Do some research on this fabulous breed. Talk to people that really know, and stop punishing these dogs. You seem to have already had an agenda to OUTLAW these dogs before elected, well shame on you. i wouldn't trade my pit bull with any dog given the opportunity. with the right supervision and socialization, they are the most affectionate and intelligent dogs i've had in my lifetime. blame the owners, not the breed!
Pitbulls are the best dog breed in the world. They have more skills that are helpful to humans than any other dog breed. I sleep with pitbulls and never had an incident of aggression towards humans.They are just like little children. Hope you don't pass a law banning them. Thank you. Danny

i dont get why the state of oklahoma is trying to band pitbull from oklahoma its not there fault for all the recent attacks i mean if you know my aunt lenore shell tell you that the little boys arm looked like a toy in the fence and thats not a bad look at it as i understand it all the pitbulls are doing is pretecting their owners as they were trained to do. so if you love pits you need to sign this petition i personally love pits and blame the ppl for doing something stupid in the first place, i mean the litte boys grandfather should have been watching him better i mean he knew that they neibours had pits so its mostly his fault im Patrick Clark II and im for pits all the way and im sure everyone that has signed the petition has a deep love for pits so lets me leave you with a message: its not their faults.
i currently have 2 babies of my own and love them very much. they are the best dogs ive ever owned. owners take a huge part in how their dogs act. be responsible enough to know what kind of dog you own and take proper precautions. God gave them their defense mechanisms for a reason. it is the people who take this ability and use it for their own benefit. those kind of people dont really care about the animals anyway. there are a lot of us out here that do care about the animal and dont want to have to give them up because of those people who dont care.
I currently own a pit bull and have just purchased another. I also have four childeren all between the ages 2-8!! My kids all love and play with our dog. He sleeps in the house and sometimes with the kids. Pits are as any other breed they are kind and loyal pets. Bad people are responsible for bad dogs ANY Breed of dog PERIOD!!!!! So I think it should be punish the Bad owner and the Bad dog NOT the entire breed of this wonderful dog. WE LOVE OUR PIT BULLS!!!!
Is this the best you can come up with? ban pitbulls? Have they exhorted all efforts? Banning pitbulls is as good as killing them right? Who are you judge if you haven't done anything to educate the owners? AMERICAN PITBULL TERRIER is an AMERICAN LEGACY and its been there before you were born. Focus on saving not banning. Wisen up!
If we allow this sort of bill to become law - in any state - we are opening the door to legistation that allows a future ban on any canine breed. A true violation of liberty.

I would like to point out to you that there are several kinds of dogs that were born only for fighting, the chow chow, which fought courageously for the Chinese and will today as well. The Neopolitan Mastiff was borne out of the need to have dogs with size and agility to destroy humans on the battlefield. These are two great examples of dogs bred solely for the destruction and protection of human lives, Yet you as a lawmaker would have us believe your rheotric concerning the american pitbull terrier, what breed will you target next. I guess it is easier and cheaper to ban a breed than to stop the fighting rings that exist all over the world today. Unlike prohibition of alcohol, I guess since there is no way to find a financial gain for the government and policing cities, towns and other areas would cost money, it is much better to ban a breed than to punish a deed. I am sorely confused as to how you as a human being could come to the conclusion that it must be better to outlaw an entire breed rather than punish irresponsible owners. Let me just tell you that I have over 12 of these animals and I have never had a fight on my yard and I have never had a dog get out of line in 10 years of ownership. And just so you know all dogs no matter the breed are pack hunters and will hunt or kill in a group or individually if provoked. I am sadded to think a man of your education and stature has come to believe that your only way to deal with this situation is to propose a ban. That is cowardice in the greatest form of government.
