I would like to see a fair and well researched piece on the American Pit Bull Terrier. It saddens me to see how many people are fearful of these wonderful dogs. This would be a great opportunity to shatter a stereotype.
APBT's are not at all human aggressive. It is not in their nature to be human aggression. Many dogs that are deemd APBT's by the media when an attack or bite occurs are not in fact APBT's at all or are only mixes. The image of the APBT as it is portrayed by some (the tough, vicious dog jerking on a chain) is not an accurate representation of our breed.
We have two APBT, and two Am Staff's. We also have four children that the dogs love and protect. I wouldn't take any other breed to have in our house, they have a temperment to die for. It is all in how we raise them, PUNISH THE DEED, NOT THE BREED
We feel that this could be extremley important for all involved, education as well as focusing on RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP, to many of the dogs are owned by irresponsible owners who can hardly care for themselves let alone care for a doh that carries such a weight on its shoulders as it is. WE ARE ALL FOR THE POSITIVE PRESS.
We have two pitbulls at our house and they are some of the most loving dogs there are. they are a lot more loving than the Labs that the rest of our family have. But the rest of the family are more scared of our loving pits than they are of their "wonderful" Labs.
i am currently owned by a pitty who had lost a leg from cruelty. it is time that we show the world how they truly are- wonderful!she is great with my 4yo and with everyone!!
My Boy Brindy is such a big galoot. His heart is about as big as Texas, he is very loving and a fierce protector of me and other children that come to my home. PUNISH THE DEED, NOT THE BREED.
Look at the fact and the statistics! The media only wants to hear about a Pit Bull attack not a German Shepherd! It's whatever makes the money... My Pit Bulls are better behaved and better with kids than my Mom's Lab and my Aunts Lab.
My APBT is the most willing to please and loving creature I have ever come across. Environment has everything to do with it. He is an ambassador of this breed.

My boyfriend and I have been showing and breeding apbt/ast for about five years. I would never own any other breed of dog. They are the most loyal and loving dogs, they just need owners that are responsible and will love them back
