This is more a forum for expressing disgust at some of the comments posted on the www.petitionspot.com/petitions/BANGAYS petition. Reading all the posts on this sickened me. However it also amused me how they all talked about morality while constantly swearing. The Post said that anyone who posed a pro gay marriage statement on this petition would have it deleted, so here is a place to express your views on the matter, and please, unlike the one it was inspired by refrain from swearing unless you really must, it's just boring to much swearing.

Marriage was originally instated to help govern the tradition by protecting the rights of the two spouses. Marriage was not a religious ceremony until about the 12th century... There are no religious reasons behind marriage\'s origination. I realize traditions change so if that is the case and marriage is considered religious then where does the constitution principle of Separation of Church and State come in? Separation of Church and State was created so that the government was not to involve itself in the businesses of the church. Currently around my area in Northern Michigan we have quite a few churches that support gay marriage… So either the government needs to step up and realize they are directly violating Separation of Church and State or get their facts right and realize marriage was not even a religious practice for the first 1,200 years after \"Christ\'s Death.\"

Disagree totally. If it is genetic, then they are freaks of nature and should be put down. Don't like my opinion? Tough shit.

i think that if they are happy then leave them be. me being a bi-sexual myselve i get picked on by some but at the same time i 'm seen as a person who knows what she wants and is thanked for it due to the fact that since i came out to my school and others followed but at their own time.

If you are against gay marriage, you are basically a Nazi, or a control freak trying to make everyone the same way, doing the same things. Ever heard of the book 1985, or how about Fahrenheit 451? Government control is sickening, especially when they keep two people apart. Let people marry whomever they want!!!! Born Gay, Follow the Ray! Born Straight, Refuse to Hate

I support this petition. If the United States is against gay marriage to strengthen the "institution of matrimony", then why don't they go after re-marriage or divorce, too? Marriage is a binding relationship between two consenting, of-age adults, no matter the sexual orientation involved. Also, the First Ammendment calls for seperation of church and state, yet laws banning gya marriage are based on little more than religious conservatives pushing their ideals into laws...hmmm...

I totally agree with Ryan Mckenzie. Anyone should be allowed to marry anyone they want to, and absolutely no one has any right to say they can't. ANARCHY OF THE PEOPLE

infringing on ones personal life choices are not fair. these choices do not violently affect anyone. in fact, it is only a matter of opinion. two woman or two men that have shared a life together and with NO ONE else have no matremonial rights over a mate if they happen to pass. imagine if this person that passed family has turned their back on this person for their lives choices. and now the body of this person is a ward of the state and now becomes a tax-payers matter when their mate would have been willing to give him/her a proper burial on their own dime. so now we are paying for it, and this poor soul who has just lost their everything has to watch their everything lose all after life wishes. sending the deseased in an unrested eternity.
