Pit bulls are powerful and loyal and require responsible ownership. The public needs the truth about who is reponsible for accidents - negligent/abusive owners!
I was attacked by a dog when I was 3 he was a big dog (not a pit) and I have scars for life over that. I have a 3 month old pitbull and he is the best dog that I have ever had. He is around my 2 kids and there friends. i got him from my mom who has mom and dad and both of them are the most kindest dogs to be around. I will never own any other type of dog since I have had my pitbull. Any dog can be mean if raised by the wrong person, just like any child can be mean if raised by the wrong parents
My house has had a representative of the Pit Bull breed in it for the better part of 15 years. My wife of 8 years now states that she will never be without a Pit Bull around.
We have raised our current Pit Bull like a member of our own family. She is kind and sweet towards other people and dogs. It was my intent to have her be a true representative for the breed in an effort to help create just a little bit of pawsitive attention to counter the horrible stories we have all come too familiar with.
Thank you PP for all your hard work as champions for this most excellent of breeds.
I have been around dogs all of my over 40 years of life and now am the proud owner of a pitbull that we have had since she was 12 weeks and she is now over 3 years. Our pitbull is the best dog I have ever been around and is what I would classify as the best family dog anyone could ever owner! As far as I am concerned Pitbulls get a bad rap, if you stop and think about it you could teach a poodle to attack by mistreatment and neglect.
I have a 7 month old and have had two others in the past around my 4 year old and my female i had protected him from any danger and he would pull on her ears lay on her throw toys at her she would just lay there and take it she would stare out the window at kids cause she wanted to play with them and my male now is the laziest lovingest dog he is such a mommas boy and couldnt get him to be mean if i wanted too.
Our pit-bull has been a loving and trusted member of our family for four years. She has been nothing but accepting and sweet with our toddler son who pulls and pokes at her.
In our personal experience, the pit bull breed is entirely resposnsive to it's environment, ours being a healthy and responsible one.
Bad owners, neglegent breeders, and hyper responsive media is to blame for the notoriuos reputation of the pit-bull.Their perception, and the one they convey, is both scewed and misguided.
I have had a pitbull since i was six months old. All the bad things that you hear about pitbulls come from the people who fight and mistreat them. I think that the pitbull breed is the greatest breed that there is. All they need is a loving family and someone that they can get alot of attention from. If you treat them right they will loyal to you until there dieing days!!!
my son has an intact male that is as sweet as he can be. my daughter had one as well and he got along great other dogs too. these dogs both are great with kids and very sweet. my pomeranian is more likely to bite. i wish the media would put articles in teh paper and on every channe on t.v when a lab or a dalmation bites a child.
I have a Pit and also a chocolate lab...to tell the truth my Lab is more aggressive! My pit does not have a mean bone in her body...she gets along with everyone human or canine!!! It's the upbringing! Help spread the word!!
No Dog hurts or bites anyone unless the person has done something to deserve the bite. NO DOG COMES OVET MEAN THE OWNER OR WHOM SO EVERY HAS THE DOG TRAINED HIM AND MADE HIM THAT WAY. people dont understand that even the pits that fight are still nice to the person who is putting him that condition.
I have 2 Pit Bulls of my own, and two other friends of mine moved in with with 2 more Pit Bulls, so now I have 4 total playing together in my background. My husbands little nieces and nephews came over- about 6 kids ages 3-9 came and played for more than half a day with all four dogs...the Pit Bulls that the time of thier lives playing, licking, and loving the attention of those kids. Society needs to stop being so utterly ignorent to responsibilities and STOP blaming Pit Bulls for attack...The news should be stated like this " Human trained and/or neglected thier dog to attack children!!! Put the owners name in the headlines for thier dog attacking anything!!!!!
American Pit Bull Terriers are not naturally aggressive. I have two female Pit Bulls who have never once bit each other or any person. The folks in the media should do more research instead of trying to sell papers and air time.
I have made it a mission to show people through my pit that they are by no means naturally aggressive. He is the smartest, most loyal and loving dogs i have ever seen. He is so non-dog aggressive my wife and i leave him alone with our mini-schnauzer and cat.
It's not the dogs, it's the insecure, ignorant owners that think they need to have a "tough dog" Any dog that is neglected and abused will be aggressive. It's no breed's fault. Unfortunately pitts attract this kind of owner
I currently own 7 pit bulls and have never had an human aggressive sign yet. I will honestly never have a problem leaving one of my dogs with a child. "Punish the Deed, Not the Breed"
I currently own two of these dogs bolth of them are great dogs i would not own another breed for a house dog they are wonderful loyal and fearless dogs
Pit bulls have alot of "heart". They just want to please their master. BLAME THE DEED NOT THE BREED. My pit bulls are house dogs and are wonderful with my son and my cats! Owners are to blame for what their dogs do!
My pitbull is great. My friends' pitbulls are great. The only pitbulls I've known or heard about that are bad have have BAD PEOPLE as owners. Be fair in your reporting, not so sensational.
I love the Pitbulls and other dogs. Without dogs, we will lose love, tender, etc. The solution is to train more the future owner of those dogs and to make a better reglementation to have a dog like that. Eliminate this race is not the adapted solution.
I am an owner of 4 wonderful pits. They are my baby girls, they love to make me proud by carring out a command that I have taught them. They are my soulmate buddies. They have never let me down, and probably never will. If you own a pitbull you have taken on a huge responsibality to love and care for the dog like a child because they WILL do what there master tells them to do. A message to the IGNORANT CRITICS, buy a pitbull and I bet my dogs that you will then sign this and many more petitions.
que leurs reproches t' on ? d' aimer leurs maitres. ce n' est que l' inconscience d' un poignee d' individus et la mediatisation a outrance qui mennent ces pauvres betes a l' echafaud.
