I have raised all 4 of my kids since birth around pit bulls and I NEVER and would NEVER question the kids saftey. These dogs are loveable and protective. It's these qualities that MAN has taken for granted. I would not owe another breed. These dogs are GREAT!! Please show the TRUTH about these dogs..
I have only owned pitbulls for the last 10 years. They are the sweetest, most loving breed I have ever had. Both of my children have been raised with pitbulls. They are absolutely wonderful with kids. Please show the truth about these wonderful companions!!!
I own one of the most dedicated, emotionally connected, trustworthy, loving breed of dog I have ever been associated with. She is an American Pitt Bull Terrier by the name of "Babbs"! My children adore her as much as she adores them. From taking them to the bus to sleeping with them all night long. Please, FOX NEWS Station, share with the [ublic the actual facts about this fantistic breed of animal. I would not care to own any other type of dog! Thank You.
Dear Fox News, It would be an honor for (American Pit Bull Terrier Owners) to have a truthful No Spin Zone segment about the truth of this loving breed of dogs' by the FOX News Chanell. It would be great if the Ancient History could be summarized and put into perspective of where this breed originated and how they've gotten to where they are today. It's ashamed when in Ireland they call this the Old Family Dog, and in America they are called Vicious and Ruthless. They are a working class dog with great character, lovers and protectors of children and family. Not to be Mis-Construed with the same breed that is Abused by senseless ownership and a non-caring attitude of life in general. So it is with pride and honor towards all life and truth that we would greatly appreciate FOX news telling the Truth about this breed and Not the Mis-Conceptional errors of those who would make this breed of dog into villians and killers. Sincerely, Thomas A. Miller
My son has wanted a pitbull for many years, and i said only when he was of a responsible age. David turned 15 on July 14 and July 21 he bought himself an American Rednosed Pitbull. Tonka is Brindle and cream and the most affectionate and attentive puppy I've ever had in my home. Tonka plays well with our two kittens and loves to beheld, cuddled and talked to.
It is unfortunate that there are humans that can take a dog such as this and turn it into an agressive, vicious animal. Too bad we can't ban the vicious humans who treat the dogs this way.........the dogs end up paying the penalty for the stupid humans.
Any dog can be made to be an attack dog. The reason Pit Bulls were singled out for this is because their build is perfect for it. However I have known many pit bulls that were the gentlest dogs possible. One even roamed free in the neighborhood I grew up in and never caused a problem.
As a bull terrier owner, English, American and Staffordshire, I can attest to the fact that these dogs can be and are loving, attentive and loyal. However, there are also many bad humans out there in the world looking to intimidate with a bully breed.
These bad humans, cannot unfortunately, be euthanized. Which is all too often the fate of a seized bully breed.
Pit Bulls are loving dogs.
They are what you train them to be.
I am more afraid of Dalmations, Cocker Spaniels and Chows then I am of a Pit Bull!
Please, FOX NEWS, educate people about the truth regarding Pit Bulls.
They are not viscious unless you train them to be and any dog can be trained to be viscious.
Thank you
its the owners of these dogs . youd be suprised the mentality and mind set of some of our fellow human beings. we need to work on ourselves and stop looking elsewhere.
Pitt bulls are no different than any other dog. They mirror their caretakers. If they are abused they will act abusively, if they are loved they will share their love. It's people mistreating pit bulls that are the cause of the problems. Please help get the word out that these dogs are wonderful, loving pets. Thanks
I am a veterinarian in Reisterstown, Maryland, and pit bulls are by far the nicest gentlest breed, it is the chows and german shepherds that are the ones we watch for. Please do a segment to let owners know this is a great breed and there are many out there that need permanent loving homes. Thanks
I'd love to see pit bulls accurately portrayed, as well as discussing how they are has an impact (not just teaching aggression, but LACK of training too!).
I do think that most pitbulls are not for all owners: primarily because few have the dedication and common sense to ensure they are socialized and trained well.
I can't imagine myself having any other breed, despite how odd people find it that this is my breed of choice! Can't say enough good things, even dealing with my baby who happens to hate other animals (although she will behave when I am there, which is due to training)
I've been around Pit Bull Dogs for about 13 years now. I got my first one when I was12 years old and she was the greatest dog I've evered owned. I currently own a few Pit Bulls now and I raise my dogs around my family which consists of 2 5 year olds, a 12 year old, and a 11 month old. I trust my dogs around my kids completely. I'm sad that there are cities out there that don't alow these wonderfull dogs in. It's not the dogs, it's the people who raise them and train them to be mean.
I have experience with countless breeds through dog rescue and can honestly say that pitbulls are the most loving and amazing dogs I've ever met.
It's so sad that the general public has so many misconceptions about this breed because of ill-intentioned pitbull owners who destroy their good nature. Everyone loses out except for those of us who give the breed a chance and discover the best dog breed in the world. I've never met a snugglier breed in my life! Let's stop blaming animals for behavior brought on by humans!
I have been training, evaluating, and rehabilitating dogs for 34 years. Presently, I work with a city shelter and the majority of their dogs are bully breeds. When I evaluate them, I am saddened at their lack of training and socialization. Still, the majority of these dogs are great dogs.
All breeds of dog require learning to control bite pressure, to acclimate to environmental changes, and to accept a human's inconsistent body language as common-place and non threatening at an early age; small as well as large breeds. This is what keeps these dogs from becoming ferrel or socially challenged. Humans must be taught from early ages as well.
Dogs are taught this by their siblings and parents and require this education by their human counterparts. When I train, no exercise is performed, no game is played and action that perform is without purpose. Education is a necessity for the myths of these breeds to be dispelled.
There are no bad pit bulls, only bad pit bull owners, and breeders. If treated and trained properly, these dogs can make a perfect addition to any family.
I used to volunteer at the Humane Society in Washington DC where I met lots of friendly, loving pit bulls. I also met some pretty mean dachsaunds - breed trait or owner personality/treatment? My three year old little girl met Suzy the Pitter for the first time on a trip to Phoenix last spring. I have a picture of the two of the snuggling within one hour of meeting. Also, my little girl got sick during this trip and Suzy didn't want to leave her side.
I am proud to say my dogs are put bulls- they have the best temperament. While walking them a month ago, a stranger approached me and asked me if my male was "a good fighter". I think the problem isn't the type of dog you have, it's the culture that allows dog fighting to be such an epidemic, so I hope Fox decides to air a piece explaining this.
My precious pit was used as a bait dog and was taken to the local humane society. That is where we rescued her from. She is the sweetest, kindest, most loving, loyal dog ever. Please do a segment on these wonderful dogs, their responsible owners, and the injustices that become of them on a daily basis just because of their breed.
Pits are wonderful people family dogs, before one judges they need to own a few.
I prefer any Pit overt any human for life long companion ship
You need to investigate before judging
I have my own opinions and will never listen to media and believe anything but as I see most humans are not that way so if you say jump of the bridge they will it's the same as believing media stories of how bad Pit breeds are
It is NEVER the dogs fault and ALWAYS the humans
I have a super story about a black 87 pound Pit that came to us all sick, the pound staff did not like him, but he has the best home now shipped 300 miles to the wonderful adopter that paid $1000 to have him, they are very happy together
99% of Pits are just wonderful in the right hands only
Any animal will become what you want it to be. If you teach it to hate it will...animals are protectors and hunters by nature, but they are warm and loving as well. Although some breeds are more aggressive by nature, the interaction by humans is what makes the big difference.
Please do a truthfull story about these wonderful dogs. I own and foster pitbulls. The public needs to be educated what great pets these dogs make to resposible owners.
The pitbulls that I have had known have been loving dogs. Dogs of any breed can be turned into one that will bite. Golden Retrievers have attacked and injured people. It isn't the breed that makes a dog mean. It is how they are treated. Breed specific laws are dangerous. They are opening the door to outlawing many breeds just because one group or another deems them as a threat. Are we going to eventually legislate which dogs are acceptable and which are not? Will we end up with only little lap dogs considered safe? The media has the power to set the record straight. Please help the public understand that a dog gets some characteristics from its breed but its behavior is largely a factor of how it is raised.
The media is lopsided when it comes to pit bulls. No one EVER mentions the good pitbulls that are out there....Did Petey ever bite any of the Little Rascals heads off? no. Why? He was trained and raised like a normal dog should be!
Please help educate people on what pit bulls that belong to responsible owners are like. Help us put an end to the overbreeding and horrible abuse that these wonderful animals have to endure. I have 3 pit bulls (all were rescues)and they have turned outto be wonderful loving family pets.
I have owned pitbulls all my life. I have yet to ever be bitten by a pit bull and my children who have have been raised with pit bulls have nothing to fear from them either. As with any dog, it,s all in the treatment of your dog as it is raised. My dogs are family dogs but my neighbors are terrified by them and the humane society drives by our house quite frequently, it just goes to show how ignorant some people can actually be.
I have rescued two pit bulls and they are like m children. I love them dearly and they are such wonderful dogs. Trust me these dogs are only dangerous when they are taught to be mean. These are intelligent and loving animals. They are truly the most abused dog breed in the world, not to mention the most over breed. Tons of bad people are breeding these dogs for extra cash. Go to the shelters you will see rows of pits and hardly any get adopted, most are put to sleep. No one wants to adopt a pit from the shelter, so hundreds are put to sleep a week. Something needs to be done to stop the abuse. Bad people get these dogs for fighting, or for guard dogs, and they are cruel and abuse these dogs it is awful I think people who abuse animals are pure evil! But in the long run even after being tortured and abused most pits can still be saved and be the most loving animal you ever had. It is sad so please help the public realize it's the way they are raised not the breed itself. Thanks
pit bulls are a very loving and happy breed in the right enviroment. i have a cousin who owns a pit bull and she is the sweetest pit bull i have seen. it's not the pit bull that is aggressive and bad it is the owner who makes them like that
Pit bulls can make wonderful companions, and breed-specific laws are completely unworkable. Please contact the ASPCA for more information (www.aspca.org).
My Mackie is the most wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle and loving. The only danger he might be is to lick you until you couldn't stop laughing!! I have a chronic illness and when I am in bed in lots of pain, MAackie is right there. When my daughter had the flu, Mackie was right beside her! In our family, we call him the healer dog. Please let people know that it is not the dogs who are agressive, it is the people who are agressive. Mackie is a wonderful dog.
I have known other pit bulls through the years. To a dog, they have been sweet and loving.
my blue female is truely a mans best friend, because i raised her to be well mannerd. just like any breed dog owner shoud. if you raise em wrong they'll be wrong, just like any damn dog. enough said
My dog is a pitbull and he is the best dog I have ever known. He was raised right and is always good with people and other animals. He is nine years old and has never so much as snapped at anyone.
PITS ARE LOYAL, LOVABLE, HUGGABLE,KISSABLE CUDDLERS. ITS THE IRRISPONSIBIL OWNERS THAT ARE ACTUALLY ABUSING THESE WONDERFUL ANIMALS THAT NEED TO BE STOPPED AND BAND NOT THE DOGS.
I too believed the hype about Pit Bulls until I rescued one on the street. My guess is someone tried to fight her and she didn't have the heart for it so they just let her stray on the street, something that happens quite often by these dogfighter people. Could have been worse for her, they could of used her for a dummy dog to be torn up by their fighting dogs - that they trained to be that way through all kinds of tortures. I could immediately see what a kind, intelligent dog she was. She completely obeyed all of my commands without question, she was so grateful that I rescued her from starving on the streets. All of my friends say that she is the best dog they have ever encountered. Completely affectionate and loving and loyal. I will never own another breed. I was able to train her to be an "apartment dog" in a matter of days. She hardly ever barks, these types of dogs rarely do. She rides in the car beautifully, even cross country. All she needs is to walked, fed properly and loved. Please do something about their bad press, blame the blood thirsty people who torture these dogs until they are crazy, not the breed themselves!!!!
Pls help these poor dogs get their fair chance by doing a story on the wonderful disposition of the breed. I have a WONDERFUL dog that is an excellent example of how fabulous they can be.
I have a pb mix and she is very gentle and have had rescued pb in with my potbellied pig and they have been great with them. Please help show the true side of the pitbull.
I think that many people just for ignorancy misunderstand this wonderfull breed, and it's not fair that for some irresponsable owners, these dogs have a bad reputation.
If everyone had a friend like my pit bull, they would be as rich as I am. Let's make people aware of OWNER RESPONSIBILITY!! I have owned other breeds...but I will never own another breed other than a pit bull again. The inteligence, heart and steadfast loyalty of the pit bull are not found in any other breed. Punish the deed and the irresponsible owners. Take an educated stand. Stop the hype.
Little man Otter is the best. He's curious, fun-loving and gets along great with our other dog. Almost everyone who sees him on the street thinks "he's the cutest little puppy!"
Before my mommy rescued me, I lived somewhere where the people were really mean to me, and they never took me out anywhere. I learned very young to be afraid of people, men especially. Then my new mommy came and took me away, and in 2 1/2 years she has taught me that all people aren't bad. She taught me not to be afraid, I still get pretty nervous around new people but I know my mommy will protect me. Please teach people about dogs like me, I don't ever want to get taken away from my mommy, I love her!!
Pit Bulls are absolutely wonderful - very sweet and lvoing. The problem is NOT the breed! The problem is the people who do thoughtless and cruel things with the breed.
I havea Pit Bull. She is the biggest baby. Punish the Deed Not the Breed.I would never have anything but a Pit Bull again. Please do a fully informed show on Pits with reliable sources. I will send you pictures and/or let you come to my home to meet my 5 year old pit.Be preparded for her to sit on you lap and give kisses.
Set a precedent ... show other media organizations on how to responsibly tell the truth about pit bulls. STOP being a part of the abuse toward the pit bull breed! Instead, be an informed and responsible educator. There are no bad dogs, just BAD OWNERS! Help responsible owners in combating the chaos that the media has caused, and spread their message of how truly awesome this breed is.
