This is the best thing could possible happen for all of the pitbull lovers out there! The rest of the world should know that we love and care for these animals because they are the most loyal and respectful dogs of all!
This is just what we need to make the public open there eyes and see the truth about the APBT. They will be what ever the owner wants it to be. Its just a shame that they end up in the hands of idiots.
I think that if a Pit Bull is treated with kindness and love, they will not be anymore aggressive than anyother breed. I had a Pit Bull , but I had to put him down, God rest his soul. Pit Bulls are some of the most affectionate breed. Don't do away with the breed, but do away with the people that give the breed a bad name.
The first time I laid my eyes on my first pit bull, I fell in love. She was about 15 months old when I went to first see her. I went along with my Sister and Brother-in-law and my 3yr old nephew. I was surprised to see how calm the dog was even with my nephew climbing on her, over her, and even with a couple of head-buts. She is so awesome and can't understand why people believe they would "attack" a person out a "natural killer instincts". Bad parents breed bad children(dogs).
pitbulls are the most affectionate breed ever! they are the poor creatures envisioned as monsters because of bad press and plain ignorance regarding the breed... understand and know the breed first before judge it.
I own several pitbulls and am not afraid to let my son play with any of them these animals are not naturally human aggresive they are made that way by irresponsible owners!
I have a Pit Bull mix and he is the biggest sweetheart!! As I see someone else has noted, he would like you to death before he would ever hurt anyone. He is just a loving baby that all he wants is love. It all has to do with how you raise them!!
i have several American Pit Bull Terriers. I am not afraid to let my son play with any of them. I have been watching all of the so called "Humane" groups on tv, and have found that the majority of the time that someone mentions a "Pit Bull" it usually turns out to be a mix breed, but noone ever clarifies that on the show. The dogs are getting alot of the blame for stuff that they are not responsible for.
I am co-founder of Ethical Bull Breed Rescue and Referral, www.ebbrr.org We need to work on promoting responsible pet ownership and breed education to potential new owners. These dogs have so much to offer the right family, please don't support BSL
I am a proud onwer a an american red nose. I would not trade him for anything in the world. When people walk by us together they grab their kids and walk away. I wish for once Someone could show them that they would lick you to death before they ever came close to hurting you.
As a proud owner of 2 male Pits I am happy to announce that I have found the smartest breed that exists. I love my boys. They are my family. My one boy I have had for 10yrs and NO he has never bit anyone and I am tired of people asking. Spend time with the breed and you will find a highly intelligent and completely human dog.It still amazes me how my boys can read my emotions.I fight everyday to educate those around me. I guess it starts with a few. A Proud APBT owner, now and forever.
Ineed it is all about the way you rasie them up. Mostly if anyone does look up even the truth t0o fighting pits, they would see, they was trained to only be dog aggressive, not people. Cause there is a person in the ring with them. Dont forget about that cold hard fact. I had a pit. Large head very much a stud. I got pregnant with twins, and could not walk him due to my bed rest reg. I had to place him up for adoption. He is with a good family now, that makes me feel so good.. It took somewhere around 3 months to find him a home.
So think and do some research before you open your mouth about saying they... "They" or "Thoese" .. Did you ever like it when you was reffered to as Thoese people, you people, and so on. Its a dog, if you want to know the truth.. try asking.
I was one of the people who had heard all of the bad about pitbulls. My husband talked me into going and looking one and that was nine years ago. I would not take anything for our dogs. They are the most loyal animal I have ever seen. They seem to have a built in sense of right and wrong and I will tell you right now that if one of mine takes a dislike to someone I usually give them a second look because the dog picked up on something I did not. I have three children and trust my dogs implicitly with them. Please help us save this noble breed!!
stop the madness it is not the breed but the owners some people just should not own this breed everyone you gets a pit should be screened and a back ground check done on them if they have every been in jail for drugs or any other felony they should not be given this breed of dog simple fact or even spousal abuse stop the madness on this breed
well,to start off jimmy carter own american pitbull terier, and at one time the university of OKLAHOMA,s mascott was and APBT,AND IT WAS BURIED IN THE MIDDLE OF OWEN FIELD AT ONE TIME!
If people would take
the time,to educate
theirselfves,insteed
of jumpping on the
"ban"wagon...we all know that negative news sells & boost ratings, but try picking up a book,sometime...
cause the mind is a terrible thing to waste..ive had these dogs since the early 70,s and
might i add my children still have all their fingers...
makes you wanta go..
Hummmmmmmm....?just like firearms if placed in the wrong
hands,it will make the 6 o'clock news!
there are too many
clowns that think these dogs are a fasion statement...
well last time i checked, they werent
called:NIKE,FUBU,OLDNAVY, OR even..shaun john....last time i checked there was such thing, called RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS.....AND LAST TIME I LOOKED THERE WAS A CONSTITUTION!
it is never the dogs fault as to how he behaves. it is all a matter of how he is raised. a lab is just as likely to attack as a pit when raised under the exact same conditions
as the owner of my 2nd pitbull, it outrages me to see them reported so badly. I hav3 3 children who I raised with my male bull, and he was our best friend. Hiking, swimming, camping, and even across country vacation from Ohio to Colorado!!! We miss him terribly, and have gotten a female pittbull when our male died unexpectantly. She is becomming as wonderful as Zeus. A true friend to a family in need after the loss of their best friend.
You shouldnt punish dogs just because they are a certain breed. this is exactly like racism! like that commercial where the black guy walks on to the elevator and the white lady holds on to her stuff tighter! now they should make a commercial about doggy racism! just like not every black man is the same, not every pitbull is the same! having a pitbull myself, i would not want anyone to treat him any different than they treat other doggys! he is my baby and i know he wouldnt hurt a soul unless he felt really threatened!
It is so sad that people don't understand these great family pets. Labs and Cocker spaniels have a higher bite rate on humans than the APBT. Educate don't Discriminate!
After 30 years around these dogs I have never once been bitten. I have been to many many yards without a problem, have bred many a litter and currently have quite a few dogs. Still I have never so much as felt threatened by any of the dogs I have come in contact with.
Pitbulls are the smile on my face everyday along with my daughter. I have two females, that I adore since the day I adopted them. They are loyal and dedicated to me, and my family. My cuddle bears...
My sister owns the 2 sweetest dogs in the world, they are pitbulls that have been raised with love and kindness. They are constant compamions of her 2 children.
Ignorance, fear and abuse are our enemies, not a specific breed of canine.
We run a pit bull rescue, and most of the pit bulls we take in have been abused. But they are not showing any aggressive behavior towards us or our three children!
Punish the Deed Not the Breed.
Pit Bulls are the most loving, devoted, and loyal, they will do anything to have love from a human.. In 17 years I have had pit bulls, and have never had problems with them being aggressive towards me or my children
They should have rights just like any other breed.
Poison Ivy Pits
We need to promote postive images and get our dogs more involved in the community with non-profit organisations. The media has promoted such negative images that people are afraid to walk on the same side walk as my dogs. I take my dogs to the local convalesent home and volunteer with the elderly. I have small children and animals and they are fine. Why don't we see the media doing 30 sec news breifs on that?
There could not be a sweeter, more gentle dog than the pit we rescued from the shelter. She is GREAT with all people and other animals, including our three cats.
I originally bought into the "pit" hype, and therefore I was afraid of them. When my younger sister got one as a pet, my views immediately changed. The only thing frightening about a pit bull is the way some monster-owners exploit them. It is these owners that should be punished and treated as lepers, not the animals that they have taken advantage of. I have learned that these dogs are just like every other breed around. They are playful, cheerful, and great company for humans and other dogs. My sister was right. She has a wonderful dog, and one to be proud of.
I have had these dogs for many years and have never had one that was aggressive towards people.
They are great with my children, and they love them back .
All these dogs need are responsible owners and they would recieve the credit they are due.
That I'd like to see a news segment say the truth about are dogs iv'e had many pitbulls in my life and never had one bite somebody.
I think that it should always go back to the owner not raising the dog right.
Now dont get me wrong you get you human aggressive dogs every once and a while but don't you get you human aggressive human more often?
So I leave you the media with this these dogs deserve a chance to be seen for what they really are very very good pets if the owner take the responsiblity of raising the dog right and following the rules that have been set out for all of us owners such as keep your dog under control if you can't do that than seek a different breed.
Also I agree with 4407 Christina because for years my mother has watched these false reports on pitbulls and i'd say seven years later she's owning her first pitbull and besides the allergies she love's the dog.
