I have always owned a pit-bull and they are very loving dogs. Very affectionate and devoted pets. I have also had 6 children and grandchildren with my pets and never have the dogs ever been aggressive, even when the kids pull on their tails or try to ride them. The Pit-bulls (or any other animal) are only aggressive if the owners train them to be or abuse them.
I have never owned a pit but I have owned several dogs, and one I believe to be a Pit mix. A dog can be trained to be passive or aggressive, it is up to the owner.
i have had 4 pits and they were all great. ive owned pits since my 4 yr old was born and never had a problem. my pit sleeps with us and protects my family especially my daughter.ban the people who make them mean. its been proven that labs and cocker spaniels were top of the list and pits were rated 4th from the bottom. bad people not bad breeds punish them not the innocent. my pit lives with 2 cats and a farret...said enough
Pit Bulls truly are the best dog breed!! They are smart, loyal, LOVING and have the best temperment! They DO NOT deserve the bad, untruthful reputation they have been given, nor shouel they be discriminated against any longer!
pitbulls are nothing like what the public percieve them to be. Through the fault of the media and bad owners these dogs have gained an unworthy reputation. It's about time the media stopped there bullshit lies and reported the truth about these dogs.
My pit bulls are the most wonderful dogs. Children play with them constantly without problems. And while some are said to be dog agressive, both of mine play with one another without problems and with other dogs without problems. The dog that I own that I would worry about biting someone is actually my tiny rat terrier. People are the problem-dogs are not born vicous. Vicousness is a personality trait and anyone with an education would know that a personality is developed by the environment surrounding the person or animal.
I got a bittbull and he is the most biggest loveable teddy bear ever. He loves kids and everyone. There are some mean pitts out there but, there are alot of other breeds out there that also have a bad attitude. Bad owners eachers have bad dogs (any breed) there are plenty of bad dogs out there besides a pittbull!! I just lost my female because a cop shot her in the head because he was scared... and she was in my vehicle!
My pit bull is loved by every person who meets him, we always get comments on how well behaved he is, and his roomate is a cat! I am Producer, who will gladly help/assist to work on such a piece, please contact me if they do this.
My pitt bull is docile, extremely gentle with children, always friendly to other dogs and totally loyal and loving toward me. Unlike the golden retriever next door who barks and snaps at anyone walking by. My point is, a bad owner can ruin even a breed with a good name like the Golden Retriever. Owners create problem dogs, dogs don't just "become" vicious.
I am the proud owner of a 3 year old nuetered rescued staffordshire terrier and have never owned a more affectionate, lovable, intelligent, funny and so, so full of personality dog in my life.
I have worked in Animal Hospitals for years and 99.9% of the pit bulls that I have encountered have been sweet. It is bad owners not bad dogs that should be banned.
I have 2 pitbulls at my home, and they are the sweetest, smartest 2 dogs I've ever had. Dawn who was a Mother when I rescued her, has helped me tremendously with more rescue puppies I had. Their Mother was adopted, but they still wanted to nurse on someone, so Dawn let them nurse on her, and would lay with them until they went to sleep, then get up and come back to be with me. Precious dogs. PEOPLE are the problem. Get rid of these bad people, not the sweet innocent pits.
My sister adopted a pit bull mix from a shelter where I walked dogs. He is wonderful with her 3 grandsons - 10 mos, 11 mos. & 3 yrs. A wonderful companion!
I've had many breeds of dogs my whole life but 8 years ago I got my first pitbull and fell in love with the breed. Doing rescue I've had many pits come thru my home and they have all been wonderful sweet companions. They've made the best family pets I have ever seen. Loyal, sweet, great with kids and other animals, intelligent, and always wanting to please they're caretaker. Which is why they are so easily taught to be bad, out of no fault of they're own just wanting to please they're master. The sick sadistic individuals that abuse they're dogs to make them aggresive and mean are the ones who neeed to be banned and euthanized not the pitbull.
well, lets just say a few bad apples{owners, not dogs}spoil it for everyone. There can be no more noble a pet than a well trained and socalize pitbull, the unconditional love that its owner will receive is beyond me to describe.Only the owners of this magestic dog know of what I speak!
I personally have never owned a pitbull but have had contact with many. Any of the problems we have with these beautiful creatures stems from irresponsible breeding and irresponsible ownership!
At first I was afraid of pitbulls, until my sister got one and it was the dog itself that disproved the preconceived notion that they are vicious. The owners make them that way, people torture and hurt these dogs to make them aggressive. He, and his sister, are the sweetest, most gentle and loving animals I ever had the pleasure of knowing. They have never shown any agression to other animals or children. My cat is meaner than they are.
The media never shows the positive side to these dogs. This should be addressed as well. We also need to take a very good look at the people that have aggresive dogs. Irresponsible pet owners are the ones that should be looked at.
Our APBT ("pit bull") is without any doubt the sweetest dog anyone has ever been around. He is such a positive representative of such a misunderstood breed. Constant socialization and fairness in training have led Sammy to be a much loved and much valued resident of his neighborhood. Even non dog-lovers can't help but smile when they see Sammy's huge smiling face coming up to them.
I think sometimes actually pitbulls can become aggressive on there own yea owner may teach them to ,but there ARE some oout there who are aggressive .They can be wonderful dogs, but alotta times very scary.
No dog is born aggresive, they are taught to be aggressive. In the right home Pits can be such wonderful pets. I have 2 myself and I have never seen any sign of aggressive behavior.
pitbulls are the most loyal and very obiedient dogs they love just as much love as you show them its not the dog thats are horrable its the owner thats makes the dog the dog dont make the owner.
We believe that if FOX News gets involved in the truth about the American pitbull terrier -the american people will have all the true facts! EVEN the tv show, Animal Control, has animal officers stating how finding fought pitbulls in horrible physical conditions that they were not agressive to people.
We owned Pits for 7 and 9 years! Our dogs..one female and one male never showed any aggression. We took them everywhere! We maade them part of our family. Agression is taught. Even when not intended. Playing rough with hands instead of toys, etc. The breed has many wonderful qualities, and we truely miss ours. One died of a brain tumor, one dug out and was hit when no one was home! We would get more. We love this breed!
I have an American Pit Bull mix and he is the most well rounded dog we've owned in 30 years of canine companionship! We can take him ANYWHERE and expose to him to any situation and he is nothing but a complete gentleman! Many breeds are wrongly labeled because of irresponsible actions of humans...this is a wonderful breed that deserves to have both sides told!
People should be more informed about this breed. They are wonderful dogs and in the hands of people that are out to exploit them gives the breed a bad name.
This breed is one of the sweetest I've come across in rescue. It breaks my heart to see the reaction on people's faces when someone talks about them. Of course none of those people have ever met one. They are a wonderful breed!
Please do a show about how wonderful this breed can be. We own 5 pits and have never had any problem. We have a 5 year old and I babysit. All of our dogs are great with the kids. All you need is proper socialization and training.
My husband and I have a 3 year old pit mix who was rescued from a horrible owner! When we got him, he had broken free of a metal chain since he had several broken teeth. Also, he had several scrapes all over, was malnourished and had three shotgun pellets in him!! We wouldn't dare give him up for the world. He is the most docile dog I've ever known and gets along wonderfully with our two other dogs.
I have two pitbulls of my own. They have been in class rooms for show and tell. They have been the best dogs I have worked with and I have worked with a lot of rescues. Please don't ban our pitbulls for they are truly angels
I have rescued many Pit Bulls fro m shelters and fostered them until finding the best home from them. My husband and I have a Pit Mix and he is the most loving and wsweetes, humble boy ever. We love the breed and try educating as many people as possible of their gentle nature and love for kids and other dogs.
