We, the undersigned, having learned

that AUMOHD, a unique non-violent, non-partisan human rights advocacy agency based in Port-Au-Prince and working voluntarily for the rights of the poor is seeking international help in Croix-des-Bouquets; and

that AUMOHD has successfully argued before Judge Edzer Aristilde that Mr. Jean Pierre Saint Luc, member of the AUMOHD-sponsored Community Human Rights Council of Croix-des-Bouquets (CHRC_CDB), was illegally arrested by District Attorney Aldrin Joassaint and in an unwarranted punitive act detained in the very dangerous National Penitentiary; and

that AUMOHD has brought a complaint against DA Joassaint to have him dismissed and put on trial for abuse of office;

Therefore, wish the above named authorities to know

that we and other international observers are watching this case very closely and;

that we commend the actions to date of the local judiciary, Chief Prosecutor Alix Civil and Director General Mario Andresol of the Haitian National police in carrying out their duties professionally and for continuing to follow this case.; and

that we support the work of AUMOHD and the CHRC-CDB in strengthening grass roots human rights in Croix-Des-Bouquets and in other places where the poor are concentrated and lack access to human rights defenders.
