my pit is 5 years old and still "nurses" on me. they are the biggest babies. the number 1 bites are from dalmations, then cockerspaniels, then labs. research...punish the deed not the breed.
My brother has a pitbull who is 8 months old. I have been around him since he was about 12 weeks old. He is one of the smartest dogs that I have ever been around. He thinks that he's a human. He is the sweetest dog and I love him so much. You don't need to ban these dogs, you need to ban the owners!!!!
i own a pitbull and they are not bad at takk they`re playfull and very sweeet i personaly think that pitbull are not bad at all but if you mess with the dog and treat them bad and whoop and stuff of course they`re gonna attack becasue is self deffence they have no other option ya need to stop hating oh pitbullz they`re reaally sweeet hearts
the pit bull is the best dog in the world. they are wonderfull family animals and can do anything you teach them. unfortunately people use this in a negative way. blame the people not the loving and loyal pit bull.
i agree pitbulls are born mean, most people that own them are not mature enough to own properly train, and care for any animal. i have owned 4 pitbulls over a 8 year period and have never had a problem, i personally think that pitbulls crave more attention than other breeds, and if you are not prepared to give them time and exercise, than you do not deserve to have one, and owning any animal takes time, so if you cannot make time, than you dont deserve the right to own any animal
i agree pitbulls shouldn't be banded my friend s sisters old boyfriend had to give his up because he was so abusive to her. he abused her so much that she's afraid of a pies of popcorn, thats how scared of things she is. i don't think that they should be banded but the people that use them to fight or abuse them should be sent to jail and not be aloud to have anymore dogs.
I think you shouldn't band pitbulls,it's not there fault it's the OWNERS FAULT.Every animal needs love and needs to be cared for.So don't punish these beautiful animals for the way they were brought up!!!!!!
My little Am Staff is the sweetest puppy I've ever come across. A few years back I was attacked by six full grown Rotti's, that doesn't mean that all Rotti's are vicious or should be put down. My little girl is the most loyal being in my life. They are great dogs as long as they are raised with responsibility and lots of love.

I have two beautiful pit crosses--one springer X pit and a shar pei X pit pup. They are sweeties and adore each other and everyone else. Many times I feel the need to keep it a secret that they are pits because of people's prejudices, even though they are so handsome and sweet that everyone adores them. The vet said he wanted to steal my older dog because he is such a charmer. We are so blessed to have them.

hey there i live in new zealand wear current rules and regs have made it almost impossible to own a pitbull or pitbull cross without recieving hasssle after hassle from both animal control and general un pitbull educated public.I own 3 pitbulls my self and wouldnt own any other dog because as all pitbull owners know this breed is exceptional in almost every way and some which is hard to find in any other breed.education is the key so all you haters experience these dogs youself before you critise youl be surprised.cheers
I have owned and shown American Pit Bull Terriers for a few years now and they are the most tolerant and loving breed there is. Pit bulls are the only breed that people choose to pick out the bad and not see the good, this program really needs to air so people can get a better understaning of how this breed really is!

I own a Pitbull. She is the most gentle and loving dog I have ever owned. I used to have a cocker spaniel, and then a poodle. I was bitten by both dogs mind you!!!!!! I have had my pitbull, Bailey, for 6 months now, and nothing but love bites from my happy dog!! She plays well with children and humans. She is protective around other animals, but has never attacked one. The only time she has ever bitten a dog was when I was at the park with her, and the other dog ( a black lab) tried to bite me. Granted, because of their temperament, they should always be on a leash, but I have never seen my pit attack out of pure aggression towards a human or animal. Blame the deed not the breed!!!
I agree that in time a Pit Bull as well as any dog will mimic its owners temperment...if the owner is stupid the dog will be just as stupid...if they are mean with a temper, the dog will have a nasty disposition!!
I too have owned many dogs. Well my parents have owned many dogs. Breeds including Toy Poodle, German shepard, and Dalmations. As a child, I've always wanted a Pit Bull just for the look of the dog. As you probably guessed, my parents answer was always no. Misconceptions, altered my folks decision. Well I am now 23 yrs of age and no longer need parental
consent. I'm now also a proud owner of an American Pit Bull, Zeus. He has been by far the best pet I have ever owned. Not only is he a great looking dog, but he has also proven that he is truley mans best friend. I have seen Chihuahuas and even my parents own Toy Poodle meaner and more violent than Zeus.
Here is a thought for you to ponder. You don't believe that people are the result of how a Pit Bulls actions and mannerisms turn out. You say that no matter who owns or who trains a Pit Bull, it will alway be a mean, viscious, killer dog who should be banned and done with. Well how do you think people do bad things and continue doing them. Unless theirs some kind of health or mental reason, it's probably the result of bad parenting. So do you bann people from having children, no you enforce laws which protect these dogs, the same way laws protect children from being raised wrong. I know this is not a cure but more of a deterance. I honestly believe if stricter laws were enforced on people who own dogs that have been improperly raised, people who own this type breed would think twice on wether they want this dog for its loaylty, devotion to its master, its intelligence, its companionship or its ability to be aggressive and distructive. I have a pitbull and she is 8 months old. OUT OF ALL THE DOGS THAT I HAVE HAD SHE IS THE EASIEST TO TRAIN and obeys the best. I have had a great Dane, German Shepard, and a Collie.
i too loved my pit bull, who we raised as a puppy alongside our shih-tzu's,untill last night, when he killed one of our other dogs, and i might add this dog is not 1 year old, and this was the 3rd dog he had killed, one of them being an 8wk old puppy.
I would like to add a few facts of my own about the APBT breed. These are for the ignorant people out there who dont know their facts!!!
1.The APBT DOES NOT have locking jaws.There has been numerous tests done, and there is no proof that the APBT or any other bully breed has locking jaws.
2. The APBT was never initally breed to be agressive twards humans.Dog to dog agression yes, but humans no. In fact, back when dog fighting was legal, if there was a dog that showed human agression it was eliminated.
3.Apbt's have no more jaw strength psi than any other breed. This too has been tested, and proves to be just another myth.
A lot of people are mistaken about this breed, and the facts surrounding it. I have one pit of my own, and if trained properly this is a great breed to own.Although, in the wrong hands they can also be very dangerous. But this is complete human error.
If raised in a warm, lving environment Pit Bulls are wonderful dogs. You get back from them what you give them. Love, friendship, loyalty, affection, kindness & compassion. People are the problem not the dogs.
I have owned Pit Bulls & American Staffordshire terriers for the past 16 years. They are loving, loyal family pets when raised by loving, responsible owners. A Pit Bull will aim to please it's master, if taught to fight and be aggressive they will be. It's the owners who should be persicuted, not the dogs.

Pitbulls are great dogs when treated right. Just like any other animal they can be aggressive if they are mistreated. These dogs are very loyal animals and are very trustworthy as long as they are treated right. I grew up with a pitbull that was a great dog. I know own my own that is a purebread rednose and she is a great dog. These animals are not anymore dangerous then any other. It is all about how they are raised.

I don'town a Pitt,but hope to when I move into a house. I have several friends with pitt's and they are the most affectionate dogs I have meet. Any dog can be agressive it is all in how they are treated. I ran into a poodle as a boy that was agressive are you going to ban them as well, the poodle by the way was treated badly and was defensive upon sight.
As a Pit Bull owner, it makes me sad that people who don't know the breed automatically assume my dog is mean. Educating people is the first step in destroying the myth that Pitty's are by nature, mean dogs. Nothing could be further from the truth.
