Dear friends

Almost a year ago we have requested from PMI a permission to create a PMI Chapter in the UAE. At that time PMI had freeze on creating new chapters and did not provide this permission. PMI also did not finalize our request and stated that such a permission to create a new chapter must come from PMI-Arabian Gulf Chapter (AGC), which is based in Saudi Arabia. AGC had refused to allow a UAE chapter independent of the Saudi based operation for reasons that are not clearly stated. They only want us to be a branch of the AGC chapter.

At this time it is clear from PMI data that membership in the UAE is growing faster than in Saudi Arabia. Also the number of PMP in the UAE is already higher than in Saudi Arabia. Many professionals in the UAE also do not believe that we have enough project management activities in the UAE and we believe our own chapter will significantly enhance that service.

Therefore, we are raising this petition to send to PMI to support our request for a new chapter. Please let us know if you are willing to support a chapter so we can pass your vote to PMI.
