I agree 100% it is the owners not the breed!I just read that in 2000 a 8 week old baby was killed by a 4 pound pomeranian!Why are they not being banned?The only reason why Pits are being labled as vicious is the "jaw" thing if they bite they will tear you apart but if you train them NOT TO BITE you will not need to worry! no one believes my Pit is a Pit because he is so lovey dovey and no where near viscious ----why? ....because I trained him that way! :)
Its adamn shame in the world we live in that we cant hold the right people resonsible without labeling all of us.Hell i can train a cocker spaniel to tear your leg off so why discriminate against us.
Pit Bulls are not the vicious breed that the media has shown them to be. They can be made that way at the owners training and by neglect and abuse, but it isn't their nature. Their nature is loyalty and loving.
We have to address the problem of the wrong people owing dogs, of any kind. All dogs have the potential to be bad, pit bulls are no exception just like all dogs can be good, again a well cared for, loved pit bull will be an amazing friend.
Cruelty to animals should be PUNISHED! The macho-type drug-dealing owners and back-yard puppy mill-owners should be put in jail for turning these loyal dogs into attack-dogs.
I have owned all kinds of dogs, among them, German Shepherds, Rott’s, Alaskan Huskies, Malamutes, and in my experience the American Pit Bull Terrier is the most intelligent, loyal and Trust worthy of them all. A great all around family dog.
Dogs only act on Learned Behavior. Its the way they are trained. Its not like a vicious behavior is inherited. The owners of mean dogs should be punished, not the PitBull breed itself. You dont see Chihuahuas making the news if they bite someone.
best dog i have ever had. its not the breed it is the owner that creates a mean animal. i have a scare from my moms poodle when it bit me 5 yaers ago. i am yet to even have my pit nip a t me or my young nephews.
I never used to like pit bulls until my daughter got one while my wife and I were out of town during Christmas. At first we told her that her dog, Boo had to go but we gradually got to know Boo better. Now, Boo is a great addition to the family. I have never met a more friendly dog than Boo.
Any breed of dog can be a viscious dog...if you did half the things pit bulls have done to them to a golden retriever, they would have a bad rap too. Pit Bulls are responsible for less than 3% of bites in America. Keep that in mind!!
FOX should definately do a show on the truth about pitbulls. I love my pitbull and its not fair to punish a whole breed especially innocent dogs like my pup.
My pit is the best friend I ever had. He is so gentle and playful and so smart. Its the owners who don't raise their dogs right who should be punished, not a whole breed!!
I would be lost without my pit, Romeo. He is so smart and friendly and he is great with my 6-year old daughter. The problem is that some owners neglect their dogs and treat them poorly or fight them. Just like people, it is all in how you raise them.
I have a pitbull her and my baby brother grewup tegether. My brother would pull her tail and ears and he never got bit. She weight about 60 lbs but acted like she was a lap dog.
The media has a HUGE responsibility to the public THEY SERVE to get the truth out there. I hope the efforts of this petition will be heard, and the truth told.
i own 2 pitbulls , they're very good and playfull dogs .i don't think it is right to band pitbulls because there mean . it all depends on how the dogs r raised
I own 2 pit bulls, a pomeranian and a chihuahua. They never have any problems at all. My chihuahua is a better guard dog then my pit bulls are. I have found that pit bulls are the most loving breed of dog there is and I will own pit bulls for the rest of my life.
I have 2 pitbulls and 2 cats and many young family members. Ive Never had any problems. a pit bulls natural personality is extreemly loyal and loving. not the "they will turn on you" kind of stereo type theyve been givin because of how @sswholes dicided to use them for their own greed and entertainment. Im realistic and am awear that some accidents happen and that some are agressive thats why owners of ANY size or breed of dogs should be educated and awear of the capabilitys of their animal. My point is any animal that has teeth is capable of biteing some one. enphisize the word ANIMAL. all animals derived from the wild and have those natural instincs, so those chosen to be domesticated should be domesticated by people who are educated aand have most of all the time and attention to give their animal. ultimately most of our animals actions come from how we trained them to be or lack their of training. And the media needs to stop cashing in on the peoples fear of pitbulls because of their bad rep. I think the banning of pitbulls is discrimanative and should be considerd unconstitutional. we are a free country that allows us the fredome of speach, religion, to own guns. And even own domesticated animals. who is to say what breed i can and cant own and where i can or cant live because i owna spacific breed. In the state of florida only the german sheperd is considerd a deadly weapon and is mandated to be registerd and licenced along with the owner with the state. So why are pitbulls the only ones being banned in dade county. and other countys and states following right behinde them. "Punish the deed not the breed". And befor that eduacte the ignorant.
I have a few APBT & i use them for hunting wild hogs and they have to get along with the rest of the hunting dogs and with them (APBT)i dont get to put the pork on the table and yes i do know they sale pork at the store but it is better if u know here it come from . From someone that works the APBT
just love the breed and have been around pits for a few yrs and have always have good standings with them ... hope the breed can keep being strong and wise !
I have 2 APBT's and 2 cats. My cats do more harm than my dogs do. My daughters have been around APBT's thier intire life. The truth about these dogs needs to be known to all who fear them, hate them and want them banned. They need to know anything and everything good about them. People need to know.

SOCIALIZE THE DOG IT WAS THEIR FAULT AND THEIR JOB TO TAKE CARE OF THE DOG .FEEDING AND KINDNESS GOES ALONG WAYS WITH A DOG
i have a 9 month old pit and he is the most wonderful dog i have ever had. he is very well behaved and has never shown aggression. you can make ANY animal mean...its all in how u raise 'em.
I am a owner of a few pits and people these days dont want to give these big babies a chance in life.When someone sees a pit the automatically think its gonna attack. I have all ages of children and both male and female around my dogs and i have never had a problem. All of my dogs get along with cats and any other animal including same sex of dogs. People just need to give these dogs the love they want and they wouldnt have such a bad name. If they would take this breed away from the owners who mistreat them then there wouldnt be aproblem. Its all on how they are raised and who the owners are.
My Pit Bull shares our home with 2 chihuahuas, a toy poodle, and a cat...she's never met anyone or anything she didn't want to kiss and smack affectionately with her tail,lol!
I hope that Fox News seriously considers doing o piece on the REAL pitbull. Pits are THE most misunderstood breed in existance today and they deserve for the general public to see what wonderful, loving and stable dogs they are.
if we ban pit bulls due to the actions of a dew, does this mean governments will start banning immigrants from certain countries, based on the actions of a few already here?
Unfortunately, the media is to blame for creating such hysteria about Pit Bulls - it's sensationalistic & incorrect biased reporting but it does grab the attention of the reader and that's all the press cares about. Just because of a few 'macho' assholes, all responsible owners of Pit Bulls and other supposedly 'vicious dogs' have to suffer the brunt of these attacks and accusations from uninformed people who believe everything that they read in the papers.
I currently own an APBT that is getting training for Therapy Dog work and as well as run an organization for APBT therapy dogs. BSL is not the answer. APBT are not mean nor are any breed of dog. If this is not stoped, one day there will be no animals on the planet because they are all outlawed.
