SOB - Save Our Bart!

Mr. Sheffer and Mr. Corday,
Though it has not yet been officially announced, it has come to our attention that the character of Bart Biederbecke as played by Steve Blackwood, is to be "axed" from Days of Our Lives in August, permanently.
As fans of Days of Our Lives and Bart we would like to express our dismay at this decision.
First, we would like to let you know do we appreciate all you have done for the show. The return of the "veterans", the ongoing explanation and resolution of the DiMera/Brady feud, and the repair of Tony DiMera's badly damaged character are more than welcome. The show is a pleasure to watch again, however, in the case of Bart, we believe you have missed the mark.
Bart is a well loved character. We were all pleased he was returning with the DiMera's, and have thoroughly enjoyed having him onscreen again. When the rumour came out he was being let go, the response on the message boards was almost universal, the fans want Bart to stay!
First and foremost, Bart makes us laugh. He has given us a smile when, in the dark world of Salem, there was often little else to smile about. This is all thanks to the talented Steve Blackwood who took a one note thug and turned him into oddly compelling goof.
Many fans have also expressed how disappointed they were that Bart has never had his own story. Quite a few of us have been interested in Bart's history. Bart's intense loyalty to the DiMera's has never been explained. A small side story would have been nice.
Finally a main issue bought up on the message boards is how unfair this is to Steve Blackwood. Steve has been a loyal member of the Days cast for ten years. He expressed in a recent interview how happy he was to be back. He was welcomed back to the show with open arms. To turn around and fire him now and kill off his character seems like a slap in the face.
We are worried Bart's removal from the show is directly linked to his association with, as has now been revealed, Andre. Bart has always been a bit bad but he's always had a conscience as well. Don't let him get dragged down with Andre.
Please, Mr. Corday, Mr. Sheffer, we respectfully request Bart Biederbecke be given a 'stay of execution'. Allow him to redeem himself and reintegrate with the rest of Salem. If anyone can do this Mr. Sheffer we think you can. If you give Steve Blackwood an opportunity to show off how compelling Bart can be, we know he will not disappoint you.
We look forward to having Bart light up our screens with laughter for many show to come. Thank you very much for your time.
