vive les chiens abats les imbécils qui font du racisme canin!! on a créé ce chien maintenant on veut le détruire??? on se prend pour quoi? pour Dieu? réveillez vous on est que des humains!
My neighboor had a pitbull and he is such a nice little dog, responsable owners and their dogs shouldn't have to suffer due to the negligence of others!
If they tell the truth, it should be the truth, about the real pit bull , the bull dog, the GAME DOG . NOT show dogs, amstaffs or big headed 80 lb blue muts. These so called "pits" that are bred for show and color or for a quick 200 bucks are what has given the true bull dog a bad name and should be looked as a completely separate breed.
Fear is ignorance. Things need to change. I have 2 Am-Staffs and a baby due in 2 weeks. I am excited to see the interaction between my 4 legged kids and my human daughter.
pitbulls are not a people aggresive dog by nature. they are a high spirted breed that love attention and that love the people that give it. they serve as a great family member and are up for anything at any time for they are easy going. I have pitties and so my kids, ages 2 years to 5 are raised with them and they can stick their fingers in their mouths even at feeding time and receive nothing but licks. My dogs range from weeks old to 5 years old and not a one are agerssive towards people. Its poor breeding and lack of knowledge of the pitty that makes this breed feared by people. If more stories were done on teh true a.p.b.t. then their reputation of a good dog would soar high!
it's time to end this ridiculousness! i too, once believed the absurd rumors, can't believe it now, but that was LONG ago, in the late 1980"s, when the breed first got mis-represented!! it's been 15 years since i have seen the true beauty of these dogs, as have so many others, and NOW the time for the others to wake up and use their heads to see the wonderful potential of so many of these handsome, loving, playful, talented dogs is LONG OVERDUE. amazing that some people can be blinded by long-outdated by cheesy hype SO LONG after thier eyes should have been opened........WOW. please don't forward me e-mails from other members, though. i already get more than i can bear to read, considering how many of them break my heart. please keep my name and e-mail adress for the signing of this petition only.
I grew up with English Bulldogs and got my first Pit Bull mix 4 years ago. I've done rescue work for many years dealing with all kinds of dogs from all kinds of back grounds. I have been bit by most of the smaller dogs I cared for and a few of the larger but had never been bit by any of the Pits or Bulldogs I've fostered and trained. I have found them to be very gentle dogs. Very forgiving of past transgretions and mistreatments they have endured.
I currently have an American Bulldog/ Pit Bull mix, Ozzie, doing Pet Therapy work and have piloted a reading program in the local school system, helping reluctant or delayed readers read.I am very proud of the work he does and how well he has aided in the education of the public about the truth about Pit Bulls. I have three children that love their dog and are loved by him equally. Thank you for listening and please consider doing a piece about the "Ture Pit Bull and Pit Bull owners"
I've owned 5 pitbulls in the past 5 years and none of them has shown any aggression towards humans. People need to understand that they are not human aggressive, it all comes down to how they are raised. They need to punish the owners who make their dogs human aggressive.
I've been in Pit Bulls for 12+ years and have never been bitten. This includes literally hundreds of newly acquired adult dogs that don't know me from Adam!
Media coverage and exploitation of pit bulls always focus on the criminal element involved with these animals, never on their temperament, good attributes, etc. That stuff is boring, and doesn't draw viewers like a video of dog fighting or a "vicious pit bull attack" caught on tape. I would be surprised if we see such a segment on TV, because bottom line : It doesn't draw viewers.
I am a proud owner of 7 pits and I love them all!! I would never own another breed...I have a 11 mth. old daughter that they adore!!!! They are my family and I would have it no other way...I enjoy showing them and am proud to say I own two "CH" showdogs. So please...banning this breed is not the answer....that is not the answer!!!!
Living in the Province of Ontario where our Attorney General is trying to push a Pit Bull Ban brings a whole new meaning to shame. Banning breeds is discrimination - there is no real justification to say one type of dog is inherently more dangerous then another. How do you define Pit Bull? A few bad owners can make thousands of responsible owners and dogs look bad. Statistics can be twisted and every crossbreed dog of any breed becomes a Pit Bull. Show us the true picture of pit bulls and why banning breeds is not the answer.
I think this is great. For too long I would be angry at people while walking my friend Daisy who happens to be a Stafordshire Terrier. She is the sweetest dog. and it really physically hurts her feelings when people show fear and say under there breath "Oh there killers" when in reality she loves people and is always happy to have children play with her ears. This was for you Pinky. Your Daddy loves you.
Raised Labs for three years, Got bit 4 times, Raised Pits for Six, Never been bit, I think they should ban those man biters instead. I bet Ducks Unlimited would come to the aid of them..
The only thing coming out of baning pit bull terriers is families every-where are being left in shambles greiving for their lost family member, for that is what our dogs are to us, FAMILY.
Only the unwilling and uneducated will speak negative words about the APBT. I breed love and cherrish this animal like they were my own children. Dogs are no different from humans. Discrimination is wrong no matter what the spiecies.
We need to look past all of the hype and lies. Could you imagine being born with someone just waiting for you to mess up so that they could end your life....never having a fair chance at life? Having someone pretty much pointing their fingers at you and looking down on you for something that someone someone else did. Please research and find the truth and report it. Let our families,(that include our pitbull terriers), live their lives in peace. Yes there are BAD dog owners out there and they need to be punished for what they do. But the dogs should not have to pay for their owners actions to be loosers.
I am a proud owner of many pitbulls,Ihave four children and we all live together in one happy home Iwouldn't have it any other way.I have four pits andfour kids so I consider myself A mother of eight.
I love all sorts of breeds, but the pitbull is the best family dog I have ever had. people need to learn the truth and stop putting down what they dont know.
I have am the proud "parent" of two amazing pits. After my first, I can't imagine ever owning a different breed. They are loving, loyal, have incredible smiles, and have an amazing amount of intelligence. It makes me so angry that the media has caused so much of a breed prejudice that there are laws sanctioning the killing. Imagine be shot on the spot for the way you look! I use my dogs a breed ambassadors, and try our best to educate the ignorant. They are mt=y best friends and are loved by all of the neighborhood children. Heck, if FOX picks this up, I'll even volunteer so they can interview my dogs, lol. I hope I have a smiling butt wigglers in my home for the rest of my life!
Pits make great members of the family. They have proven to be intelligent, affectionate, and loyal companions. It all depends on how they are raised, trained, and socialized... just like any other dog.
It is about time to see a show on the positive side of APBTs. I am tired of seeing Animal Planet show nothing but the negative side of what bad owners have taught them.
This is the first dog I have ever had. My family and I are SO attached to this pitbull, and i cant wait to buy another one! I was a little worried at first because im such an "over-protective mom" but our dog loves us and tolerates my babies better than my in-laws shitzu.
I have a pitbull myself and its a fact that it's the owner/trainers responsibility and not the dogs, just as a child, therefore, I would love to see something like this on the air proving pitbulls are loving and family oriented dogs if properly taken care of.
