I just can't believe that a law to prohibit certain breeds and make them extinct is trying to exist. That is so obsurb to me and sickens me as a human that we are so inhumane to animals. Its the owners not the breed. What will they decide to extinct next? Rotts or dobes or whomever one dog does the worse damage gets the whole breed extinct? Why not humans? Some are just as vicious....also this bill is for sure to make a mean pitbull due to unsocialization which makes for a better adjusted dog. By isolating them would be making them mean.
I've had my pitbull for 8 yrs. I also have 2 pomeranians and a collie. My pitbull can be taken to the park, my poms cant because theyre the mean ones! I had a pitbull 10 yrs ago as well, and will probably get one when my Boo passes away. Theyre the most loving, loyal dogs, with responsible owners who train and care for them.
I have had pitbulls my whole life they are the best dogs you can have i have a kennel of pits an i have a small toy jack russel terrier and she runs the show and i also have two children 3 and 6 and my dogs love them to death and would do anything for my kids my dogs are gentle and loving and would never hurt a soul my jack russel is more vicious than the pits and im more worried about her biting before my pits. I live in Ohio and i think they need to take this dog off the vicious dog list its not the dogs fault they have idiots for owners just like any other breed a pit bites it publically announced a datsun bites no one hears about it small dogs can hurt too.
Spay and netuer all humans! Pitbulls never hurt anyone who are not torturing them, first. Espicaly small children with loud squeaky voices who hurt their eardrums.
I have 2 children (1&2) and a wonderful 3 month old apbt. these dogs are the most wonderful of all other breeds. they are actually the best breeds to have around children because they can withstand the "abuse" a young child can dish out. i also have 3 cats and i wouldn't leave them in the same room with my children alone, for any animal will bite. especially when defending itself. so, the next time you want to blame a "pit bull" make sure that it was a apbt and then make sure to tell the truth, and not make it sound like the dog was mindlessly being vicious. it's not in the dogs nature to be humane aggressive. yall never make reports on other dogs mauling people; labs and cocker spaniels are some of the most frequent to bite people and are actually known for being people aggressive. go to this web site and view the movie; you'll have a whole new perspective on the bully breeds. pitbullproblem.tk/
my husband is'nt a dog person but he's come to love our dog and this breed. do a little research before you go making these dogs into monsters!
Jacque and I take care of her sister's two Pitbulls fairly regularly. They're just like family. It's important to also report all the good things about them also.
I have a 2 year old male pitbull and he has never shown any agression towards and other dog or human. He loves little kids and lets them climb all over him. I am consider adopting another female pitbull, not to breed, but to have her as a family companion. This breed has turely won my heart, however, I would no t recommend this breed for everybody. I feel that to own this breed you must be a patient indiviual with a lot of time to care for your APBT. I feel that the individuals who cannot provide the above should consider a different breed. The APBT is a loving breed, they just need to be raised right. I also have never seen a APBT be aggressive towards any person, it is not in their nature. The APBT was used in the past to fight other animals, so some do have a tendancy to be agreesive towards other animals, however it is the prospective buyer or adopter to check the temperment of the puppy and parents before deciding if that perticular dog is for them. I feel as most do that the breed has been wrongly stereotyped as an agressive breed that will attack anything that they come into contact with.
i have written numerous articles to news stations about wrongful accusations of aggressive pit bull terriers. never once have they even given me the courtesy of telling me no, they accept my article only to throw it away or whatever they do with them. i have an abundace of knowledge on the breed and their behavior, but no one wants to listen. i have a 3 month old black female pit puppy, i often take her to open fields or the dog park. recently i have been getting harassed by ignorant people who think that she is a "monster", and after making a scene, they make a bigger one collecting their things and storming out of the park like i forced them out.
what peolpe dont want to hear is that, back in the day of pit fighting, if a pit bull was aggressive to a person, that dog was taking out of the breeding stock. who would want to get into a ring with a dog that you could not control? NO ONE!!!that is why pit bulls are family gaurdians/companions.
it is not the dogs, it is the people who raise them to become something they are not.
i hope that this petition makes it all the way. i am looking forward to walking my dog and not being stereotyped.
I have had pitbulls for 10 yrs and never had a single bad experience with one yet. They are a very smart and loving dog. I really hate the bad rap they get. Did you know that the UKC wont recognize the pit bull as a guard dog because they say their too friendly. If you dont believe me just go to thier web site, its on their.
I own 2 beautiful loving pitbulls and they are so well behaved and very silly at times!!I am so sick of hearing peoples comments when they hear I own 2 of them they are way too uneducated to even have an opnion. The only thing they have on their mind is the stuff they've heard is the negative stuff on the news!!!
I was raised around dogs my whole life. But I never found the perfect dog untill I rescued a one year old pitbull.since thern I havent' looked back. And it seems that the more people my dog and I meet the more opinions are changed. I hope for the day when I can walk my dog downtown and people don't clear off the side walk....PlEaSe FOX!
the public needs to see the true side of a dog that has been misunderstood for decades....
I thought that the breed was bad until I receive 2 two day old. American Pitbull terrier. Brindle with white markings. Now I think there the greatest dogs to have.
My PitBull Coco is a sweetheart. She's kind, sweet, and caring; always friendly to all. Pitbulls are like little children, they need nuturing, responsible care-takers. They are totally lovable and affectionate.
You should report both (or more!) sides of every story. My rescued pit-lab mix is the best dog! She is kind and approachable by children and other dogs. Something is very wrong in the world when people who are doing illegal and immoral things like training dogs to fight with animals giving a particular breed a bad name. Doing this for monetary gain or entertainment is especially abhorant.
dont take away our family. i have 6 and i would do anything to keep them. they have great personalities. i couldnt imagine watching tv without 6 pits trying to see who can get closer to you and see who can get the most attention while i have six tongues licking me in the face.
pitbull doggies should not be banned. we have one of these dogs and it is the most wonderful beast on four legs. specifically, it is:
good
kind
charitable
nonviolent
benevolent
loving
fragrant
creative
opinionated
sympathetic
an avid reader
& a good lay, overall
i have lived with my pitbull for months and hes a very gentle dog, he hasnt biten or growled at anyone.
my friend has hjad to pitbulls her entire life and they havent biten or growled. people shouldnt judge animals by what they here is natural attitude. the only reason some pits are mean is because thats the way there owners trained them. its not the dog its the owner. so pleese just let the poor things be ok.
I feel like I cant do enough to make people listen but I keep trying! How can anyone blame the pitbulls for being agressive when it is truly the owners who make our break these dogs. This breed gets a bad wrap! why was that blazers jerk who had his pit fighting let off with a slap on the hand and yet people are blaming the poor dogs for this agressive behavior? People take advantage of this breeds strength and beauty and use it for a violent monetary gain and status symbol. Come on people step up and take responcibilty for your actions, quit blaming the breed blame the abusive owners. Something has to be done about this!Leave the poor pits alone and focus on the real criminals!
I find that pit bulls are some of the most loving and trustworthy dogs I have ever seen. I have three pits myself, and I trust them very much with my kids. Its all in how you take care of them, just like any other dog or animal for that matter.
I have a pitbull, her name is skyy. she is 4 yrs. and the most important thing in my life. she would never hurt me or any of the kids that come around her. she is a very good dog. and it is true that pitbull are exploited to be a bad breed. but i have always believed that if you raise a child in a violent home, they will grow up to be violent. just the same with dogs. she has never been shown anything other then love. a child learns to fight by their surroundings, so do dogs. if they are taught to fight they will always know violence and fighting.
Pitbulls are a very exploited breed and demonized so often in the media. Responsible ownership is the key, just as with any other animal. There has been so many BSL bills being passed it's scary, it will only take these amazing creatures out of the hands of loving homes, not the abusive and illegal situations that they are brutalized in- same principal as gun control and prohibition - the criminals don't abide by laws, hence the term!
We have had our Zoe for 2 years now, and she is the love of the family. I have 3 kids and one is still a baby (18 mo) and Zoe is just wonderful with the kids, and me and my husband. We also have a cat who is best friends with the dog. She actually nursed her as a kitten. I can see this breed being violent if you don't raise them in the right home, or teach them to fight, but Zoe is a good natured dog, better than any I have owned, and I have had Golden retrievers and other dogs who were considered good family dogs. Stop all the lies about them being vicious.
My Am-Staff is the greatest dog I have ever met. We meet misconception and prejudice all the time. I consider myself a bully breed ambassador. These dogs deserve respect and love.
I am nineteen and own two pit bulls of my own. My oldest is a trained social therapy dog and i take him the visit kindergartens and preschoolers where he has about 40 4-year-olds petting and pulling at him. IGNORANCE BREEDS FEAR! People need to educate themselves and their children about dogs and dog behavior. These dogs need our love not our hate. People would rather blame a "lower" being such as a dog that realize the disgrace much of humanity has become. This is a video also defending pits, it is very sad though i warn you. It made me cry.
Pitbull Terrier are beautiful dogs. They are not these vicious dogs people make then out to be. Its the owners that make them this way. Its the owner that make these dogs turn out the way they turn out. If you abuse the dog it gonna be scared and bite anyone that gets near it. If you give it the TLC that it should have in the first place it will not turn out to be vicious> I know how these dogs are. I own 2 of them. I have also owned other dogs in my life and i have to say that these 2 dogs and the best 2 dogs i have ever had. Lets not get rid or band these dogs. Lets get rid and band the people that take them for granted and abuse them. Come on people it not the dogs fault its the owner fault.
My 10 year old pitbull is the most gentle and loving animal I have ever encounted. Unfortunately, It seems as if there allways needs to be a scapegoat--it is exactly like racism. These wonderful dogs are suffering and its heartwrenching situation.
I am 24 years old and my family and I has raised pitts since I could remember! None of the pups that come from my familys lines has nver been aggessive. If a dog is raised with love and affection that is all they will give, but it could be the other way around if they are raised with hate that is what they are going to give. I think breeders need to look into perspective buyers more deeply and whin the pups turn 6 months and 1 year they need to go pay a little visit to the pups new familys and see how the dog reacts and how it is being treated. My boyfriend and I have a 6 year old 80lb pitbull he is realy lasy only thing that is on his mind is sleep and food never aggesive he loves everything from cats to children he dont even make a good watch dog he would just lik you to death! I would never own any other breed they are awsome dogs that are smart and love to please every chance they get! Please dont banned one of Amaricas favorite breed that we all love so much!
It is not the breed of dog that is dangerous, it is the person who raises or owns the dog, regardless of breed. Puppies do not come out of their mothers snarling and attacking. Through training and treatment they become dangerous, not by nature. To say that a pitbull is dangerous because of it's breed is tantamount to saying that a certain ethnicity/race of a person determines they way they will interact with society. Stereotypes don't work for people and they don't work for animals. Discrimination and prejudice is the same regardless of the species that it is applied to! It is societally ignorant and morally derelict to believe otherwise!
my dog was wrongfully destroyed by a court order and I am going to do everything in my power to publisize this case and get the judge that ordered this off the bench.
I have had pitbulls in my family since I was a little boy. I see nothing wrong with this breed of dog I see something wrong with our breed. How come media don't ever show when people are chased down by a chiauau or pomeranian.
I used to have an APBT and to me and my family it was the most wonderful we had ever had.
Visitors to our house were very wary of him, only because of the bad reputation that they given.
But once they got to know him, they loved him as we did.
He was friendly, loved attention and idolised the children. It was a sad day when they banned this breed from our country.
My children have missed out on a wonderful breed.
I have a pitbull and she is the sweetest and most well behaved dog. She is good with adults, children, and other animals. She has an excellent temperament and is currently being trained to volunteer in pet therapy. Any dog can be aggressive if trained to be or if mistreated. It is negligent to punish a breed for acts of irresponsible pet owners; today many cities are currently doing so.
I found and abandoned chewed up pitbull puppy on the beach 4 1/2 yrs ago. She is the most loving, smart and obedient dog. I love her with all my heart. She was raised with 2 kids and a cat. The cat kicks her butt and she just takes it. She loves the cat! People need to know that any animal raised in a loving environment will be loving! I have never had such a wonderful animal!
these dogs need to be given a chance, with education and fair media representation. I adopted my dog with all the stereotypes in my head, educated myself, and since then vowed to never own any other breed!
I have 3 pit bulls 12/F,10/M, and 1/M.They are GREAT family dogs.I have never had any problems with my 5 kids (1 handicap)and my pit bulls! They are also inside dogs.
I brought a 1 year male pit bull around my little sisters for the first time and the dog plays with them like he known them for his whole life with no problems
I own 2 full blood pit bulls and would not trade them for any other breed , they are good with my 4 year old son and a part of our family . SAVE THE PITBULLS !!!!!!!!!!!
I have a pitbull who is just over a year. She is not aggressive at all. My neighbors and even strangers can come up to her and she will do nothing but start licking and loving them. As long as you treat the pitbull right and you show them love, they are truely harmless. I am having trouble trying to find an apartment to allow pitbulls and they reason is that everyone believes them to be aggressive. They are just like any other dog in my eyes. We really need to get the truth outh about this bread of dog.
Breed specific legislation, whether addressing the existing dogs or the breeding of the dogs is not the answer to the 'pit bull dilema'. Sound, thorough and concise 'dangerous dog laws' are needed on a nationwide level. The first step in this fight is to encourage and demand unbiased media coverage for all newsworthy dog attacks, not just incidents big and small involving alleged 'pit bulls'. Most people, unfamiar with the true American Pit Bull Terrier could not identify an APBT if their life depended on it. Educate your legislators and hold them accountable for thier decisions.
i have 4 beautiful american pitbull terriers and raise 4 young children. i coulnd't ask for a more loyal pet. They think of the kids as theirs.always playful and love to ride in our vehicles.
Im 18 years old and i just got my first pitbull.he's 2 months old and he's so smart. he's made me love pits even more,I'll never get another kind of dog.so if anybody who reads this like to talk shit about them, e-mail me and we can meet and I can tell you to eat a fattie.
I am not a Pitbull Owner, I have a Labrador and a Boxer, but I would own one in a heartbeat. They are great dogs as are most breeds. Humans are the ones who ruin them plain and simple. The media has really done an injustice to the Pitbull as well. Please do this story. We need to try to change the perception of these wonderful dogs. Thank you for your time.
pit bulls are wonderful blessed dogs. a lab was attack me once and a pit saved me.
don't be hatin' lovin' much easier and the rewards greater...
