I personally think the dog is not the issue it is the owner I have been around several pitbulls and they are great dogs i had one that played with my 4 lb chihuahua and never hurt him they are loving beautiful animals that get a bad rap due to the owners that abuse these animals and cause the animal to be farrel not mean i realize that these banns are no more that a way to get attention as a leader in oklahoma how lame there are starving people abused children and he is worried about a dog i say we work on real issues not the one that sounds the easiest to deal with and banning a dog in unconstitutional!!!!
I support this petition. I have owned 5 pit bulls that are the most loving breed I have ever owned. This breed is very smart. They play tug of war with my 3 year old and know what level of strength to pull with for my son. They are loyal. I got bit by a ****zu-made me bleed. Hurt like hell. I have a scar. It\'s the owners!!!!!!! The breed is innocent. Please do not make us get rid of our precious pet who is a part of our family. Get rid of the irresponsible owners who want to fight them for illegal purpose.

I support this petition. I don't care what Wesselhoft or anyone says, Pitbulls were not bred for fighting. It is individuals who has done that and made people think that. I myself thought that for a long time. I got to know pit owners and got to know other wise. I now am a pit owner and would never think of fighting my dog. If anyone will take the time to look on the internet, there is a lot on the history and heritage of the pit bull. Pits are just like any other dogs, they are just a dog. Heck I could put two poms together and make them fight in a pit, does that make that breed now a mean dog?

I own 3 pitbulls, one of which just had a litter of puppies. None of them have ever shown any kind of bad temper toward us. i also have a 1 year old son who they absolutley love and adore. And yes i know they are some that have done bad things, but its how they were bred and raised. Its not just pits that turn. I've seen, a poodle and a schnauzer turn on someone in the blink of an eye... I FIND IT REALLY SAD THAT SENATORS AND OTHERS CAN BE SO QUICK TO PUT 100'S OF PIT BULLS DOWN, BUT YET THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE MURDERED AND TORTURED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING THAT ARE STILL ALIVE AND JUST GET LIFE IN PRISON OR SOME CRAP... I support this petition. Not every story u here about this breed is against them. As overly spoken as it is, pit bulls, just like any other breed, are a product of their owners. What's next after this breed? Do you think banning pit bulls will get them out of the state of Oklahoma? Do you think underground dog fights will cease to continue? I hate people who use them for that purpose. If you listen to all of the negitivity about the breed, and ban them, there will be someone out there who's gonna find the next breed to ruin. You can make any dog mean. These dogs can be the most loyal companion you will ever find. I have 2 one is 14 and the other almost 2. I rescued the older one when he was 5 years old from an abusive home and neither of them have ever shown agression to anyone. They love my grandchildren and sllep with them. My son has been bit by a dalmation (this one put him in the hospital), a lab, a couple Chihuahuas and a mutt. What about these breeds? It is not the breed its the owners.

I support this petition. The American Pit Bull Terrier is not a bad dog. It is a loving breed of dog that has a heart full of gold. However, a pit bull is bred to put 100% into everything it does, and stupid people train them to fight, so they give it 100% when they fight, just like any other activity. I just read it in another Petition for Pitbulls before:Punish the deed, not the breed.Dogs are made what they are by their owners, everyone who reads the first page of a book about dogs learns that. That is what a dog makes a dog. Its not their fault. They do what their owners tell them, end of story.Somebody who can make a pitbull a killing machine also could make a sloth a killing machine!
