For a long time I bought into the media's interpretation of this breed. I now own 3 pitbulls after finding a 4 week old abandoned in a cardboard box.
They are truly the sweetest, most loyal, butt wigglers and I will never own another breed!
I would never own another breed of dog. Pitbulls are morel loyal than any other breed out there. Its time for people to see the real true side to our loving breed....
Everybody must realize that men are the ones capable of making a lovely being - human or not - into a dangerous creature. A dog is a dog; people might be monsters.
Dogs are like kids, you can raise a respectful and obedient child or you can raise a child who has no respect for anyone and is a terror to society. The American Pit Bull Terrier is one of the most loyal and most people friendly breeds there are. Hold the dog owner, whatever breed he owns, responsible for the behavior and actions of his/her dog.
The truth is that these dogs can make great pets, but you cannot deny what they are hard wired for or what they can do. A great animal, to be respected and enjoyed responsibly.
Most all dogs are what you make of them. pitbulls are no different, unless you make them mean then there is a big difference. punish the deed not the breed.
I've been around Pitbulls for 17 years of my life and not once bitten. Never had nobody else around our dogs bitten. Whats that telling you pitbull killers. That your the ones who should be banned. It's politics! If the President had a PITBULL it wouldn't be a problem at all. Would it? Pitbulls aren't the problem. People without an open mind are the problems.
These dogs are the most loving dogs ive ever seen. You can train any dog to be aggressive, people just chose the american pit bull terrier because of their strength and their intimidation factor.
Every Pit I've ever known has been loving & sweet. There are more loving pitbulls than there are agressive ones. The public has the right to know every side to a story.
I think all dogs have the potential to become aggressive. Right now it's the "cool" thing to have a mean pitbull. What happens when another type of dog bites someone? Not a lot, but if there's pit in that dog anywhere it'll be put down. They're being stereotyped by what they are being taught. It's not fair to these dogs and it's not fair to those of us who love them.
I had a pitbull mix and was the absolute best dog I've ever had! I have two friends that now have pits and they are nowabsolute believers in the breed! The real pit bull story needs to be told. the sad thing is that the story of how a pit bull actually makes the BEST pet doesn't get the same ratings as pit bull attacks. They should check on the statistics of attacks by other breeds! there's no such thing as a 'bad pit bull', only BAD OWNERS!!!

I have a pit bull. And she is the sweetest thing. Very friendly to other people. I think the reason why they have a bad rap. There bite is more damage. But you never hear about little dogs bitting. Thats becuase they dont cause more damage.
It is time the media started doing some positive press since they have always done the negative press on this breed of dog. Owner's all around the world are saying the same things about this wonderful breed, it is time to listen and go out and meet the dogs we are talking about. It is time the public knows that is a pitbull is human agressive, another human has made it that way. Even fighting dogs are usually great with humans. It's time to start punishing the deeds and not the breeds.
I want everyone to know that everyone needs to stop blaming the breed and go after the truth.. OWNERS OF THE ANIMAL that hasn't done proper training!! Maybe some breeders.. That when they are not properly bred..

i recently adopted a pitbull and he is the sweetest dog ever. i have another dog aswell, a smaller american eskimo and the pitty is afraid of it. it is 11 months old and i've had him for about a month and i have only heard him bark once. he loves being around people and whines when he is left alone. this is the sweetest dog in the world and with the right training other pitbulls can be as harmless as mine.
The pit bull is usually know for being so amazingly aggressive, but the funny thing is that we have 3 ABPT'S none of which are agressive in any way, in fact they take care of our 5lb boston terrier...People need to here the real truth, not just the negative things about them.
i have owned about 22 pitbulls some real pits some who knows , all of them loved and none ever showed human agression period almost nobody is scared of my dogs until they hear the word pitbull and yes i think the genral public truly have the wrong idea about pitbulls
This entire breed banning idea is insane and is based entirely on ignorance and a lack of education. These dogs (I have one myself) are not deserving of this kind of irrational treatment.

I have know many Pitbulls and all of them have been loving dogs. I think it is the owner who make a dog what it is going to turn out like. You can have a mean dog in every breed.
I believe that a strong form of legislation and enforcement is needed for pit bulls, not to protect people from the dogs, but to protect the dogs from the people. Today, pit bulls are being vilified.As cities and communities are responding to dog attacks and the media's hyping of any pit bull incident, laws are being enacted that place pit bulls in the crossfire.Instead of focusing on the pit bulls, turn the spotlight on the humans that abuse them,train them to be fighting dogs,and criminal protection dogs.Try to focus on the fact that pit bulls are family oriented, loving, and loyal companion dogs.
I would love for the media to do a positive piece on the APBT, It would be of great importance and educational value for this breed of dog, which could one day become extinct if things keep progressing at the rate they're progressing. It's a good thing God didn't bann the Human Race because of a few viscious and stupid people!!
Please do the story. Those of us who love these breeds and know about them can attest to the fact that it's irresponsible owners that cause problems for their dogs, not their dogs! People need to understand that owning a pit bull takes responsibility and education about the breeds.
if you air this story you will be doing the breed, and responsible owners a huge favor. i have an APBT, and she's the sweetest thing ever. Don't blame the breed, all of the blame should go to irrisponsible owners. punish the deed, not the breed!
i'd just like to say i kno a lot of ppl with pittbulls and they are some of the most wonderful dogs ever. i'm 15 and even people MY age kno that its not the pittbulls that are the monsters, it's the owners. they'd never have their rep. they do today if PEOPLE didn't put them into fighting rings and such. NO dog is a mean/vicous dog because of bad breeding or 'just because' its because of the OWNER or other HUMANS harrassing the poor thing! get over it, watch animal precinct...even they know it's not the animal's fault..it's the owner's.
Just like dobermans with their bad reputation, pitbulls are sweet unless made mean. All of the pitbulls and dobies I have known have been big, sweet babies.

pittbulls are not agressive dogs. the problem is when the owner makes the dog agressive and that can be any dog so should we ban all dogs. obviosly not.
please research and do an honest piece about these grand animals they are not aggressive normaly it's how they are raised and breed they are the ones being abused the pit bull is the most abused dog in america.
I had 5 adult pitbulls living in my house running free, and had someone break in and steal one of my adult males.... And the other one's didn't even bite the person that broke in,,,come on how aggressive are they really????

Awa5reness! Yes it's about time this gentle souls stop getting the bad raps that have been hanging over them for years. I have had Pitbulls all my life and I wouldn't trade them for a million bucks. These are creatures of passion they love their owner. will do whatever it is trained to do. They are one of the best breeds to own. It is very sad to see these idiots that train them to fight cause when they get mangled it takes years of tender love and care to bring them back around to being the loyal and dedicated animals that they are. I currently have two they are my babies, there names are Jenga, and Nikko. They are my christmas babies. And I would do the world for my babies.
It's time to take a look at the irresponsible pet owners, and stop blaming the breed.
Maybe if there were stricter laws for animal abuse, a clear message could be sent. Banning pitbulls could turn into a major tragedy for all pit bulls and pit bull owners.

I believed all the negative publicity about pit bulls until my daughter and her dear friend both became pit-bull owners. I think that their dogs are living proof that, with loving owners and conscientious training, pit bulls--as with any other dog--are wonderful pets. I shudder to think of all the pit bulls who are being abused and abandoned by irresponsible owners, only to lose their opportunity for a "second chance" solely because of the reputation they inherited rather than their potential for "rehabilitation".
Punish the deed, not the breed!!! Petey, the dog from The Little Rascals, was a PIT BULL. These dogs have been portrayed in a bad light by the media for way too long, they need to air the stories about all of the wonderful Pit Bulls owned by loving families that truly care about this breed.
