I have found the solution to fixing the slow downs. Play the game on an HDTV using an HDMI cable on 720p or 1080i setting. I swear I have not experienced any slowdowns during game play. Its practically flawless. Only the replays are a bit jerky.
so crap. its gone more like fifa and if it got any more slower the players would be running backwards. whoever let this on to the market without it being finished deserves a good slap. was really lookin forward to this game and i have been left very dissappointed.
I have been nothing but disappointed with this version. The patch is taking too long and the whole stupid saga is proof that companies nowadays are arrogant and dishonest. Releasing crap like this, in an unfinished state, should be punishable. Where is the customer's value for money here? Why is the patch taking so long? Where is Konami's heartfelt apology for scamming people?darn it!Enough said.
The game is so poor, I got a ps3 yesterday and this was the first game I put on. I did wonder if I had got a dogdgy machine of if the ps3 was rubbish. I would get my money back if I thought I could.
Official Playstation Magazine gave this pile of trash 9 out of 10. We should stop buying that rag too or at least get the reviewer to donate his Konami bung to charity
Bought the PS3 just to play PES 2008. I'm shocked that Konami would betray my loyalty like this. Releasing this shabby unfinnished game should never have happened. PES 6 plays better on my PS3! I've been playing PES since ISS way back in the day I know the game well. PES 2008 Graphics are rubbish
This version of pro is lame! The others have all been good but the single player AND multi-player lag make it terrible and not as fun to play. PATCH IT, FIX IT QUICKLY
u suck konami! been a fan since iss, bought every game played for hours.like many willing to put up with your inability to get more licensed teams (yet again been let down here btw) amongst other things because of the gameplay. This game totally sucks and you have disrespected all your loyal fans by releasing it many will not be able to get their money back and i hope now they move on to fifa and never come back to you unless you get down on your knees and beg, you need to make this up to the pes community you need to make it up big
i cant believe what they have done to this game! £425 for a PS3 £50 for pes 2008 and its the worst game i have ever played, how the hell have they messed it up this badly!! the frame rate issues are terrible and it constantly crashes. insult to the PS3!! took mine back and brought colin macrae dirt!! please sort it out Konami!!
Konami have managed to ruin Pro Evo and may have killed one of thier greatest ever IPs. 2008 is a complete dibaucal and it will difficult to convince gamers to pick up Pro Evo above FIFA in the future.
I cannot believe people are expected to pay up to £50 for a game that does not do what it says. The frame issues are the biggest and also a game should not crash as much as PES 2008 does on the PS3. The store where I purchased it from says I cannot have a refund because I have used it so I am stuck with a £50 waste of money game! I'm shockingly disappointed that PES could not keep up with the quality given by Fifa 08... what a shame!
i cant believe konami have released pes 2008, its not fit for purpose. ive been a loyal supporter of the pro evo series and have loved all of them.The slowdown issues are totally unacceptable for a next-gen game on the ps3, and i hope konami are gonna sort out a patch to get this sorted.if not im affraid to say i will not be buying pes 2009 out of princible, or i want a £20 refund because this game is only half finished. riki hartop.
shocking. i've been a pes fan for about 10 years and it amazes me how a game this fundamentally flawed can be released. also my version keeps freezing up. can i have my money back please konami?
I'm so disappointed with Konami.I love PES-series and have chosen to buy this game instead of the FIFA-series. I think Konami will lose alot of customers if they dont fix this problem.
Was going to purchase the game and had it pre orded, as im an avid PRO EVO fan and hate fifa , but after reading the reviews i have cancelled order and will not purchase the game, very gutted , not happy that it is CRAP
Always loved these games me and my m8 play head to heads all the time thought we would go online and dominate !!! Cant even do it ! I bought my PS3 for pro evo and have been let down big style , game play shocking to as well as the lag , cant believe they hyped it up ..... Sh$$$!
I feel exactly the same way, I have been a fan since ISS and played for ridiculous amounts of time on all of them. I have the 360 version and the last two years, Konami have taken two big steps backwards. My list of complaints is far too long to go into. It is enough to say that they have spent too long toning graphics and no time developing the game. Next Gen? Next football game please, FIFA wins this year too. Konami stole my favorite game!!!
this has to be the worst pro game of all time.i have been an avid fan over the years,but this one sucks.having problems online aswell with it which quite frankly just is not good enough
I baught this game ahead of halo 3 and other great titles;what and idoit i am. Not only is playing online(the reason i got the game)unplayable but the achivments wont unlock for me.Terrrible editions to the series which i have loved since number 1.
totally agree all this plus the game just irritates me now. own goals and red cards in 90% of matches poor graphics and annoying music. konami have just broken my favourite game!!!
Its awfull for pc as well.It doesnt even support wide screens and resolutions for modern video cards, also you cant play the game if you have a pc with equal or more than 4 gb of Ram... pure joke, give me my money back
An absolute disgrace beyond compare. If you look at effort made to improve and take strides forward and in terms of polish and overall product then FIFA (and I am a huge pro fan who has hated FIFA since the 97 edition) wins hands down (hurts me to say that, but it's true!). An abomination beyond compare, how and why it has been allowed on the shelves in such a state I do not know! It's bad enough we have to put up with tjhe rubbish graphics, menus, options and licences but to then see yet again no improvements made for another year, lag, glitches and slowdown that make online play impossible and gameplay flaws such as the inability to take throw-ins quickly, having to wait as much as 7 seconds for the ref to blow his whistle on free-kicks and corners and the awful new system of having to wait for the other player to press start on replays, emaning a shot that's gone wide can turn into a drawn out wait for as much as 15 seconds. A real joke KONAMI, you should be ashamed, if a patch isnt forthcoming quickly to repair all these things then my copy is going back to where it came from and I'll invest my money in a game thats had some thought, effort, energy and passion put into it by a real games company that doesnt rest on it's laurels.
Offline, not too bad. But OH MY GOD, online, this is a million times worse than the lag that was on PES6.I really really hope they bring out some sort of Patch/PS3 update to fix this problem.
I have played Pro on two different T.Vs. It was worse on one then the other. The game play is still very good, however this is supposed to be the most powerful machine.......so what the fuuuuuuuck Seabass get it sorted I have been a konami fan since ISS on Super Nintendo, I deserve better.
Absolutely shameful. After all those years of loyalty and this is how they repay us?? Taking us for fools and releasing something thats not only uncomplete but of worse quality than previous versions in terms of gameplay and every stupity in it. I never play no other game, pro evo was the reason i game. no problemo kONAMI, u might have gained cashloads thru adverts but you have lost our hearts,trusts
its slow, passing feels like your kicking a cannon ball, slow down unnacceptable master league impossible, shooting not brilliant,some players just too good cant be tackled, refs stupid pro evo 06 was much better worst of the pro series...terrible effort
I have never been as disappointed with a pro game than I am with this one. I can't believe they released it with these problems. I would take the game back and get Fifa (a much better game) but I have been told I cannot get a refund due to having to enter a unique code when playing online...which I haven't done.
Still playable but a travesty it was ever allowed to be released with such issues. I would have happily waited another month to play the game and have these slow down issues ironed out. Konami have shot themselves in the foot with this one
the fact that this only happens on ps3 shows a total lack of loyalty?? The fact is, it was sony playstation owners whose faith and support allowed pro evo to go multi platform!! Why should other platforms, especially the microsoft xbox, be able to play a game that they haven't been following for more than 2 years??!! I have followed it since i was converted way back in 1999!!!
release ps3 patch to fix the slowdown in the box and replays and the tackling with x for pressure needs to be ironed out it's way to hard i am playing on top player and master league most difficult and its almost impossible to apply enough pressure to take the ball off the opposition while when you have the ball it's easy to score, I am a pro evo veteran but this difficulty is unstable and unacceptable.
PES 2008 runs so slow on the PS3, it loves to freeze up during replays too. I bought the game on the day it was released and now I am so disappointed with Konami!!!
I totally agree,This is a half arsed attempt and totally unnacceptable.It should never have been released.FACT-the game is broken and unfinished,the fact that it was still being tweaked 3 weeks before release speaks for itself,konami should pull the ps3 version an give us all a refund.Its an absolute joke
i have a 360 and am baffled by this the online is horrible but hopefully they will release a patch,but slowdown on replays? how can a game which ran smoothly on a ps2 get worse on a next gen console which is suppose to be more powerful? its not gears or halo which can have 8/12 people no probs online.its just a 1 v 1 footy game how hard can that be. there is no excuse for this. truly shocking.
Completely agree, this is unacceptable and should not have gone to market in it's current form, it is massivly disapointing that a game as anticipated and dearly followed as this should be allowed to be released in such an unfinished form. I would find the condition the game runs in as borderline acceptable for a pre-release demo teaser. This is not a finished product and clearly rushed to market. Music, animations, menu screens, and Mark Lawrenson are easily ignored/forgiven, but the in-game issues are unacceptable.
