The undersigned ask that the County of Nassau ELECTED officials re-examine the proposals set forth by Executice Suozzi recently to settle a multi million dollar shortfall.

While EVERYONE agrees Nassau County is not immune to the current WORLDWIDE financial recession, the cure is NOT by decimating County services. CSEA Local 830 are the LOWEST PAID of all the County Unions. The workforce has declined steadily over the past decade.

Mr. Suozzi has refused to address the $700,000,000. (SEVEN HUNDRED MILLION dollars illegally refunded on tax challenges. It has been shown time and again that Nassau is refunding the school portion of these challenges with NO REIMBURSEMENT and NEVER had collected the tax in the first place.

Nassau is the ONLY jurisdiction in the State of NY doing this. It has been shown time and again by the STATE to be ILLEGAL.

DO NOT ALLOW THIS COUNTY TO BE FURTHER DECIMATED BY GIVING MR. SUOZZI THE POWER TO SHUT DOWN THE COUNTY ONE EXTRA DAY A WEEK .. or THE WEEK PRIOR TO NEW YEARS.
