for America pride an joy.....please help us show that pitbulls are great pets, its the owners that make them mean everyone or thing can be taught to kill...
I hope you will consider giving a story like this a chance. I always have at least one along with my other breeds because they're terrific dogs.
Be different from the other news casts with this and tell the public about the real & genuine pit bull just as you've done in the political circles.
I don't believe you are being fair. This breed of dog is just as kind as any other if the owner treats it with kindness. Crack down on the people who breed them for fighting.
Thank you.

There are so many other ways, instead of banning a specific
breed. There have been no genetic evidence that one breed of dog is
more dangerous than another. The problem does not lie in the dogs, or
even in the laws themselves the problem lies in the dog owners and the inability to enforce the laws already in place. I have a pit bull who is the most amazing, lovable, dog, and just amazing with people and children! BSL dosen't work!
I own dobermans which are another breed often discriminated against. Our animals lives are a reflection of how we treat them. Viscious people should be banned. Anyone who treats animals as poorly as these dogs are treated should be put in jail for life. The plight of animals is a terrible reflection of our society. Unfortunately the truth does not change based on our ability to stomach it.
The so-called 'bad' Pits are those that are not properly socialized like ANY dog!!! Every Pit and Staffie I've been introduced to have been gems. Now let's talk about Dachsunds...now those are piranha! What needs to be banned are those people that don't raise or breed the dogs properly, I have a Rottie and he gets the same slack and he's the world's biggest baby!!!
My pit is the biggest baby in the world. Stop blaming my dog for the stupidity of other humans. I had to search for homeowners insurance because he's been put into a category and we've been discriminated against.
the idea alone is ridiculous. to think that the breed of a dog determines its personality is the dumbest thing ever.you souldnt take away the dog, you should take away the owner.
I have trained my pit bull since she was 8 wks old. She had some bad habits but we took care of it with lots of training and consistency. Dogs are dogs, all dogs will have bad behavior traits if they are not trained and looked after. Get to know a pit bull before judging them, and allow young pit bulls the opportunity to be socialized. Dogs can smell fear, and the media hype does not help lessen the paranoia other dog owners are inventing in themselves. Pit bulls are not dangerous, like any dog, they need to be properly trained and socialized.
i have three pit bull and i would not trade them for the world.i also have three children that my pits love to be around.these dogs have a bad rap because of the people who rase them not because they are born to be mean.i also have a lab. that would not let around me kids because he is to hyper and has been known to bite. so why do we not hear about labs and other dogs biting people on the news.i can promise you that i will never own another breed only pits for me and my family from now on
My bully is the sweetest dog you could meet. He loves children. My lab passed away one week ago and my bully is still depressed. The lab was more "viscious" than the "pit bull". Everyone who meets him, loves him. Even the cat, foo-foo. I love my animals and the bad press they recieve because of irresponsible people is unfair.
Focus on the people who own the pit bulls not the dogs themselves as therein lies the problem. The dogs are a reflection of those who raise them. Any dog can be mean, as any person can be mean. Any dog can be kind, as any person can be kind.
The animals are living creatures with feelings. All living things on this earth should be treated with love and kindness no matter how many legs, fins or arms they may have. Stop the hate and ignorance.
I own 2 Pit Bulls and NEVER had a problem with them. One of my Pit bulls is a Certified therapy dog. I also volunteer at my local shelter where we have mostly Pit bulls. Even the most abused ones that come in are people friendly. Its time that the media show the true nature of this wonderful breed.
My son was bitten by a pit bull 4 years ago and he spent over a week in the hospital. After that incident I acquired a very negative feeling towards these dogs. Seeing my son bleeding and being able to see the bones in his hands just completely freaked me out. After seeing the video clip on the treatment of these animals I just had to sign this petition. No animal deserves the treatment they are receiving.
Pit bulls are not a dangerous breed of dog, the owners raising them make them aggressive. Not all owners do this. All the owners of pitt bulls that I now have very gentle loving animals, Not aggressive ones.
I love pit bulls and they shouldn't get banned just because a pit bull (that might have been abused )attacked a child because people should watch their kids around any kind of dog .
This morning I discovered a not new reason (again) why people should be good animals. (bomb-reportionat some chemical factory) We simply need them! And next to that: no discrimination for any animal!
Our 2 pit bulls are wonderful. People always say how beautiful and well behaved they are, but as soon as they ask what kind of dogs they are, their mood changes. It's time that the media starts reporting the TRUTH about this wonderful breed.
i have 2 of the best dogs of any dogs i have ever had. yes they r pitbulls and i love them very much everyone should b as lucky as me to own this wonderful breed
All to often when the APBT is shown on TV it is in a negative way and its usually due to irresponsible ownership. This does not account for the majority of responsible owners out there.
If you want to solve dog ownership problems, you have to first see what the problem is. The key is responsible ownership. Any dog can be aggressive, any dog can be safe. What needs to be addressed is owner responsibility and liability. Proper enforcement of leash laws and education about pet safety would be the only right solution.
