my daughter has a pitbull and it is the most loving dog that i have ever been around, licking you to death would be the only harm he would ever do to you. I believe it is all in the way that you raise the dogs, in the past there have been many problems with several other breads of dogs and they have never been baned.
There are no problem dog breeds, only problem owners who are not responsible enough to take the time to learn about the breed or enough energy to train their animals properly.
As usual the problem lies with irresponsible owners and misinformation. There is also much confusion over the different 'bull' breeds which doesn't help understanding.
I own two pitbull and all that I can say is that its is the best breed of dog for me... Pitbulls are not naturally aggressive, they are actually loving and playful pets.. my 3-year old niece really loves our dogs... When a dog becomes aggressive we need not to blame the dog but we must look on how he was raised... much of the dog's attitude was based on how it was raised... LET'S CURSE THE DEED NOT THE BREED!!!
ITs about time the media does the breed justice and show the pit bull a positive light and what great companions they are, not the few animals that are mistreated and beat on. All these dogs need is love.

I originally had pit bulls and now have Am Staff's. I have been around many dogs, but have found the bull breeds to be incredibly loving, intelligent and trainable. These dogs have been my life and I am spoiled for any other breed.

hello im the father of five and all my kids have been raised with pitbulls and we have even bought full grown dogs an have never seen one be aggressive in no manner.if they are so aggressive why do you see them in most movies.....kid shows at that

ANY animal that is mistreated and abused is going to be hateful and defensive. The same as a human would react. They don't call these dogs NANNY dogs for nothing. Always watching and waiting to help.

We as pitbull owners need to be more responsible is socializing our dogs and those who breed need to be more selective as to who you sell the dogs to and that would greatly decrease the bad publicity this wonderful breed gets.

I ask that Fox do some research and offer a program on this subject. Breed banning is just not logical~it`s simply a band-aid effort by the bureocrats to appease those that don`t understand Pit Bulls and other breeds now being branded as "viscious" by those not familiar with those particualr breeds. Genetics, handling, and environment play their part in any individual dog`s temperament~and the owners and breeders are responsible there. There are good and bad dogs in any breed you care to look at--be it a Pit Bull, GSD, Poodle, or Shnauzer. Breed descrimination or banning is just wrong.
Our american pit bull was the best dog,perhaps the very best loyal gentlest dog my family ever had..
It was great around the kids and never once growled or wnet innsanely crazy with agressiveness. Just like other dogs, if you raise it with love, love it gives!

There is no logic in banning just one breed. If you ban pit bulls you will be punishing the wrong people. The people who raise these dogs poorly have already proved that they are willing to break the law. You will only be punishing the hardworking honest citizens. I agree that pit bulls can be dangerous if raised by the wrong people.But so could many other breeds. If pit bulls are banned wrongful, criminal owners will just abopt another breed with the potential to be just as vicious. The only way to stop this problem would be to ban all dogs. But after that I'm sure someone will think of some other way to abuse nature's gifts to us.

BSL legislation is wrong. Dogs should be judged by their behavior and bit because they are of a specific breed.
It is also a known fact that Golden Retrievers are one of the breeds most responsible for unprovoked attacks on humans. There are many dog laws in effect that cover many of these issues. We need mored enforcement of the existing laws and not additional laws that will make owning a dog difficult for a responsible, law abiding owner. The criminals will still do what they will do regardless of what the laws state.

The first dog I fell inlove with was a pitbull named Alice, great dog! It is unfortunate that so many people who own dogas arent responsible dog owners. i live near a dog beach and can NEVER walk my little dog anywhere near because other dog owners have their dogs off the leash even on the boardwalk. Last weekend my dod almost was attacked by a pitbull off of it's leash on the boardwalk. I was so worried about my dog & the consequences that poor dog would face if it did get a hold of my dog. It would have been tragic for all involved, if you have a dog..pick up it's poop, keep it on a leash when appropriate, and love it with all your heart.
I have been a owner of 2 pitbulls and they were absolute loving members of our family. Animals show what they have been shown. Nine out of ten times it is the owner that has the problem and not the pet or pitbull in this case!

We have a 2 year old girl and a 7 year old boy, who have grown up around ABPT all their lives. Dogs of any breed can be aggressive. A dog is ALWAYS a reflection of it's owner. APBT's have been subjective to the worst stereotypes imaginable. The media is a vechile used to help spread these false accusations about the breed to those who who are ignorant of the breed. Everyone of our dogs are a part of our extended family. I get personally offended with those owners of ABPT who FLUIL the fire. They don't care for the integrity of the breed, but they concentrate soley on the awesome power the APBT possesses. I am changelling FOX news to give an unbiased report of the APBT. Why can't I see for once a report about the good that APBT's does? like saving lives....
I think that pits are only aggressive when they are trained to be or abused just like n e other dog or even human in fact, what people say about pits arent true and people need to step up n stop listening to what people say about pits and blame there owners if they are aggressive
