Webster Comfort Care Home opened Early 2003, and was built by the community through generous donations of time, money, and effort.

The Board of Directors was self-apointed and has demonstrated the inability to properly manage WCC. The Board closed WCC in June 2007 as a result of not having adequate staff to operate the comfort care home. Closing an operation due to lack of staff is proof that the Board of Directors have not properly managed WCC.

The RN gave the Board several months notice, yet her position was not filled. The Volunteer Coordinator was summarily let-go around the same time- creating two vital vacant positions - forcing WCC to close.

This Comfort care home is vital to our community. The Board has been asked to resign to allow a new board of qualified proactive people to re-open, re-structure, and effectivly manage WCC. Thay have refused to resign.

WCC is a not-for-profit operation. Not-for-profit operations are governed by NYS Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo.

This petition is to ask Andrew Cuomo to demand the removal of the current Board of Directors of Webster Comfort Care.

Your signature of this petition supports the removal of Webster Comfort Care's current Board of Directors.

This wonderful home was built by the webster community, for the people of this area who were in such need of care. It is absolutely incumbent upon all of us to do everything possible to keep this home open and operational. The entire board needs to go, a complete house cleaning is mandatory. The current director had PLENTY of notice of the impending retirement of the nurse, and he chose to do nothing. He is not even aware of the day to day happenings of the staff and volunteers. He chooses to remain in his office in the lower level, while the main function and heart of the home takes place on the first floor. He may be a good man, but he is not suitable for this type of caring enviroment. Webster Comfort Care Home needs to reopen soon and with a completly new staff, who are ready to refocus their endeavours on care and comfort for the terminally ill.

The closing of the home was at the hand of the current director, who does not appear to have the best interest of our home, our residents and volunteers in mind. In spite of many complaints from the volunteers about the director to the board, the board has decided to back the director, terminate key staff and close the home. I have lost faith and struggle with going back. The board and the director need to be replaced so that WCCH can get back to what we used to do best - care for the dying and their families.

This comfort care home was built to serve the community , and presently the board is not fullfilling its mission. They have failed to find adequate replacements for key personel that have left, and fired a person that was doing an outstanding job. The director is too busy staying in his office, instead of interacting with the staff and the residents. An entire housecleaning is an appropriate step to get this wonderful asset back on tract. The community that built this home deserves the opportunity to use this facility once again. The board has refused to recognize the fact that they have a director that is totally out of his league in a comfort care setting. He refuses to interact with the residents and their families, a must do in such a caring place. Please , please force the board out and let's get back to the initial goal of care and concern.

I'm confident the members of our community would have stepped up to volunteer at WCC , myself included if proper notice would have been given.
