Keep Richard Lord as a voice actor for Wheatley

Wheatley is a loose personality core that we meet in the teasers for Valve Software's new installment of the hit game Portal, Portal 2.

Since being made Wheatley has been attached to a series of tracks hanging from the laboratory ceiling. To keep him from running off he has been told that he would "die instantly" if he were to detach himself. He risks it though and breaks away from the tracks that confine him to become your companion.

Once Wheatley risks his life, he becomes a vital companion locking into certain computers and opening panels to give the player the path to proceed.

I found him instantly likable, the brilliant voice acting by Richard Lord (a Valve animator) played a large part in this, bringing back the dry, black humor i have been missing since the original.

Sadly, Doug Lombardi from Valve told Wired.com that the Wheatley voice in the teaser is placeholder audio only and that Lord’s voice may or may not appear in the final game.
