Interesting, everytime I see a rock fan trying to compare their music to rap, the only thing that they are only able to come up with is that "they play instruments" and that "it talks about real issues". Poor poor John, so misguided that he absolutely misunderstood everything from my post. In case you weren't paying attention, I was talking about rock fans, NOT all of the American people, or the entire world. You see, rock fans have this crazy thought of how rock rules all and everything else is trash cause rock has instruments. Furthermore, they believe that rock has been popular for such a long time and should continue to be popular, and everything else shouldn't. So ok, rock has instruments and it's been popular for a long time, So this is where my point about classical, country, mexican music, and jazz comes in. Now if rock fans are mostly concerned about instruments (this is where they love bragging so much about their music being so talented) then why don't I see the same appreciation from them about those 4 other music genres I listed? Also, if rock fans are so concerned about their music having to be #1 and popular, then why again, don't they show the same support for those 4 genres? And the ironic part is, when it comes to country music, guess what, they bash on this music as well, saying how it's untalented and they laugh at the fact that it isn't popular. Even you yourself says that you don't care much for country, but I thought that rock fans care so much about "instruments", where they would also always bring up the infamous definition of music. So basically, I'm not quite understanding these rock fan's motives as to why they whine and complain so much when it comes to music. Oh yea, and another thing I also find ironic is that, rock fans claim that rock has been popular for the longest time, and all of a sudden when pop, rap, and r&b takes over, that these genres are considered "fads"? So are they saying that during the times when rock was popular that this music itself was not considered a fad, and that it did not influence their fan

classical, country, and Latin or Spanish music are both good, and popular, you moron. Classical and jazz are almost almost always good. Not all of it, of course, but most of it. Everybody with a brain knows who Mozart, Bethoven, and Bach are. You're making the mistake of judging what's good or what's popular from only the opinion of America's youth, rather than the entire world! Like it or not country sells more than rap, if you don't believe go check the sales charts on the net.
