i dont own them and i was even bitten as a child but giving negative press against any breed would start people hating them..with a year of bad press you could turn people against cats..think before you act.
My daughter has pits an i dont even like them that much but i learn to deal with it as that is her right as an american citisen to own her breed of choice, thru the years she and her dogs have proven my predjudice wrong and ungrounded, give them a fair shake!! do a story.
I am an owner of a Staffordshire bull terrier. The dogs are not to blame, its the owners. Every breed of dog can be dangerous if not given to proper raising. Much like people.
We run a pit bull rescue and foster home,i watch your channel religiosly and i think attending a AAPBA show would show the public how well these dogs behave when raised and trained correctly, just like rotty`s were the bad guy`s in the 80`s lets get over this"pit hating fad"
I am the proud and responsible owner of a pitbull, a rottweiler, and a chow mix. My dogs are my family first and my pets second. The dogs that are hurting people are, for the majority of cases, NOT family pets. They are usually not spayed or neutered, not kept inside as family pets, and not given proper socialization and training. Instituting BSL will not change the way those dogs are kept, therefore not accomplishing the "mission" of keeping dangerous dogs away from the public. My pets are not a menace to society, and because I am a responsible member of society, I would comply with regulations that would allow me to keep the breeds I choose. But the owners of the dogs that are hurting people are not responsible. BSL will not touch the unlawful or the ignorant.
Please, do not punish me and my dogs. We have done nothing wrong.
Pittbulls are not vicious they are teritorial. I think if you train them well then they will be fine. I also think that the pittbull band in ontario is stupid. Drug delers use theese animals to kill and threaten people for what they think matters most. I think that the animal matters most. The animal should not be sentensed to death because of the owners needs to be a asshole.

Bye I hope you listen to me the little girl because it is true
Please do a piece, perhaps an extended piece on the pit bull and other bull breeds. I have had amstaffs and staffbulls my whole life and not only have i NEVER been bit nor hurt by one of these fantastic animals but I have also incurred on a daily basis the racism that these breed sbring with them. We have got to at least let people know that the majority are great animals.
I have owned bull terrier breeds for 15 years, since the age of 17.My kida are 7,6 and 20 months and each one has been raised with these dogs. The bonds between them are awesome, they LOVE each other.
I choose the bull and terrier breeds because they are MORE STABLE, AFFECTIONATE AND TRUSTWORTHY with children, babies and even strangers. Despite the media myths, they are above average in every way.

pitbulls are actually very kind dogs if you treat them right.its not right that a certain breed is going to be banned.my pitbull is the best pet i have ever owned and i love her so much.pitbulls should be treated like any other dog!
I work for Cowlitz County Humane Society, located in Longview, Washington. Some of the most gentle, kind hearted dogs at our shelter are pit bulls... but they are all-too-often condemned by the media. Please give them a balanced potrail and run a positive pit story!
my pitbull is a rescue who was starved and abused. she's never shown the slightest sign of aggression. She's the greatest animal I've ever known. Ignorance is a problem. Dogs are not.
i have a pitbull chow mix that weighs over 80 pounds he has never bit or growled at anyone he not dumb just a little stubborn loves everyone it is a matter of raising them right great dogs
I had the sweetest pit bull in the world! She would play with my baby sister, not aggresivley. The dogs name was Mango. Mango would nudge my sis and when Cecilia (my sis) would fall, Mango would rush over and help her up! Anyway, we had to get rid of Mango. The owners who got her taught her to be mean and aggresive. When we heard about this, we went to talk to teh owners. When Mango saw us, she ran up to us and gave us kisses! This goes to show, not all pit bulls are mean. Some even remember good owners. Theyr'e only mean when taught to do so.
It is definitely nurture and not nature that determines pitbull behavior. I know many pitbull owners whose dogs are the sweetest things, they're just too dumb to be aggressive. It's people who don't know how to raise a dog or shows the dog aggressive behavior causing this bad rap for all pitbulls. ASIDE: I owned a pitbull/chow chow mix, two "aggressive" dogs and my Baby was indeed a baby, she wasn't aggressive or dangerous. What about this recent story of a small dog in new england mauling a neonate? Can out in the papers up here fairly recently 3/23/05
I am the proud owner of 3 APBT. These dogs are a magnificent breed with an unjust "bad rap". If the media would take the time to do some positive coverage on a dog that has been unfairly criticized and publicized it may help more people open their eyes and know that it is the HUMAN involved that creates "bad" dogs. People say that the APBT is born mean. Have you ever seen a 6 wk old APBT trying to "eat" some one? NO. Dogs are made mean NOT born mean. Again place the blame where it belongs on the HUMAN that some of these poor unfortunate dogs get the bad luck in having as owners. The media needs to be more responsible in what they say to the general public. Media coverage is what has caused the hysteria concering the APBT, because the only thing they ever report is the "bad" stuff, they never report about the APBT that are service dogs, or the fact that an APBT was a war hereo at one time, or the fact that the APBT was a movie star, starring in a show with kids. No we never see any of the good stuff, only the parts where some poor mistreated animal that has lived its entire life on the end of a chain being abused and taught to be agressive that gets loose and hurts someone. These are all unfortunate incidents but is it really the fault of an entire breed or the fault of the idiot that choose to treat his/her dog in such an uspeakalbe fashion. Wake up and place the blame where it belongs do your coverage on the type of people who will take such a great dog and do unspeakable acts with it. The APBT is truly one of Americas great breeds, it should be treated as such and given a fair shake. They are a loyal, clownish, devoted and trustworthy dog, NOT the monster the media makes them. Be fair let us see some positive coverage on a breed that really deserves it.
I've only been around one pit bull. And it was a full breed, loving dog. Owners make pets aggresive, tis a fact. I think after lots of searching should people make a ban on something or not. Save the doggies!
I have been around Pits my entire life not one has ever evn growled at me. They are statiscally the fourth to last of 100 breeds tested to bite you. Cocker Spaniels and Labs are statistaclly mor dangerous
I've raised pits now 9 yrs, never have I had such a loyal loving animal.I have 3 grandsons who are around my 7 dogs all the time & they love the kids. There are many bad people who make these dogs & their breed sound bad. We must stand together and stop this anamosity.I also do rescue for this breed ,& the sights I've seen .The bad guardians to theses poor dogs deserve to be treated the same as they've done theses dogs.Band the idiots not this great breed.
MY SISTER AND HER SIGNIFICANT OTHER HAVE PIT BULLS AND FOSTER PIT BULLS. THESE DOGS HAVE BEEN AROUND MY CHILDREN AND I HAVE NO CONCERNS WITH MY CHILDREN GETTING HURT OR ATTACKED. I BELIEVE THAT ANY ANIMAL CAN BE DANGEROUS IF ABUSED OR RAISED TO BE AGGRESSIVE.
i have seen more aggresive labrodors in my life my brother is a vet and he will also tell you that a pit bull is no more aggressive than any other dog and if you really do some actual research you'll notice that many other dogs have more attacks on humans than pits
If you had bothered to do any research, Kelly, you would know that although American Pit Bull Terriers do posess agressive traits towards other dogs, APBTs are far less likely to bite a human than other popular breeds.
Why don't we ever hear on the news about other so called vicious breeds. As a child my sister was attacked by a family members German Shepherd. But the Pit Bulls my family has owned have never shown aggression towards any one. My kids think our pit is the best dog in the world, and we couldn't imagian our life with out him. The bans need to be stopped ,people who hate pits just need to educated on what makes dogs aggressive.
i have 4 pits they are the best dog in the world there is a band on them where i live but ill never get rid of the dog ill always have one no matter what happens people around here dont like thame and try to kill my dogs but the dont get very far before i stepp in and do something about it and that dog protects everyone in my family i hit me sister and it bit me so it dont like fighting
My boyfrined and his roomate both own pit bulls, and they are the most loving dogs I have ever encountered. I know that my friends and I would be heart broken if they lost their dog because of pure ignorance.
Please ban irresponsible pet oweners, not the breed. My pitbulls are the most loving, eager to please, social, smart and the perfect family pets. They are great with children and even the two cats! Also, I know an animal controll officer that say's that they would rather come across a loose pit bull then some other breeds, because they love people so much.
I own a pit bull and she is also my service dog. I don't like the fact that certain towns and states ban pit bulls, or any dog, for that matter, simply because of past problems with the breed because of stupid people mis treating the dog to where it attacks you or the owner mistreating or training the dog things that are seriously frowned upon.
I am a celebrity in training and I will be damned if anyone denies me into a place b/c of my pit or tries to take her away because of some silly local ban on the breed. I will have ADA on them so fast, they will be crying. I use to be stupid about the breed myself, until I started meeting pitbulls...one was the sweetest ever, another just had a bad attitude but tolerated people and the other one was really protective of her owner and the owner's 14 month old daughter. I am going to start something up with the media on pitbulls...something is going to get done, I guarantee it.
I own 2 pits and i worked at a shelter that got a lot in. They were the best on temp testing, and we rarely got any in that were even a bit shy or agressive. I dont think in the entire 2 years i worked there we got a single 'bit case' that was a pit. Yet a few times on the news they had stories of 'attack pits'. Once when the dog ended up at the shelter it was really a boarder collie mix, long hair and everything!
I owned two of the absolute sweetest pitbulls in the world for about 2 and a half years until I lost them in a custody battle. (if that dosen't tell you how much we loved our baby girls I don't know what will!!!}I miss them like crazy. They were by far the most loyal loving dogs I've ever owned. I can honestly say those two wouldn't even hurt a fly.And when I am ready for a new puppy ABPT will deffinetly be my dog of choice.P.S I love you jose and kozi!!!!!!
I own 2 pb and am going to get a 3rd my kids play with them all the time and they (the Pits) are always very tame and lovable.I was a pit "dummy" and was scared to own one until i rescued one which i could not resist and studied on the breed and found they are much more than just intimidating animals they are sweet, lovable,&loyal family members study them before you judge them!
I own a APBT and would
recommend a APBT to anyone, especially if they have kids. Any dog can turn,
doesn't matter if it's a APBT or a Chihuahua. Of which I own both and I can
say, my Chihuahua is WAY more aggressive than my pit. I've also owned
Dobermans, Pekinese, Rotties and Poodles. I am cautious about any child,
including my own being around ALL of my dogs. No matter how tame or dossal a
dog, they are still dogs, any one can turn. It just so happens that APBT
have extremely strong jaws. This is why people are afraid of them and also
why "jerks" fight them. Any kind of animal can turn.
I own 5 dogs, three Pit Bulls, one Beagle and one Shepherd/Chown mix. The Beagle and the mutt are the problem dogs. I can give the news a story "When Beagles Attack". The three Pits are the smartest, most loyal and most entertaining dogs I have ever owned.
I think that is about time that something is said about the great dogs that pit bulls are. It is interesting that if any other dog bites someone it is not in the news, but as soon as a pit bites someone it is one of the top stories. My husband and I are the proud owners of a pitbull and would feel safer around her than a chihuahua.
I think it's about time someone does something to protect the pitbull breed. My family and I stand by the pitbull breed and the true good nature these dogs have.
If someone killed someone with a knife, would anyone scream at the knife "Guilty!" I highly doubt it. Prosecute the owners don't hate the breed. Just hating pitbulls is just like being racist. Pitbulls have never been bred to bite humans, they made sure not to even if they did have thier dogs fight illegally because they didn't want to get bit while cleaning thier wounds. Also what happened to how loved they were during World War I. They say that pitbulls were the saviors. Helen Keller had a pitbull. And what about Petey from the Little Rascals? Take away stupid people, don't kill the dogs that the people trained to be like that.
I think that people are so judgemental that it is so unbelieveable as kids we are taught not to judge a book by its cover but as adults some are doing that to the pitbull. we have one and he is my baby HATE THE DEED NOT THE BREED!!!!!
There is such a wave of ignorance through uneducation. This is no different than with any other breed labled as being "violent". None of them are naturally aggressive to the degree that is seen. That comes from the way they are reared and trained. I hope there can be more education and acceptance across the board on these and other breeds so erroneously labeled as being dangerous.
All i can say is there are some really uneducated people! We have a 2 year old male pitbull/bullmastiffand 2 weeks ago a 16 week old male pitbull! Brought the new addition in and they both get along great!! Sarge (the older male) stepped back away from his own food dish to let the puppy (chief) eat. They both drink at the same time out of the same water dish and we have not had a problem. I have always reach my hand in their food dish and all that happens is Sarge and Chief will stand back and wait. I've had Sarge since he was 8 weeks old and i've never had a problem. As a matter of fact i babysat my friends 4 week old baby girl and both Sarge and Chief would lay near her carrier and when she squirmed his ears would perk up and he would watch her and he would take his nose at the bottom of the carrier and nudge it so the carrier would rock he did this until she fell back to sleep. Amazing how this animal is smarter than most people. So all who are uneducated about the breed here's a word of advice.......Get educated instead of making assumptions.
Just because some pit bulls are evil, doesn't mean all of them are...a lot of dogs can be evil if provoked...I have been around a lot of pit bulls in my day and I have never had any problems with them at all...Pit Bulls are actually very good animals.
We have a deaf(we use sign language), albino, pitbull boxer mix. She is the sweetest most loving dog ever! We made sure to raise her so that she is not even mildly agressive because we do have children. Pit's aren't the problem. Idiotic owners who breed them and raise them to be mean are!
Our 5 APBT's are our family. They've been there unconditionally through up's and downs, laughter and tears they're right there to give you kiss or a snuggle to remind you that no matter what, they're here for you.
They always put their best paw forward and have so many admirable qualities that you can't even find in most humans. It is because of our dogs we became members of various dog registries competing all over the west coast which has brought so many new friends and experiences we would otherwise never have had the opportunity to experience. I can't, nor do I want to imagine a life without Petey, Pandora, Cody, Strawberry and Hazy. I truly adore them.
Every breed has its "bad eggs". There are also owners who want a "macho" aggressive dog. These are what have spoiled the reputation of pit bulls.
My husband's cousin had a pitbull and she was the most loveable dog and would kiss you to death.
I think pitbulls are one of the most intelligent and LOVEABLE breeds of dog I have ever been in contact with. The media does not live up to their responsibilities when it comes to reporting on pitbulls. The media fails in their responsibilty to the public when only one-sided reporting is done. What happened to maybe looking at the "bad people" who don't raise and train these (or any) dogs properly.THE BREED IS NOT THE PROBLEM!!!!!!
