I support this petition.
Even the Koran says...
Surah 2:256 – “There is no compulsion in religion…”
Surah 16:82 – “Then, if they turn away, your duty (O Muhammad) is only to convey (the Message) in a clear way.”
Surah 42:48 – “But if they turn away (from Islam). We have not sent you as a Hafiz (watcher, protector) over them (to take care of their deeds and to recompense them). Your duty is to convey (the Message)…”
Surah 88:21-22 – “And so, (O Prophet!) exhort them, your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe.”
Do not return to that from whence your nation has come Mr. President. Please make every effort to remember your not too distant past or as the saying goes, your nation will certainly repeat it! I support this petition.
Killing someone for their religious beliefs is illegal under international law and the U.S. and its representatives can be held legally responsible for this most serious of human rights violations.
Just when I was getting fed up with our Near East military presence something like this happens and makes me think perhaps it's a good thing we are there.
Let me see if I understand this: We send our troops to remove the oppressive Taliban regime - then brag how free the Afghans are - and now an Afghan citizen is jailed and faces execution for CHOOSING Christianity over Islam? The WHO had a song about this: "Meet the new boss - same as the old boss - won't get fooled again."
I support this petition. If we do not defend basic human rights in the countries we support then all of the sacrifices by our troops have been worthless.
We support this petition. All people of this world should have the right to choose their own religion. No one should ever be put to death for converting from Islam to Christianity, or vice versa for that matter.
I support this petition. It is a complete hypocrisy for America to idly stand by after sending our own men to Afghanistan to defend the ideals of democracy.
I support this petition wholeheartedly. This action is an abomination against all we fought for. The actions of the Afghani Government are reprehensible.
A forced belief in God is meaningless, I'm sure, to God. How ironic the many American lives lost fighting for a country where they could have been executed for being Christian.
I support this petition. Americans have spent billions in Afganistan, and some even died there thinking they were making Afganistan a freer society. Please honor these sacrifices by respecting the freedom of speech and religion of this man.
Abdul`s story clearly shows how human basic rights are violated in Afghanistan. Every human being has the right to life, only our Almighty creator can take that away from us. Hopefully, Abdul Rahman`s story will be an inspiration to all other individuals who are being persecuted in basis of their religion, or other choices that they might make. Abdul is in my prayers, and may Jesus be with him!!!
This is not a religious issue, for which Christians must fight. This is an issue of basic human rights and the future of global democracy as it is developing in the Middle East for which all people, of all faiths, should be fighting. I strongly support this petition.
I, too, have converted to believe in Christ and I'm not insane.
I demand every halt to torture and psychiatric treatment of Abdul Rahman. He is fearing God the Almighty more than people, and therefore ready to die for his faith.
I support this petition. The World has taken a strong position in terms of our treasure and blood to help resolve failures in your system. You must now step forward to resolve this political/social failure in your system. If you do not enforce your Constitution (reference supplied) you have not learned from the last 50 years of your exposure to the modern era. If you do not learn from your History, you are destined to repeat it.
