Many, if not most, people who are sexually abused as children do not admit what took place for several years. The reason for this is because the molesters, rapists, and pedophiles manipulate their victims into believing that they are the cause of these horrendous acts or threatened and never speak up. If a person does get the courage later in life to speak out and wishes to press charges they cannot because of the statute of limitations. Days, months, even years do NOT erase what happens to these children.
The truth is that most sexual predators are repeat sexual predators. If people are not able to stand up and speak then this violence will unfortunately continue and it will happen to more and more children.


Please speak up and help the Michigan government understand that the bill to temporarily lift legal time limits for filing sexual abuse civil suits (House Bill 4467) needs to be passed.
