This Furcadia Petition statement is within the rules and regulations of Furcadia. Having went over the user agreement and spoken to a in-game Beekin. This petition in no way state or form is against the rules in-game. And is here simply to state people's opinions who are in the business of Alt-Trading within the game.

As most of you know, there have been many things said about the new e-mail registrations. That it will eventually lead to a limit of how many ALTs a
person can or can’t own. Most of us, Alt traders, have become slightly stressed over this notion. A lot of you out there have taken both your time, and money in getting some of those names of yours, and even created a lot of them too. And now there is a notion that someone might be taking them away, after so long of a time where people have traded, just because other people dislike the way we do things.

An argument was recently proposed to me, that even though we think it is wrong to suddenly take our names away, that there is a lot of other people out there that would like names such as ours, but are upset that they’d have to pay for them. I personally thought about this for awhile and could only come up with this conclusion. This argument could also basically be based on the many other people within Furcadia who wish to own a nice looking dream, but don’t know how to dream weave. As most players don’t normally just pop out a dream for free, they would have to purchase this as well. A lot of us, have to pay for some of the names we want as well. So in a way there is not much of a difference to this argument. A lot of us don’t want to pay for a name, but in the end we do, because we want the name that much. That, or we spend our time every day trying to create the name, if no one else has it. Everyone would like to go out and get a brand new car for free. But we cant do that, we have to work for the things we want.

And that is why I decided to make this Petition for the Alt Traders of Furcadia. In Furcadia, regarding the alt trading business it is stated that…

---- “Alt-trading is not supported by us. The person who created a character is considered the owner, and at this point in time it is not possible to transfer the
ownership to another character, even if the password or the address is changed. If you change the email address or the password of a character that you did not create, you run the risk of someone accusing you of theft. If you use a character that you did not create (and thus don't own), you may lose it if the owner reports it as stolen. For this reason, we recommend that you only use characters that you created. This way, you will always be on the safe side.”

---- “Sharing an account with another individual does not limit your responsibility and does not release you from the terms outlined within this document. If an
account is terminated or deleted, Dragon's Eye reserves the right to terminate any other accounts that are owned or used by the same player.”

…which we all know pretty much. It’s a risky sort of thing to deal with. But a lot of us do it anyways to get the Alts we want. It is just another way we work towards getting them. And in such a way is it very much like going out to get a job, to earn money, to buy that brand new car.

Alt Traders, and Non-Alters are not very different from one another. We both want names, and we both have an equal chance of creating names. We both have equal chances of buying names from other people, and a lot of the Alt-Traders did buy their own names. There are some people out there that have good names, that are non-traders. We traders know for a fact we can not acquire these names, and we live with that fact. It’s a normal every-day
thing on Furcadia. Alt-traders, and non-traders are the exact same when it comes to owning what people think of as “good” names. And to suddenly take away the names we, alt-traders, have worked hard for, is not only wrong and unfair, but hypocritical.

So in closing this lengthy statement, the reason this Petition is here is so that the Alt Traders can sign to show that they believe we should be allowed to keep our names. Not only because we worked so hard to get some of them, but because we all have a right to try to get, and work for, the things we want. There will always be people out there that will argue and say we horde all the good names, and that everyone should be allowed to get them. Everyone should be allowed to get a new car for free, but that doesn’t happen. We worked hard for these names, and adore them. We should have the right to keep them!

Please sign so that others will know, that even though there are many who argue against us, we believe in our rights to keep our names regardless.

Alt Trading should be legalized. People do work hard to attain some of those alts. Real money is being used and real trades are being issued that should not be broken by someone claiming through text that it was not a valid trade. Trades between two people should be kept between those people, especially when purchases are being made.

I agree, if they take away or names I will stop supporting Furcadia as a whole, and in turn tell many of my friends to stop buying items from Furcadia. Such as digos and ports....>:(

Yeah, I'm all for keeping our alts. I don't think it's fair how Furcadia regards alt traders. : I'd say more but I just woke up and my brain is mush at the moment. Later. O.o

i believe having alts is a good thing..to an extent. i think there should be a reasonable limit to how many alts one person should have. i've seen alot of instances where one person will have almost 200 alts! that is way to mnay for one person. just think if that one person didnt have those 200 names..then 200 others would have the chance to get the character that they wanted.
