The murder of Abdul Rahman is not only against the the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, but ultimately against the law of God. I support this petition.
I support this petition. While I see nothing at all wrong with basing a country's laws on the religious traditions of its citizens (like the US has) I do hope that some manner of saving this man's life may be found that is consistent with the traditions of the emerging Afghanistan law. Perhaps he can simply lose his custody case or be fined perhaps. It seems to me this would be a fine time for the Afghan government to set a new, humane, yet traditionally-consistent statute with regards to cases like this.
We all want Afghanistan to succeed, but that success is most likely in a climate of freedom, where its citizens are not told what to think, or how to believe. God bless Afghanistan.
The Afghani constitution guarantees religious freedom. President Karzai, you've worked hard, and even put your own life in danger, for the sake of a democratic Afghanistan. Don't let a radical interpretation of the Quran be the reason Abdul Rahman dies. Support his right to religious freedom.
When did the Taliban take over! This is a disgrace, barbaric, and disgusting! Is Afgan. still in the Dark Ages!
Democracy is freedom of religion!
The U.S. did not spill blood to support another Taliban!
American blood was spilled to allow those in Afghanistan to celebrate freedom. Imprisoning someone who exercises their freedoms is not what we had in mind. Mr. Rahman should be freed immediately. I strongly support this petition.
I will say a prayer as well.
Once again opportunity rears it's ugly head. This is an opportunity to advance human rights through out the Islamic world.
Freedom means choice and respecting the choices of others. Freedom means protecting minorities and their opinions. We have to help the new government of Afghanistan toward political maturity. I support this petition.
I support this petition. Does killing this man because he chose to become a Christian do anything but define Islam, not as a peaceful religion, but a vengeful one? Why would anyone want to consider enjoining themselves to such a practice unless by duress? It is true - democracy incorporates freedom of religion, else it will NEVER work.
Thank God for believers in Christ who are willing to give their lives for their faith. We pray for Mr. Rahman's strength and resolve. We pray for the leaders who can change this unjust trial and set Mr. Rahman free..
I support this petition. My husband is a member of the u.s. military. I did not send him off to war so you can execute an innocent man. A man who has committed no crime.
I support this petition. Our soldiers fought and died so that Afghanis could have freedom. There is no freedom without freedom of conscience. Please do not allow our sacrifices on your behalf to be in vain.
I support this petition. Pres. Karzai, please recognize that while religious freedom may seem odious to some devout Muslims, it is foundational to a democracy.
I support this
petition.
For the US to stand by and do nothing to stop this muurder is as agregious as the lunacy being perpetrated by the Islamo-fascists.
