Dear Fox News -
I have owned a pit bull for over two years. It is the sweetest and most gentle dog I have ever owned.I would greatly appreciate someone doing a news story debunking some common misconceptiosn about this breed.
NBC Chicago just did a positive press story about pitties. It's time that others in the media realize that they have the power to get the proper informatiomn out to the general population. www.chicagopitbulls.org
I have owned and will only own pit bulls. there love for us is intense. all they want to do is please us. I've been biten by a german shepard, rott, chuhuahua and a welsh corgi!! Never by a pit though. Not even a mother with her litter bit me when I pick one of them up. So, please, don't punish the breed, punish the deed and the owners.
please fox news do segment for our beloved pits. this breed is not in nature agresive or vicious or a big threat to us and to our children. the real threat to us are the owners it self who have use and train theres dogs for some very vicious personal use. please to this so all people who have negative insights on this breed will be educated. lets do support this breed lets don't waste what a great breed we had.
People need to take a look at the softer side of Pitbulls. It is not the breed it is who raises it & what it learns from it enviroment. Please do not hesitat to contact me if you would like further proof of an exceptionally great pitbull. Please help pit lovers everywhere to get the word out so maybe there can be a change in others views. Just like a race, you cant blame the entire breed after one dog.
The American Kennel Club cites the pit bull as one of the most loyal, affectionate breeds today and states they are a particularly good breed for children!!!!!!!
Pit Bulls can be excellent dogs. In fact my sister owns one, and he is one of the best dogs I've ever met. He is WONDERFUL with children and elderly people alike. Maybe in the future you should take a look into the living conditions and owner's actions of the ones that do cause problems. You'll find out real quick why those dogs act that way. Don't let a breed of wonderful dogs get a bad name because of a few lousy owners.
I think that pits are the loyalist and loving breed of dogs they are excellent at protecting you and are wonderful with children I hope that Fox news is fair when doing a segment on pitbulls and show the side that nobodys seems to see unless you are an owner that is the gentle caring side
I urge Fox News to help us take a stand and show the other side of pits. They are loving, loyal dogs who live to please their owner. Do a true investigation on the majority of these dogs and see for yourself and share it with the public. The media always seems to show only the bad and what they want the public to know. Be honest and show the other side.
As an owner of a pitbull, I can testify to their gentle loving nature when treated with love and kindness. Our pit has never been agressive towards anyone in the 6 years we have had him
I not only own one but have fostered pits as well. I am very proud to say my fosters changed several minds about the scary pit bull image. A positive segment would change many more minds on how family oriented this dogs really are.
Like people, dogs are products of Nature and Nurture. Education is the only way to reduce dog bites and vicious dogs. As pack animals dogs have a very high need for structure and leadership. It's up the the members of the 'human pack' who has taken on the responsibility of the animal to provide this environment.
These dogs are loyal and very intelligent. educate yourselfs and inform yourselfs before making an unfair remark or decision on a truely wonderful breed...
I even know people who work for veterinary hospitals who would rather work on a pit bull than on a lab or cocker spaniel. Sweet and smart, pit bulls learn what they are taught by people, not by their "reputation".
Please do a segment on the wodnerful animals pit bulls really are. Humans have made them fighters, but with love and tendernes these dogs grow up to be fabulous dogs! I own 2 and am thankful everyday for them.
I wouldn't own any other breed. These dogs are great with kids, the elderly every one. They are extremly faithful to their owners, and they are so lovable.
Please lets show people what these wonderfuls doga are all about!!!
This form of brutal entertainment will only lead to other, more severe ones. Just as did the Romans entertainment. Man never does anything different, he only finds ways to make it worse.
Our country has been plagued with prejudice long enough, we need to stop judging a book by its cover instead we should open it and judge it by what's inside and I'll bet it's always negligence on the owners part.
I agree with Dave B. No better justice would be given to the most maligned and misunderstood breed than the APBT if Fox would do some real research. Acurate and truthful info. in educating the general public is what needs to be given. Bless all those ABPT's who had to be put down through no fault of their own. Many voices together can make a difference.
PITBULLS, CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS. SOME ARE DANGEROUSE, BECAUSE THEY WERE TRAINED TO BECOME SO. THEY ARE, AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, JUST AN ANIMAL, AND THEIR ACTIONS REFLECT THEIR ENVIRONMENT.
No better justice would be given to the most maligned and misunderstood breed then Fox doing some real research on these dogs and layed the liberal hysteria to bed.
As a breeder I understand the fear comming from the community, however, this breed is a very loyel,he will do anything to please his master,Even fight, what is needed is new owners involved in some type of training lisensing program wher the new owner must complete a basic obedence training program, includingbasic petcare
pits are the most loyal and most loving dog a man could have... so let us stop those news in which this dogs are misunderstood... punish the deed not the breed...
pits love to please their owners and love as well, but it the owner doesnot know how to love the pit then pit is not for him. Dogs became good only if the owner knows how to care, love and socialized him and train him to become excellent dogs. I have two pits and my child 2years of age is their playmate. I havenot experienced any accidents yet, and want to prolong it till the end of my life.
APBT are born aggressive thats true but thats not mean they are monsters. It's there irresponsible owners who breed them to fight. Pitbulls are true friend and true to its self. Pitbull rules !
PLease give these dogs the chance they deserve. I am the proud owner of 3 rescued pitts/mixes and a rottie that sleep in bed with me every night. They show me unconditional love and appreciation. I can see it in their eyes how grateful they are for the love I give them and they give me soooo much more in return. Please give this breed a chance.
There are bad owners, not bad dogs. These dogs are so loyal and willing to please, there best traits are turned against them by thugs, criminals and people with no conscience. PLease od a segment on the TRUTH about these wonderful creatures. They deserve some POSITIVE press. We, as a society, owe them that!!!
they have the largest heart -full of kindness, goodness, and faithfullness-their only goal in life is to please thier family..Man nor Animals are born to destroy--THEY ARE TAUGHT TOO! Educate yourself and others-Ban the wrong doing not the effects of.
I worked with some Pit Bulls for the shelter before. They were very sweet and gentle! Owners are the problems that arise. I understand the issue is animal realted, however, I would like to point out just what happens to a child raised the wrong way.It is very similar with pets.
I worked at an animal hospital where I met and cared for just about every kind of dog you can think of. Pitbulls remain my favorite (based on personality of the dogs)
To own a pit is to love a pit. We own several, we had our first pit about 20 years ago, I have yet to experience any form of aggression from these beautiful animals. They are the sweetest most loyal dogs we have ever had. I have a 3 yr. old grandchild, these dogs respect her commands....... Tell the public the truth, investigate the truth. It is the media's responsibility to investigate both sides.
the actions and disposition of these animals is a reflection of the way they are raised. these dogs are not born aggressive...it is only the result from their abusive/neglectful owners. EDUCATE THE PEOPLE...instead of belittling these sensitive animals!
