breed. Responsible dog owners are the ones that have to pay for the stupidity of others. Make harsher laws for the people that take part in using these dogs for criminal activity, dont punish the law abiding citizens that take care of their dogs.
Banning or restricting certain breeds of dogs does nothing to protect us from dog bites or attacks. Any dog can bite and any large breed can inflict serious injury. Pit Bull types are no more dangerous than German Shepards Mastiff types or Huskeys.The key to preventing bites is targeting irresponsible dog owners and breeders. Breed specific laws are also impossible to enforce because there is no accurate method to identify what breed a dog is if it is not registered. Registered dogs are far more likely to be in the hands of responsible owners who plan to compete in shows. Oklahoma should vigerously persue legislation that would target irresponsible owners because this has prooven to be the most effective way of preventing bites and attacks.Targeting fad breeds has become popular but simply is not effective and inevitably results in the destruction of numerous gentle family pets.

Take action on the people responsible not the dog for doing what it is taught. A Pitbull is not human aggressive unless trained to be, it has never been bred to be human aggressive.
Protect our families, fight BSL. Please reconsider your thoghts, educate yourself. Spend time with a pitbull. Raise a pitbull and see how it compares to any other dog you have ever owned. It will be the smartest, most loyal, loving family member you will ever have!

I dont think paul wesselhoft realizes how many pit bull owners there are in oklahoma. I have confidence in my fellow pit bull owners that this bill will never pass.
SAD JOB that the State Law Makers are doing....go out and make tougher laws on child molesters....thats who's hurting our kids....not our pit bulls!! There are many other breeds of dogs that attack people also...why do the pits get such a bad rap?? It;s all how a dog is raised and treated by humans...thats where the bad deed comes into play! So please go out and meet some families that oun Pit Bulls and see how they interact with people...don't just assume they all are BAD....they are NOT!!!
Please hold owers accountable for acts. Do not use the act of 1 dog to effect an entire breed. Do not let responsible pet owners suffer for the acts of non-responsible owners.
This is so terrible that ALL Pit Bulls are punished for those bad seeds. It's all how they are raised and bred!! We are breeders and only breed to produce loving, loyal, athletic, show quality pets! It's those doing the wrong that should be punished!!

God Bless our Dogs!! They are a huge part of our family and I can not see living without them.. They have been raised with our children and love them very much. Our dogs are not just pets they are family members. Get fully educated on the breed before you punish them all. It is the irresponsible owners that are ruining the name of our loved pets. What happened to this being a FREE country? What happened to being able to make your own choices? Someone telling you that you are no longer allowed to keep your pet is not freedom... Pitbulls are great dogs that are misunmderstood and the people who are proposing the band should research them a little more and interview and talk to breeders.
I raise my dogs as a responsible pet owner, Why do the irresponsible owners seem to be the ONLY statistics that are seem. How many actual pitbulls are in your county, or any other county for that manner? and how many of those are being accused of "ATTACKING" someone?? Not many right?
The modern day pit bull is no longer bred to fight. By registration standards this breed is not human agressive. They should not be punished. This breed is the most loyal breed and wants only to please it's owners. Those owners who are condoning/promoting aggressive behavior should be held accountable, not the responsible owners with well mannered pet bulls.
This is such a great breed, I was raised around them and they are so loyal. You can treat any breed of dog badly enough and they will eventually get meaner the worse they are treated. I also have dachshunds and I have had them bite me and not one pitbull has ever bitten me!!! So, punish the DEED not the BREED!!!!!!!!!
have owned 4 pit bulls in my life and I have 2 sons which are 11 and 5, beleive me there is NO absolutley NO agressiveness in my dogs. It's in how you raise your dogs whether it be an American Pit Bull or a Chihuahua. Just because the Pit Bulls are bigger and do more damage,and get more publicity when the owner raises them wrong is no reason to take our family members away from the responsible owners.If in these days we are going to take away from peoples family, then we need to look at all breeds and not just point out one particular breed of dogs. I do understand there are some bad owners of several kinds of breeds of dogs, but, the owners are the ones that need to be punished not the breed. Do the research, find the facts, and weigh them out before a permanent decision is made.. isn't that the way the Justice System works???
Punish the Deed. Not the Breed. The responsibility is on the owner. Any dog can attack a person. Not just the American Pit Bull. The media only broadcast the the attacks that have to do with Pits. When raised properly, these dogs are just as good, if not better than any other breed. And when any other breed is raised poorly, they too will attack.
