IN MY OPINION BEST BREED. ALL THE BAD MEDIA REPORTS MAKE THEM LOOK EVIL. HALF OF THE DOG ATTACKS ARE BLAME ON THE BULLY BREED WITH OUT EVEN KNOWING THE BREED OF THE DOG. I GIVE THIS DOGS ALL THE TRUST IN THE WORLS TO BE AROUND KIDS AND FAMILY.

I have owned several pit bulls and have found them to be loyal loveing animals. I personally believe that it is the owners of these dogs that make them what they are and when a pit bull attacks that it should be the owner that is put down not the dog.

I THINK IT IS SAD THAT PITBULLS ONLY GET BAD ATTENTION AND GET A BAD REP DUE TO IGNORANCE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER ANIMALS THAT ATTACK PEOPLE. IT IS ALL IN HOW YOU RAISE THE ANIMAL IF YOU BEAT YOUR CHILD ALL THE TIME AND TREAT THEM BAD, CHANCES ARE THEY WILL GROW INTO VERY AGGRESSIVE AND DANGEROUS ADULTS. WE NEED TO FOCUS MORE ON THE BAD OWNERS WHO MISTREAT THESE ANIMALS.

Hate the deed, not the breed!!! Pits are loyal, and great dogs. Any dog can be aggressive if trained that was. Statistically cocker spaniels and labs are more dangerous than pit bulls, who make up only 1.89% of bites. Just like kids, it's all in how you raise them!

I currently work with a foster/rescue group in which there are several pit bulls or pit bull mixes. I could tell you stories about their need for love and how they love to roll-over on their backs (which is a submissive position, by the way) and get their tummies rubbed but the only story I will tell you is how one day one of these babies got her foot caught in her fence at one of our adoptions. She began to howl and could not get her foot out and was in pain. I ran to her to try and help her. She is heavy so I couldn't release her on my own; I needed some help with lifting her to release the foot. While I had my hand on her caught foot which hurt she very gently put her mouth on my hand just to tell me it hurt and to please help her. Now obviously, this was a dog in pain and in distress. She could easily have torn a piece out of my hand or torn-off my hand but she realized I was there to help but she was just trying to tell me that what I was doing wasn't helping. That's when I realized I needed help in lifting her. She could have hurt me badly but she didn't. I know a dachsund that tore a runner's achilles heel and he never ran again. Don't be so narrow-minded as to label a breed. It shows your ignorance.

It would be so refreshing to see some "good" news on The American Pitbull Terrier in the media for once. We have owned this breed for well over a decade and are saddened to see the misinformation out there in the media. It would be nice if FOX TV could be the first to actually show the positive image of the pitbull, the true nature of well bred dogs in responsible homes.Instead of "profiling"the breed. Unfortunately there are people out there who own this breed and have no business doing so, it would be great to allow the public to see something other than that for once.

I think that the media needs to repair the damage that they have caused this wonderful breed. I have never in the last 10 yrs of owning them have a problem. They need to educate the public. The media is the one that created the monster and now they should be responsible for helping it. There are many great Pit Bulls that do not get the recognition they deserve, there are drug dogs, search and rescue dogs and therapy dogs whose jobs are in danger due to breed specific legislation. I am so tired of hearing "how could you own one of those dogs with your son?" The fact is that I would rather have my son around my pit bulls than any other dog. It is time to punish the irrisponsible owners and not the dogs! Punish the deed, not the breed!

I have been raising Pit Bull my whole life. They are very warm and loving breed. To lable the breed as vicious and furious man eating animals is wrong. Do not judge the entire breed because a few bad apples. The breed are warm loving animal that only wants to please his or her master. The responiblity of the up bringining of the dog lays in the dog owner and dog owners only. So if you are going to blame someone blame the irresponible owner who should have never being given the right to owned such a loyal breed of dogs.

PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED! Its a saying thats repeated hundreds of times in the APBT comunity. Too bad theres not more people in the world willing to listen. The breed as a whole is getting a bad reputation because of poorly bred,un-regestered dogs. that are being treated badly. We as loving responsable owners need to stand together and work to make the breed what it deserves to be. These dogs are NOT naturally human agressive. Its bad people that make bad dogs.If more people would stand up and fight for the breed instead of turning their heads something could be done!I live in a home with 12 pitbulls,a YORKIE, and 3 kids....

The ignorance out there about this great breed is unbelievable and at times heart wrenching. It's definitely time to help educate more people about the best breed of dog there is hands down- the American Pitbull Terrier. Unsurpassed intelligence, loyalty, ability, beauty and personality, this breed needs to be shown more for what it truly is- great all around dogs- not the breed of dog so closely associated with sad misconceptions and exaggerations that are routinely set forth by media outlets. It's great to see so many APBT enthusiasts working together to improve the name of the American Pitbull Terrier.

I have four children and one on the way, let me say that never will I ever have any other breed of dog raised near my children. PItbull's are not naturally aggressive or mean, it is the way their owner's raise them. Have you ever heard the saying that there is no such thing as a bad kid, only bad parent's? This is also true with pitbull's. Raised in a loving environment, pitbull's are the most loyal, loving ,affectionate dog's I have ever seen. Do the research on it and you will find that there is more aggressive breed's out there that noone is hearing of. I know a little story of a guy and his pitbull, do your research on this also, they were at the resevoir together, I believe in Stockton, Ca, the owner dove into the water and hit his head on a rock and went unconcious. The pitbull, being a naturally nurturing, worriesome animal, started whining and circling the area where the owner dove. Friend's around him that knew the dog, noticed the owner wasn't around, and immediately started looking for him and found him almost three minute's after his accident. Because of this pitbull that everyone want's to "bully" this guy is alive and healthy today. Let the truth be told about pitbull's, pitbull owner's and lover's will thank you for it.

There are far more good pits then bad ones. but the bad ones are the ones getting media attention. of the millions of pits out there why are so few the subject of positive press. we wont even talk about how few of the attack stories are actually perpetuated by true pit bulls.. and not some mutt or mix there of or in other cases pure bred dogs of some other breed. lets let the truth be known, you the media have the power to let it out.

BSL's are just plain wrong. Think of all the great dogs that would never have existed if people had outlawed the APBT. Pete the Pup from the Little Rascals, Stubby, the most decorated american war dog of all time, Weela, the Ken-L rations winner of 1993. If it weren't for her 30 people, 29 dogs, 13 horses, and a cat would have died during flooding in California. These are only a few of the great dogs we would be losing if the truth about the breed does not get out there. Lets get back to the attitude America had during WWI when the APBT was used to represent America in many propaganda posters.

In the beginning the APBT was bred to be human-kind and for a working dog. It was man who put the fighting into the dog. We are now changing this with selective breeding for even temperment dogs, that are once again human friendly. Why punish a breed of dog for the actions of man. The APBT is one of the most loyal and couragous of the canine family. As Owners and Breeders we are responsible to bring out the best of the breed. And we are. Check out the UKC conformation shows and the weight pulls. Talk to people who have had and presently have the privilage of having these wonderful dogs in their family. I have raised dogs for over 25 years, and the APBT rates up at the highest for loyalty and companionship.

Also, I feel that it is important to see the abuse this breed endures through people who own them to exploit them. To Fox TV: Please kindly take intrest in to our voices and let them be heard....do an investigation on responsible pit bull owners and see for yourself how wonderful of a breed it is and has always been. The rap these "bully" dogs have is ridiculous...if you look at statistics you will see that the #1 dog in highest amount of bites in the US yearly is LABS..not pits! I'm so sick of the reputation these dogs have. Look at Detroit-even if the humane society finds a wonderful, sweet puppy...if it's a pit? It gets put to sleep immediately. We need to take action by having it a law to spay and neuter these dogs to prevent overpopulation instead of just euthanising each and every APBT. Please fox...hear our pleas and do a segment on them. It's controversial as well as eye opening, isn't this what you do segmenets about? Controversial stuff? Then I ask of you to do one for the APBT's of america who are family dogs.

They are the most intelligent, intuitive breed there is and they pick up their owner's personality so well. No doubt about it, they are the world's best dog!!! People in this country need to see what they really are...not what some ignorant people make them be. I have never owned another breed of dog that showed more love and loyalty than my pits.My children have grown up with them and my pits are my childrens best friends. This breed is so misunderstood. It is time people start seeing this wonderful breed for what it really is.Loving,Loyal,Trusting.

I think something positive needs to be said about this wonderful breed. Some one needs to help stop this breed from becoming extinct because of peoples ignorance and negative media about them.

My sister raised a child around one. That dog loved that kid so much. She watched over her, and loved her.

There is no such thing as bad dogs, only bad guardians. It is the ignorant, evil people who MAKE these and other breeds dangerous. Ban the idiots, not the innocent dogs.

The need for a segment such as this has reached critical proportions. Breed specific legistlation is threatening to make this lovable, kid-friendly, loyal dog extinct or worse, pushed underground. The right owners need the opportunity to show the public what this breed is about. It was gallant and brave enough to fight in wars with us and protect our forefathers homesteads, it should be our right to share our houses and hearts with this same dog too! The long, proud, and sometimes false truth about these majestic animals needs to be clarified for the world! FOX is the avenue that could get this enormous task done AND done well!

Its about time the real truth about American Pitbull Terriers came out. This beautiful intellignet breed of dog has been abused for generations, and that abuse has been glorified by the media and caused chaos for these poor animals. They are now hated and treated with anger and abuse by the general public. How about we show the truth, how pits really act when they are owned by loving caring respectful owners. Its about time we deal with these issues.
