I own two pitbulls that live inside my house with my 4 year old daughter. No aggression, no temperment issues. I contest, on a daily basis, the premonition that this breed is inherently violent and dangerous. People are terrible mislead by the media and sloped statistics... I volunteer at a shelter and I work with many many pitties..I have yet to have a problem with any of them. We need strictere penalties for owners who abuse and mistreat their animals. As long as we blame it on the dog and don't pursue the owners we will continue to have problems. As has been said over and over..punish the deed not the breed!
Our little APBT is the sweetest dog i have ever known. She is gentel and loving. I find that she is over the top with love and antics. She can make you smile even on a bad day. I have 2 boys that roll on the floor with her and play for hours. She has never biten one of them. I have seen small babys pull her ears and she lays there. She is tops with us. We are looking at this time for a male for her to hang out with.
I have a female pit bull that gets along great with my female husky. She is very well trained and not vicious at all. I have a very loving Staffordshire terrier that has been a loving family member for 2 years. He would never hurt anyone and loves kids and other animals. The media should get their stories straight before slandering an adorable and loving creature like Pit Bulls.
All dogs have teeth so all dogs can bite. I have been bit 1 time and it was by a small dog. I am the proad owner of a beautiful little lady pit. She is the most loving dog you will ever meet and a very loyal companion. She is the best cuddler. She follows me everywhere I go and loves eveyone she comes in contact with, kids, adults, other animals. For this reason I need your help to save one amazing pit. She needs surgery on both her hind legs. It is going to cost $2,200 per leg. Her quality of life is quickly going down hill and the vet says soon she will be completely cripled and I will have to put a good girl down. Please help me save my little angel!

I have to lock up my 30 some Pit bulls in the house in their crates because im too afraid to leave them out at night because someone may steal them. Everyone who comes here can play and pet each one of my dogs they are such good natured dogs. I think what these law makers should do is instead of Banning something they will NEVER ban and spending Milions of dollars educate people , put the dog owners in jail that let their animals run lose. APBT's have one of the best temperments in the world. My son who grew up with these dogs loves them and has NEVER been bitten or even so much as growled at. The dogs respect him to the fullest !

I have had "pittbulls" and like any dog or child they are what the owner raises them to be. Go to ebbrr.org and you will see the horror that these dogs go through while they are abused. You will also see how loving and great these dogs are even after all of that.
I would love to see the true loving gentle loyal eager to please side of the pit bull be shown to the public. If you have never owned a pitbull or known a responsible owner of a pitbull then you never get to see what wonderfull dogs they really are because "THE MEDIA" sure will never show you that. All pits are great. The groomers at Petsmart even told me that the little spaniels and toy dogs are the ones that are the aggressor. So does that mean you wanna kill them too!! Point being that the American Pitbull Terriers are great!! I had Beagles and love pits more!!
I am signing this for the Pit Bulls out there that are bred to be a family dog, though I strongly suggest to everyone to be careful as to what is said generically about pits, just here in my metro area in the last week 2 pits attacked an elderly man, while most attacks are not even real pits, these were, it does happen theres no sense in denying that as a fact, however for the pits raised to be loving and mild tempered I prey for your freedom amung a world full of vicious breeders.

Pitbulls have gotten the bad rep because they happen to have been chosen by people who want to make money on dog fights. It could have been any breed but I guess no one would pay to watch chihuahuas fight! The poor pitbulls ability to take punishment and continue to fight made it vulnerable to these cruel, vicious, immoral owners. A pitbull in the right home with proper socializing, exercise and basic training makes a family pet without peer. A gentle, loving family member.

I do not have a pit but I have friends that do and boy do they love their pits, they are so gential and loving, hmmnn does that sound like a bad dog to you NO! These Pit Bulls can be trained to be very aggressive, but if you think of it so can any dog, Pit Bulls are loving dogs, if not trained to do wrong, and are a great family pet for everyone!
