Playstation 3 Failure Recall/Repair Petition

We, the signees(Hereby known as OWNERS) of this petition demand that Sony Computer Entertainment of America's(Hereby known as SCEA) Playstation 3 Console(Hereby known as HARDWARE) adhere to the listed demands(Herby known as DEMANDS).

DEMANDS:

1.1) SCEA will repair the HARDWARE at no cost to the OWNERS.

or;

1.2) SCEA will refund the total purchase price of the HARDWARE.

2.1) SCEA will notify all OWNERS who registered the HARDWARE with SCEA, in writing, that the repairs are available at no cost. The HARDWARE will not be repaired if the following is true:

An aftermarket "Mod-Chip" has been installed.
The HARDWARE is property of a retail outlet.
The HARDWARE has been modified by the OWNER.


2.2) SCEA will not replace the HARDWARE. OWNERS who send in
for repairs will receive the same HARDWARE back.

3.1) SCEA will extend the warranty of the HARDWARE to 3 years.

and;
3.2) SCEA will extend the warranty of the HARDWARE's Blu-Ray drive to 5 years.

4) SCEA must refund the purchase price of the HARDWARE to the OWNER if the OWNER wishes. Unless the following is true:

An aftermarket "Mod-Chip" has been installed.
The HARDWARE is property of a retail outlet.
The HARDWARE has been modified by the OWNER.


The OWNERS of the failed HARDWARE believe were not given sufficient warranty coverage by SCEA. The Blu-Ray drives(Hereby known as DRIVES) have a high failure rate, when these DRIVES fail the HARDWARE become useless.

OWNERS of the HARDWARE have incurred damages of up to $780.00 US(Hereby known as COST), cost of Out of Warranty Repair plus launch date retail price of the HARDWARE). SCEA has failed to correct this issue with later generations of the HARDWARE and has yet to appease OWNERS by repairing or refunding the purchase price of the HARDWARE.

AMENDMENT :

If HARDWARE failed after warranty expiration date SCEA will repair said HARDWARE.
