If the IDIOTS in the media really did their research, they would find that out of the top 100 breeds of dogs that bite, the pitbull ranks number 4 ....... FROM THE BOTTOM or actually number 96. I don't see the media picking on Black Labs and Spaniels who rank numbers 1 and 2 for dogs that bite the most. Pitbulls are one of the most lovable breed of dogs anyone could own but todays world has so many people that are so eager to jump on the band wagon because of the medias ignorance. Shame on all of you educated but very brainwashed people. You don't know what you are missing.
Pit bulls are the best breed of dog! Pit Bulls are NOT inherently HUMAN AGGRESSIVE. It is irresponsible, callous, brutal owners who think it's "cool" to have a vicious animal that make these gentle loving dogs into monsters. I love my pit bull. He is loving, obedient, lotal and courageous. There is no better breed. Which I can't say about human beings.
I hope you make everyone see agressive people make agressive dogs even down to the beagle. As long as people abuse their pets there will be agressive pets no matter what breed they are
It's not the dogs who are vicious, it's the assholes who raise them. I garentee, if you see a mean Pit-Bull take a look at it's owner and then you'll realize why he's become vicious.

It's not the breed of dog that is the problem. It's the breed of people raising them. Pit bulls are actually one of the best dogs to have with a family as they are known for their loyalty and gentalness within family situations. They are actually more tenacious with their love than anything else.
The media is part to blame for some of the bad reputaion the APBT gets. Now maybe they can step up and tell the truth about pit bulls. Many times you hear about how a pit bull attacked, Or a pit bull mix attacked. Half of the time it wasn't even a pitbull at all. As far as the pit bull mix, why doesn't the dog that they are mixed with get any of the blame. Becuase nobody cares what it is mixed with as long as they can say it was part pit bull for their story. Any dog can attack, and the higher percentage of the dog bites are are of smaller breeds not the pit bull. Pit bulls score very well in temperment testing. they are very smart, loving and loyal breed. They are great family dogs, as long as you have responsible owners who are willing to take the time to train them as all dogs need. Please take the time to do a true and just segment on these amazing animals.

I have spent time with many Pit Bulls since volunteering at an animal shelter whose Director loves Pit Bulls. They can be extremely loving, playful, and loyal dogs. I have one at my house right now that I took in from someone and she has an amazing and sweet personality.

I have worked with many pits and pit mixes, and they are one of my favorite breeds, because they are are intelligent and usually very sweet. The labrador next door is scareyer then any pitbull I ever met. These are not mean dogs, I sometimeshave the scarey looking ones wear doggie clothes to put others at ease.

This breed is the most affectionate breed that I have known. They are bred to be abused and neglected, when all they really want to do is sleep in the bed with their chosen person. Let's have some truth in our media coverage--how about some stories about the bravery of the AmStaffs and Pitbulls who are used as rescue dogs? There is no reason to cover "dog attack" stories involving Pitbulls unless you choose to cover stories of "dog attacks" by every breed. I'm ready to see my breed of choice shown in a positive light on television. Let's not forget Petey, from the Little Rascals.
Why do those that DELIBERATELY hurt others, i.e. sex offenders, murderers, drunk drivers have rights,even those that torture and abuse our precious animals, but Pit Bulls don't?I have more respect for and faith in pit bull's than I do for the above. I own Pit Bulls and they are so intelligent, athletic and loving! They live with a 12lb. Rat Terrier that runs the house! Please get the story out, so people will stop discriminating against this wonderful breed. Ignorance is the problem... and too many people don't know enough about this Pit Bulls...they instead, watch too many movies where Pit Bulls are always cast as fighting dogs!
Pits are the most abused, neglected and ill-treated of all breeds of dogs. They also are the most forgiving, the most loyal, and the most loving little creatures.

i have 3 dogs, one pit mix, one retriver mix and a spaniel mix.
i also have 3 kids, two boys ages 7 and 13 month old boy.
my 13 month old can do EVERYTHING with my pit mix, and she just holds still and licks his hand!!
but i never could say that with my spaniel.but i understand that!
no dog likes to get ears,tail pulled, or jumped on!
but my pit is more patience then any other dog i have knowen!!

I have seen gentle pit bulls & violent pitbulls.
I have seen gentle shepards, mixed breeds that were kind, and others that were vicious.
My point is, it's not the breed, it's the up bringing & the treatment they receive that makes them aggresive. Without ill treatment, they'd be allowed to be the gentle dogs that all of them can be when given love.
Pitbulls are kind and gentle with children - energetic and loyal & loving in their families. It's a shame that the "wrong people" get them and abuse them and exploit their natural strength. Please help save this beautiful, maligned & misunderstood breed before more injustice is done them.
I have known many pit bulls who are loving and show NO aggression. Isn't this like labeling people for the way they look or the color of thier skin? I hope the real truth comes out.
it is time the world saw that the smoking gun here isn't the dog but the idiot owner who has no clue as to what he/she is doing with these dogs. the owner is the danger, maybe you should make them pay the price for a nasty dog. and i don't mean a fine, i mean a hefty jail sentence. the dog pays the price for an irresponsible owner. these dogs are fabulous and great family dogs.
i have owned pitbulls my whle life i'm 26 now got my first one when i was 9 i have never had one dog that even thought about biting someone it's all in how u raise it remember the old saying guns don't kill people stupid people with guns kill people.
I have been a pet groomer for 20 years. I've met more dangerous cocker spaniels, than pitbulls. They, like so many other breeds, are really big, gentle knuckle heads that need responsiblilty, not euthanasia.

i have a 5 yr old pit and 2 kids i trust the dog with the kids more than i trust people with them one is 11 yr/o and the other is 14 m/o and she climbs on him like a monkey and i don't worrie about it a bit i'll defend my dog as much as i do my kids
I have rescued several Pit mixes and wish I had saved more. Many shelters are killing them just because they are Pits, regardless of their temperament. This is wrong and MUST stop.
You know, I've never agreed with the mainstream that Pits were naturally aggressive. Then I rescued a 3-4 month old abused and abandoned Pit puppy. He's a great dog. Just as aggravating as any other pup, but no worse and not any more aggresive than others. I dont agree with total bans on any breed for any reason. It's not justifiable to the legitimate loving and caring owners who own or want to own a "banned breed". The laws have flipped things around so that anyone who wants to own one, must leave their home and move to another city/county, whichever the case may be. As an American, it is our right to own any pet so long as we treat it as God intended. Why do these pits have to be put to sleep for living on the wrong side of the city limits? It makes absolutely no sense to me and truthfully, it pisses me off. News agencies report maulings and attacks because it increases readership. There's no media-hype in good dogs behaving like the good dogs that they are. I dare FOX NEWS to stand up and seperate themselves from the rest of the media. It can be done and it would save a lot of innocent pit bulls in this country.
I think it is just pitiful that the whole breed is made to suffer because of the few that are truly dangerous. Most of these dogs are very wonderful dogs. The Pit Bull fighters are the ones who should suffer, not the whole breed in general.
The wrong people take them and train them to be mean. These people should not be allowed to own any kind of dog. You can train any dog to be mean. If you raise them properly, they are sweet, kind and great dogs.
