W.B. Saul High School in Philadelphia, PA has been exposed for such cruelties as:
- keeping beagle puppies isolated in individual cages up to 23 hours a day
- housing rabbits individually in empty plastic cages with no bedding and no enrichment materials
- gassing "pet" gerbils and mice with carbon monoxide
- selling week-old baby calves to veal farmers

So far, Principal Thomas Scott and Saul High School have made vague statements about improving things but have refused to detail any changes. I think this is the most ridiculous piece of shit I have ever heard. I'm currently going to the school and the animals are treated better then the kids some times. The horses are fed and taken care of like they were the equine science teachers own kids and the small animals have student farmer"s", yeah, thats right, more then one, who come in every day during the summer and play with, feed, and clean them so i have no idea how you can think they are mistreated

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! I Attended Saul (Class of '96) and the animals were NEVER mistreated. I have seen many working farms who treat their animals far worse than the animals are treated at Saul. Why don't you take a trip up there and look around before you start posting un-true rumors! Try the 1st Saturday in May - Country Fair Day. Would the school and farm open up to the public if they had anything to hide? Get your facts straight next time!

this is a damn lie the beagles go out and they get walked by the students they watch tv and listen to the radio. all the animals get environment enrichment. they reporduce the animals and when they are weaned off mom then they are sold to student who have to sign contracts. Cows are not been killed a week old do your f*%$ing reseach before saying shit about saul...

I attend Walter Biddle Saul High School and let me tell you this you assfags we do no such thing to our anumals they are all spoiled and fed consantly my classmates even spend thier weekends up at the school taking care of the animals, And if you come by our school and see the animals and assume that we are doing something wrong then go and actually get a life, we are a proud school and we would never do anything to our animals that isnt to keep them healthy and happy. One more thing...This Pettition was written by a Student or adult that came from one of our rival school whos asses we kicked and to get back at us hes trying to get all of you good people to sign a petition to get rid of one of the best schools in Philadelphia, and on a final note even during the summer we have lots of our students that spend thier sumers taking care of the animals so our schools animals and furry friends are never mistreated or kept in seperate cages we have 2-3 rabbits in medium sized cages with bedding so take that and back off

This is both disgusting and disturbing. I hope that anyone who is complicit in the torture and killings of any animal for any reason other than primal survival suffers a horribly cruel demise at the hands of a truly bizarre serial killer. Shame on you.

Our horses are not abused. They are so spoiled & they always have food. And if you think any different you are an idiot and need to find something else to do with your time like helping homeless animals! Find something that is actually true! Our horses are kept outside because they are pasture horses. They grow winter fur & it would be very hot & uncomfortable for them to be indoors unless it is absolutely necessary! As for our dairyfarm, go to any other dairy farm & you will find the same, maybe worse conditions. In case you didn't know, the barn is on Henry Ave., the cows need to be collored & chained to their stalls so they don't run on to Henry Ave. & get killed! And if one does, the teachers, farmers & students stop traffic to herd the cow back into the barn. Once again, GET ALL THE FACTS BEFORE YOU GO AROUND ACUSSING ANYONE ABOUT ANYTHING!!!!!

I am a graduate of Saul High school. In NO WAY are the animals mistreated! All of the students love and respect animals and are taught how to care for them properly. Yes, there have been in instances of animals who've been euthanized, and that was because there were two mice that had cancer. Would you have preferred they die in slow suffering?! We care for our animals so well, we have rabbits that are well over 20 years old. That is extremely rare, most even in the average loving home don't make it past 7. Saul is a wonderful institution that shows kids from an urban environment how to interact with animals they might never have been exposed. to. You all need to get a clue! Email me, and come have a tour of the school if you really want to know what's what!
