This madness needs to end! Six years of will they, wont they, didnt they is way too much. I thought this show was about how Clark Kent became Superman?!
clana makes me ill and i stopped watching season 6 because of it. not only does their relationship make me sick but i cant stand their characters when they are together, they're so boring and exhausting to watch. clark really needs to move on he's been outta higschool for two years now. boy needs to grow up and focus on becoming Superman.
Im utterly disgusted and angered as to what this show has become. Since when did Smallville become the "Clark and Lana show." The beginning of season 6 was going so good with Lex & Lana together, and the introduction of Green Arrow, and than the writers had to go and resurrect Clana for the thousandth time. When will they realize that Clana does nothing for the characters or the show, and ratings will prove just that. If they want this show to survive for another season they need to end the freakin Clana crap for good and start focusing on Clark's destiny rather on his pathetic higschool hangups *gags*
I used to be a Clana fan, and their relationship had long died and buried in my heart. At first that is what I thought at the beginning of season 6, until.. you know what happened. I wish they never revived their relationship again. Period.

I think that Kristin is awesome and I have nothing against her, but I am sure even she is tired of this back and forth pathetic drama called "Clana".
Smallville is Superman, and Superman was never a whiny, mopey loser as our Clark has turned into because of Lana. I'd say it would make Lana lovable if the writers make her the comic book Lana i.e, Clark's friend and confindante like Chloe is.
This story is about Clark, Lois and Lex. Please show us the journeys of these three iconic characters instead of useless romance and the tiresome Clana.

Back and forth between Clark and Lana just brings down my faith in this Superman. The way Clark and Lana relationship is the world can go to hell as along as Clark is with Lana. And one more thing can you make Clark do some of his investigations on his own instead to running to Chloe everytine. Apart from being Superman he is one of the top reporters of DP in the future.
This ship has run its course and all the drama involved with it is cuasing the show to g downhill. Just when it seems things are looking up... the Clana BS comes in and mucks everything up.
This is nothing against either of the actors... this is a pure and simple plea to focus on good story telling and character development.
There is a lot of potential for this show and some very talented actors (Allison Mack shines!), however, this constant focus on this particular relationship is dragging the show down.
I have already stopped watching Smallville unless I hear about the show and watch it after the original air date, and am pretty close to stopping altogether. With the recent spoilers I think I will soon stop watching altogether. And while I don't think a show should pander to a particular fan-group, and sacrifice artistic liscence, I don't particularily want to watch a show based on such a superficial and distructive relationship - especially when I know that it has so much more to offer. I know, because of episodes such as "Freak" that Smallville, and its writers, and creators, can offer so much more!
I was raised on superman, from the time I was born, I knew the story and the comics and this Clana story line has become the worst betrayal to that legacy that I have ever seen. The show had such potential, the acting chemistry between Rosenbaum ad Welling was almost electric, but they have killed it, stifled a thousand good plots for the sake of a side character who never mattered in the superman universe. Its so convoluted now that the only way to truly save it would be if Clark woke up in season 2 and found this all had been a horrid nightmare. Espascially Lois. Don't get me started on that monstrous fuck-up.
Let's please move on from the high school pining and whining melodrama known as Clana. In it's 6th season shouldn't the show now revolve around Clark Kent moving closer towards his Superman destiny? Smallville has done a beautiful job creating a pre-Superman Clark Kent...and Lex Luthor. I always felt the story of Clark growing towards his destiny and the early development of the Clark/Lex relationship lay at the heart of what Smallville was all about. Let's get on with the excitment of watching Clark Kent and his future arch enemy take the final steps of their journey into Supeman lore.
Jonathan's death, the other superheroes coming to Smallville to train Clark to become Superman, Raya's death, the others who have been affected by the second meteor shower and the Phantoms will mean nothing unless you stop this back and forth with Clark and Lana. The beginning of season 6 had given us hope that this Clark Kent might become Superman but after Justice its the same old dead relationship again. If this is an alternate universe in which this Clark Kent will never become Superman but stay as a farmer please tell us now so that we don't have to waste our time investing in this show
I’ve been a hardcore Superman fan since seeing “Superman III” at age 4 in 1983. From there, I’ve gone on to watch 6 different film/TV incarnations of the mythos, including “Smallville.” I’ve also been an avid reader of Superman comic books since 1990. Although I still enjoy watching “Smallville,” it differs from other incarnations of Superman in one particularly irritating aspect: Lana Lang, if mentioned at all, was Clark Kent’s first love, not the star-crossed soul mate the show would have you believe. Even people with only the most rudimentary knowledge of Superman know that Lois Lane is Clark Kent/Superman’s true love and wife. In the current comics’ continuity, it is LANA who pines for Clark and has no respect for Clark’s marriage, not the other way around.
It’s no accident that episodes like ARROW, HYDRO, JUSTICE, and CRIMSON were well-regarded episodes; they all focused on Clark’s journey and/or featured comic book-esqe superhero action sequences. In an attempt (poorly executed, IMHO) to appeal to a younger demographic, TPTB are driving away hardcore fans of the mythos who are tired of the recycled soap opera storylines and the “1 step forward, 200 steps back” treatment of Clark’s journey towards becoming Superman. Case in point: I have several comic book friends, all professionals at the younger end of that coveted 18-49 demographic, who stopped watching 2-3 episodes ago when it no longer became possible for them to believe that this whiner who pines incessantly for his insipid boyhood crush will ever grow up to become the comics' most iconic superhero.
Smallville is a great show, but seeing Clark and Lana together romantically is dragging the whole thing down. Wont Clark ever move on to someone who actually deserves his attention? Clark and Lana pining over each other incessantly for 5+ years is rather nauseating. Please can't we move on to greener pastures?
The Clana must go or I will. There is more to write than the dead Clana drama, its old, stale, spoiled,shrivled, dried up turned into dust blowing in the wind. DO NOT RESURRECT The dead horse that you beaten to death, over and over. Give it up there is plenty of other story lines to write, like actual Superman mythos. Please, please, please end the Clana and put Clark and us viewers out of our misery. I have been skipping over the Lana parts for some time now. Love the show other than the Clana.
I don't enjoy watching any TV-show the way I enjoy Smallville. It's my favorite show. But lately, it's been a disappoinment. The reason for the that is the never ending drama that is the Clark and Lana romance. It was okay in the first couple of season, but it's been six years and enough is enough. Lana finding out his secret would've excited me more in the past seasons, but now it's like "Eh, so what's next?" Hopefully not another round of Clana.
I would LOVE to watch Clark learn to grow out of his insecurities and see that there is a life for him beyond his obsession for Lana.
I wouldn't mind seeing a FRIENDSHIP start to blossom between them. Now that she knows his secret, it'll be nice to see them help each other out.
And ending Clana would be a great way to develop Lana's character- not just Clark. A lot of Smallville fans dislike Lana because she's mostly come off as whiney, selfish and weak. And that's only when she's with Clark.
Please save the show, save Clark, redeem Lana, and kill the Clana.
I started watching the show in the past two years - not having any long attachment to Lana Lang I find her character as she is being written today to be a distraction not an addition to the show.
Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan- both of these women bring something to the show. Verve, intelligence and they play well off Tom Welling. It is time for him to stop moping about his high school girlfriend and move on already. Best episode of the season was the Lana free JUSTICE. I fast forward through her whenever I can.
Clark needs to start becoming a man, a man that becomes Superman. This show is too centered around the soap opera drama that is named Clana. Would really like both Lana and Clark to part way permanently.
It seriously does need to end... which I thought it had as the first half of the season had shown (there was barely ANY Clana interaction at all!)... only to have it come back full force starting in Hydro... I don't know it seemed like he would have started to finally show some sort of feelings for Lois after their little smoocharama, but then in the SAME episode, comes back Clana, which seems like it was out of nowhere, again! I'm all for a Clana friendship, or let Lana do the pining (since she never seems to get over him in the comics) and let Clark move on!
All you have to do is look at this season's ratings to see how the Clark/Lana yo-yo "love story" is slowly strangling and killing this show. After CRIMSON, an exceptional episode that hinted that Clark might be willing to see beyond his boyhood fantasies, TPTB insisted on regressing him back to pining for a girl who does nothing but hurt him. As a result, TRESSPASS, PROMISE, and COMBAT suffered greatly in ratings because people are SICK of this DAWSON'S CREEK soap angle to the show.
Highest rated eps were HYDRO, JUSTICE, and CRIMSON because they focused on highly COMIC book related storylines.
As she's been written on this show Lana is selfish, untrustworthy, and morally questionable. None of these qualities are of a woman who Clark Kent the future SUPERMAN should be interested in.
The time has come for him to GROW UP, realize he was in love w/ a fantasy and never really loved Lana.
The time has come for his affections to shift and for him to start pining for his future wife, Lois Lane. Nothing romantic has to happen, he just needs to start to see that Lois possesses the qualities he needs in his life to help him become The Man of Steel.
Lose the stupid love story w/ Lana - loose a few teenage girl viewers. Go to more COMIC Book stories gain HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of COMIC book fantatic viewers...all who are older, work, and have MONEY that can bring in better advertising dollars for the failing CW.

Clana makes my head hurt and kills the shows forward momentum unquestionably. With Clana out of the way, Clark could stop being so emo and there would be a level of uncertainty that would draw in the viewers. Will he go for Chloe? Or will he go for Lois? Or does a freak of the week make his knees weak?

Smallville is, theoretically, about the guy that will grow up to be Superman. Superman (Clark Kent) was never supposed to be with Lana Lang. Lois Lane is his love interest. Now that Smallville has left highschool, it's time for Clark to let go of his childhood crush. Furthermore, both Lana and Clark are diminished by this pathetic, codependent 'relationship'. Let's move on.
This show has gotten stale and Clana is the biggest reason why. Even soap operas aren't this overblown and insipid. Clark and Lana are far more interesting apart than together. I resent having the Clark/Lana relationship shoved down my throat time and again, when it should have ended long ago.

Enough regression, time for progression! The teen years are over, it's time for Clark Kent to grow up and progress steadily towards his destiny: becoming Superman and falling for Lois Lane. Give Lex back his strength, and let Lana be his queen. They play off each other brilliantly. Lois & Clark have more chemistry then any of the previous relationships on the show combined. This show is supposed to show the coming of age of Superman...please start showing it!
Personal biases aside, recycling the same stale love story season after season is flat out bad writing.
I'm not a TV screenwriter, but even I know that keeping the material fresh is important to the livelihood of any episodic endeavor.
If this were a comic book, even an "origins" comic book, Lana would have been very, very old news by now.
Clana is nothing but a freakin trainwreck that has done nothing but turn this show into a lame, boring preteen soap opera. Clark needs to grow up and start becoming a man instead of dwelling on his past lovesick stalker fantasies. I was really enjoying how Lana was developing, and now you've shoved her back to (the awfully boring) square one. Also, I'm interested in Clark becoming Superman, not his totally unrealistic love-life. Could they just move on already?
There are only so many times that you can do something on a show before it gets boring. A perfect example of that is the Clana. Clark and Lana have broken up and gotten back together so many times now that it has become repetitive and annoying. Smallville is about Clark Kent's development into Superman, and by constantly focusing the show on Clark's relationship with Lana, his development is underplayed and stunted. Stop holding him back with petty breakups and plot lines that mirror those of a soap opera!
There's only one season left to try to save this show from the soapy pre-teen crapfest it has become. Don't waste it on 22 copy-and-paste Clana scenes.
These characters are boring on their own so together they are tedious in the extreme, especially since their eternal on-off-on-off melodrama has been drawn out, dead horse like, for nearly six seasons. Please have some pity on the fans who enjoy characters with a little more enthusiasm and zest for life than poor little tragic Lana, and let Clark get together with Chloe (who next to Lex is by far the best and most watchable character on the show and woefully underused as Research Girl) or even Lois as a last resort. Believe me, we'll take what we can get at this point. PLEASE, LET THE CLANA FINALLY, FINALLY DIE.

The Clark and Lana relationship should have ended while they were still in high school. It was a sweet puppy love that should remained such. The couple should have grown and matured and Clark moves on to Lois and Lana moves on to Pete... oh yeah. Or whomever.
