HOPE FOR PRESTON HUGHES
AN INNOCENT MAN'S PLEA FOR HELP

PRESTON HUGHES III is a poor innocent man wrongly imprisoned behind the walls of Texas' infamous death row.
In late February or early March of 1988 a "RABBIT" was stabbed a number of times with a "HUNTING KNIFE." (The knife was stored on a shelf in a bedroom closet without being washed.)
During the evening hours of September 26, 1988 two people (a girl and her cousin) were attacked. The police claim the alleged female victim allegedly "called the name Preston before she died."
PRESTON HUGHES III was arrested, on September 27, 1988, because he "knew the (female) victim and a friend of hers named Evelyn." It is believed by those who were close to Preston and the alleged female victim that if she did "call the name Preston before she died" she called the name for help. She and PRESTON HUGHES III were very good friends and he loved and treated her like she was his sister. (PRESTON HUGHES III was NOT the only person named Preston who knew the alleged victim and her friend.)
The hunting knife, mentioned above, was seized from Preston's apartment. And a pair of non-prescription eyeglasses belonging to the alleged female victim were taken from the crime scene, by the police, and "PLANTED" in the cushions of Preston's couch. Pictures were taken to make it appear as though the glasses were allegedly found in the couch.
Preston was put in fear for his life, due to the use of "POLICE BRUTALITY" and "THREATS" made on his life, and forced to involuntarily sign two false confessions created and typed by the police. The arresting officer claims Preston allegedly confessed to stabbing the two alleged victims yet the first false confession, typed by the arresting officer, mentions only ONE person being stabbed. Because of this the second false confession was created to mention two people being stabbed. (The false confessions describe the hunting knife as being the alleged murder weapon.)
The hunting knife was tested during the trial, on Tuesday May 02, 1989, by a Forensic Expert who conducted a chemical analysis on it. The results of the chemical analysis, given out of the presence of the jury, revealed the hunting knife tested "NEGATIVE FOR HUMAN BLOOD, POSITIVE FOR ANIMAL BLOOD." (The knife was introduced, by the prosecutor, and admitted into evidence, by the judge, as the murder weapon without making the jury aware of the fact it was disproven to be the murder weapon.)
MR. HUGHES' CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO A FAIR TRIAL UNDER THE DUE PROCESS OF LAW WERE DENIED. THE JUDGE, PROSECUTOR, POLICE AND COURT-APPOINTED TRIAL ATTORNEYS CONSPIRED TO CONVICT HIM WITH A SERIES OF "ILLEGAL" MANEUVERS SUCH AS: FABRICATED AND FALSIFIED DOCUMENTS AND PERJURED TESTIMONY BY AND FROM AUTHORITY FIGURES AT LARGE. HE WAS WRONGLY CONVICTED ON MAY 03, 1989 AND WRONGLY SENTENCED TO DEATH ON MAY 04, 1989.
Preston Hughes III has been on death row since May 17, 1989 and he is in imminent danger of receiving an execution date and being wrongly killed. He is appealing to you for your most urgently needed support in the struggle to prove his innocence and regain his freedom. He is in dire need of funds, in the range of $ 70,000 U.S. dollars, to finance an investigator to obtain evidence that establishes his innocence and the fact he has been framed by the police. PERCHE’ PRESTON HUGHES III° E’ STATO
CONDANNATO A MORTE?

Tra la fine di Febbraio e gli inizi del Marzo 1988, Preston, andando a caccia di selvaggina s’imbattè in un coniglio e lo uccise con un coltello da caccia.
Tale coltello da caccia non venne mai lavato: venne riposto su di una mensola, nell’armadio della camera da letto di Preston.
DOPO 7 MESI CIRCA, la mattina di lunedì 26/09/88, Preston andò al lavoro: lasciò il suo appartamento verso le ore 06.00 e timbrò il cartellino d’entrata alle ore 08.00. Lo ritimbrò all’uscita alle 18.30 (senza MAI uscire dal posto di lavoro durante tutta la giornata).
Preston, a quell'ora, attese un collega che gli avrebbe dato un passaggio in auto fino alla fermata del bus.
Verso le 19, all’interno del parcheggio del luogo di lavoro, Preston incontrò due suoi colleghi (testimoni/alibi): parlarono insieme per un po’ e poi decisero di andare ad una stazione di servizio di benzina che offriva anche il servizio bar-negozio (tipo i nostri “autogrill” autostradali).
Là acquistarono dei liquori & soda, e rimasero in piedi, fuori nel parcheggio, a parlare e a bersi qualcosa insieme.
Uscirono dal negozio intorno alle 20.10. Nel frattempo il collega che avrebbe dovuto dare un passaggio a Preston fino alla fermata del bus, se ne era andato a casa.
Preston perse per un soffio il bus, quindi decise di andare in un negozio per comprarsi qualcosa da mangiare aspettando il prossimo bus (altri testimoni/alibi).
Acquistò del cibo e lo mangiò all’interno del negozio: poi s’incamminò verso la fermata del bus. Salì in autobus verso le 20.45 ma, una volta salito, si addormentò.
Andò oltre la sua fermata e il conducente (testimone/alibi), una volta arrivati al capolinea, lo svegliò: erano circa le 22.00.
Preston allora scese, si rese conto di dov’era ed andò in un negozio per farsi cambiare della moneta (altri testimoni/alibi) allo scopo di chiamare un taxi.
Cambiò la moneta, uscì e telefonò da uno dei due telefoni pubblici per chiamare il taxi. Nel frattempo telefonò ad un suo amico (telefonata alibi) per parlare un po’ insieme fino all’arrivo del taxi.
L’amico gli disse che sua sorella
non era ancora rientrata a casa.
Una volta arrivato il taxi (tassista, testimone/alibi), Preston salutò l’amico, riappese la cornetta e salì in taxi: arrivò a casa sua, finalmente, verso le 22.30.

Nelle ore serali di quel giorno, una ragazzina quindicenne ed il suo cuginetto di tre anni furono attaccati e uccisi in un campo che si trovava nella parte posteriore di un ristorante e di due condomini.
Un amico della ragazzina dichiarò di averli visti VIVI intorno alle 21 (a quell’ora Preston era in autobus che dormiva! O comunque avrebbe potuto essere, se non fosse stato nell'autobus che dormiva, in un negozio a cambiar moneta per chiamare il taxi! O comunque, ancor prima, aveva da poco perso l’autobus e stava mangiando qualcosa dentro ad un negozio! Tutte circostanze con testimoni oculari/alibi).
La polizia sostiene che la ragazzina vittima, prima di morire, disse: "Preston".
La mattina seguente, martedì 27/09/1988 Preston venne arrestato “poiché il suo nome era Preston, poiché aveva abitato in quell’area tempo addietro, poiché conosceva sia la vittima sia un’amica di lei, di nome Evelyn”.
Per Preston la vittima, sorella del suo amico al quale aveva telefonato tra le 22 e le 22.30, era come una sorella minore: forse la povera ragazzina disse: "Preston" come per avere un aiuto?
La polizia, invece, sostenne che lo chiamò per indicare il suo assassino.
L’appartamento di Preston venne perquisito, senza mandato legale, almeno tre volte: sembra che la polizia abbia trovato nel luogo del delitto degli occhiali, appartenenti alla vittima, e che li abbia riposti tra i cuscini del divano di Preston, oltre ad averli fotografati come “prova”.
Preston venne minacciato e pestato dalla pattuglia della polizia di Houston, fintanto che firmò una FALSA dichiarazione di colpevolezza: lui, infatti, la firmò a causa delle minacce e percosse subite dagli agenti stessi.
Due investigatori “controfirmarono” la FALSA dichiarazione di Preston: essi testimoniarono quindi il falso (spergiuro e falsa testimonianza).

Riassumendo: venne sequestrato,

SENZA alcun mandato di perquisizione,

il coltello da caccia di Preston

e si sostenne che

QUELLA FU “L’ARMA DEL DELITTO”!

Un esperto forense fece le analisi chimiche e venne fatto testimoniare, SENZA che la giuria fosse presente!, sull’esito delle analisi chimiche:
“COLTELLO POSITIVO A SANGUE ANIMALE, NEGATIVO A SANGUE UMANO!”

NONOSTANTE LE ANALISI CHIMICHE discolpassero COMPLETAMENTE Preston, il pubblico ministero mostrò alla giuria il coltello da caccia insanguinato (da sangue di coniglio!) ostinandosi, nella assoluta FALSITA’(e ulteriore reato di spergiuro), a dichiarare questo come l’arma del delitto.
Preston, quindi, all’ora del delitto, si trovava da tutt’altra parte: è “colpevole” di chiamarsi Preston; è “colpevole” perché la vittima (sua grande amica da anni) fece il suo nome prima di morire (forse per chiamare aiuto?); è “colpevole” perché aveva vissuto nella zona del delitto; è “colpevole” perché, a causa di pestaggi, ha firmato una “dichiarazione…” di colpevolezza; è “colpevole” perché sono stati trovati gli occhiali della vittima sui cuscini del suo divano (chi li ha messi?); è “colpevole” per aver avuto in casa un coltello da caccia con tracce di SANGUE DI CONIGLIO: coltello da caccia che gli diede il colpo di grazia, in quanto, nonostante le analisi chimiche prodotte in aula, SENZA la presenza della giuria, il pubblico ministero, spergiurando (reato molto grave!) e in modo assolutamente falso (reato di falsa testimonianza, altro reato della pubblica accusa), dichiarò che PROPRIO QUELLA era l’arma del delitto (ma la VERA arma del delitto non venne mai rinvenuta)!

La giuria lo condannò il 03/05/1989 ed il giorno dopo emise la sentenza di CONDANNA A MORTE.

Preston Hughes si trova nel “braccio della morte” dal 17/05/1989!

Ora occorre salvare la VITA a Preston: la data dell’esecuzione (al 12/02/05) non è stata ancora fissata. Bisogna tuttavia bruciare i tempi perché i termini dell’appello non cadano in decorrenza: per riaprire il processo, gli servono circa 70,000 U.S.$! Questo è il costo per far riaprire i processi dei condannati a morte, costi di avvocati, di nuovi investigatori, di tasse forensi etc. etc.
