I have 4 children and from the time they where born they have been around pitbulls. NEVER once did I EVR have to worry. Pitbulls are not people aggresive.
As a UKC judge I have had my hands on litteraly hundreds of APBTs and not a single one has shown any aggression. They are as the owner wishes them to be.
As a owner of APBT i think it would be a good idea to show the good of the breed with all the Nev. that is alwats on the news.
This is a 100% Fox News whacher
A dog owner should have basic knowlege of dog psychology and simple training skills. A dog is only as good as the loving attention and care it receives from its master/mistress. The pit bull is no different. They are lovely dogs.
I have a 4 yr old daughter and a 3 month old pit. My pit was more protective over my daughter than anyone or anything I have ever seen.I would only have a Pit, I would never own another breed.I trust my pit with my daughter fully without any worries.
I own 2 pitbulls.I have 3 kids, one of them is a 2 yr old toddler. Our pits sleep with my children every night.Pitbulls are not born vicious, they are taught to be mean.We need the public to see what type of love and devotion they are capable of.
Awareness of pitbulls and of all breeds of dog stereotyped as "bad" is so very important. These dogs do make wonderful pets. They are just as loving, playful and loyal as any other dog, if not more so. I wouldn't trade my Pit for the world.
I would'nt never own a pitbull if they didnt like people, expecially being I have children, I have two pitbulls, they are the best breed that Ive ever owned and ever will.....I believe.
that would be awsome if you did a show like that i no a hundred people you can interview well respected people and thier children just how awsome the dogs can be they are not born mean ill start watching fox if you do that show
I have known many pitbulls who have been surrended to the SPCA and come from terrible homes, but they are still affectionate, loveable, playful companions
The media needs to uplift the heroic deeds of so many pit bulls, not sensationalize their headlines with rash statements of false urgency for those few unfortunate incidents that occur.
pit bulls are the most gentle breed and best behaved that anyone could own....thats why I have 3 and they are the only breed I would trust around my child.
im from denver colorado and i have had friends that had to take there pitbulls to the pund to be put asleep b/c the city of denver doesnt allow them within city limits b/c they r deemed a health hazard....thank u for your time
FOX NEWS, you MUST do a segment; you have no idea how many people will watch! Those for and against BSL will be interested. Chicago has one of the largest pit-bull fighting problems. On the entire Chicago police force, there are three men who work to stop it. THREE. Look into it... dog fighting is being done by CHILDREN, desensitizing them and predisposing them to criminal behavior. Do you think that a BSL against pits will stop the fights and the backyard breeding? NO. BSL against pits will only guarantee that you have no more GOOD pits left in your town. And wait until the fighters find another dog that does the job... will that breed be banned too? And what about every dog breed (in the double digits) that looks like a pit but is not? Will they be banned too? BSL is gateway legislation... it only leads to further restrictions!
Portray the ABPT for what it is! A non-human aggressive, wonderful, loving family pet!
To us pitbulls are the most beautiful and loving pet that any family could have. We would not raise our children with any other kind of dog, these dogs love and protect our children more than any other pet that we could ever have. It is irresponsible owners that are giving these poor dogs a bad name, and it is past time that the rest of us stand up for them and put a stop to it!
I am the proud parent of an American pitbull terrier she is 3yrs had her since she was 7 weeks a rescue saved from an auto accident the mother & 6 pups were killed my husband I feel "Diamond" was headed for the fighting ring.she is sweet loving the pride of our hearts.Banning the breed is not going to stop the problem . Responsible owners, stricter control of Puppy Mills and Stopping dogfight by seeing that "The Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act-S.2908" is passed to strenthen fedearl law by feloy level jail time. It is not the BREED it is what the poor Breed is put through. They are Dogs sweet devoted loving animals.
Pit Bulls are wonderful companions when owned responsibly and raised properly. In all my experience with them I have never seen a people agressive pit bull in any of my litters. GOD BLESS the breed and our country. Easy!
I've been a volunteer for a no-kill, all-breed animal rescue group for 7 years. I've had the pleasure of helping many wonderful pitbulls over these years, and I have never met an aggressive pitbull. They are wonderful animals and the lies and discrimination against these gentle, loving creatures must stop.
i never wanted anything to do with "pitbulls" at all untill i finaly got one and since then i now have three of them. i have a six year old son who plays with them all day and they love him as much as his mom and i do. i havent seen a mean bone in our breed except for the stuff you edit out and put on the air to get ratings. you need to do a segment about bad owners and not a bad dog. put a positive segment about the breed and see what great ratings you get.
This is dog discrimination! Too many people generalize about particular dog breeds, especially the Pit Bull. It isn't the dogs that are the problem, it is the owners.
I wish the energy that is put into persecuting specific dog breeds was used to discourage or ban poor breeding practices(puppy mills) that result in bad temperment in any breed.
I could not tell you what a pit bull looked like or acted like prior to my wife bringing one into our home over a year ago. Funny, I'm confused by the stereotype. I have never witnessed a dog that shows so much love & affection then this dog they call a Pit Bull. Image if society stereotyped each and every one of us in the same fashion. What a world it would be. It's a sad thought, just think about it.
If your going to ban one breed, you have to ban them all...if you look at it my way thats descrimination. Its illeagle to do that to humans...why isnt it illeagle to do it to animals. Its like saying "lets ban african americans because there a violent breed of humans" I wouldnt be right to do that to african americans so why would it be right to do that to pitt bulls. What would happen if the government decided to ban your race?? How would you feel? You wouldnt like it, neither would the pitts. They have feelings too.
Let's get the truth out about a great breed that has gotten a bad reputation from a small amount of ignorant owners. The PitBull is one of the most people friendly breeds there is.
I OWN SEVERAL PITS , THAT I SHOW IN CONFORMATION AND WEIGHT PULL. ALL OF MY PITS ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND LOVE CHILDERN. IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT, THERE ARE IRRESPONSILBE DOG OWNERS.PLEASE,PLEASEPUNIS H THE DEED, NOT THE NOT THE BREED.I ALSO THINK IF YOUR GOING TO BAN PIT BULLS,YOU NEED TO BAN ALL OTHER 128 BREEDS THAT ARE CONCIDERED DANGEROUS DOGS, FOR EXAMPLE THE CHOW CHOW. I WAS BITEN BY ONE MYSELF.
I have owned fourteen adult pit bulls so far in my life. Prior to owning these dogs I owned cats. In my experience with these dogs I have learned they are the only animals I would ever trust with my children.
punish the deed not the breed! I have an American Bulldog as part of my family, and they are often classified as "pit bull" breeds and she is the sweetest dog ive ever known. She is wonderful with my 9 month old son who has down syndrome.
Banning a breed only punishes the responsible dog owners. The people creating the problem with unsocialized aggressive dogs are not those who will abide by the law.
The media frenzy has caused a panic of the misinformed public about this great breed.
I happen to own several American Pit Bull Terriers who, show do agility and most importantly work as therapy dogs with children and in a hospital on the oncology floor. Tell me how they can be considered dangerous just because of their breed and the few irresponsible owners and the misinformation about the breed that seems to always be greatly publicized. For once, show this breed in their real light! They are the all around dog ... They cannot only be a loyal family companion, but can also be a therapy dog, agility, obedience, show star, search and rescue, police, service dog and so much more. So I ask ... where are those stories? Also, where are the stories of the ones rescued that where abused and beaten who affectionately lick and wag their tail as they cling to life due to their irresponsible owners who mistreated them????? Where are the stories about the ones in shelters literally dying to be loved????? Where are the stories about dog fighters and irresponsible owners being Punished and not blaming the innocent dogs for the behavior of their human counterparts??????
i have owned pitbulls & am-staff's never had one aggressive to people, these are wonderful misunderstood dogs, that sadly fall into the wrong hands.punish the deed not the breed!
I found a stary pitbull yesterday who looked like it had been beaten, used for fighting and looked as though she had been bred many times due to the size of her nipples. When I caught her, she cowered, pu her head in my hands and sat as still as the rain.
She smelled of urine and feces. I can't even imagine the pain she has been put through.
Now you tell me something...What did SHE do wrong? Why is SHE being banned?
Let's get to the bootom of this problem. Bad owners, not bad dogs.
