This is the best show I've seen in years and I have yet to miss an episode. It has an amazing cast and outstanding dialogue. Please don't take this away!!!!!!!!
There's a reason NBC continues to be third (and in some cases fourth)in the ratings war. They can't appreciate a good, intelligent, articulate show. Instead, NBC panders to the lowest common denominator with fantasies, game shows and their newest incarnation of a "comedy". Sadly, Studio 60 was doomed almost from it's amazing beginning. It seems the more hype "Heroes" enjoyed the more neglect Studio 60 endured. I'll miss this show. It was very funny to anyone who regularly reads a newspaper or managed high school education. It was a breath of fresh air in a sea of WWFs and Jerry Springers. NBC, you deserve your third place ratings.
The only show on tv I make a point of watching - surely that is valuable to advertisers trying to reach a 37 yr old with disposable income. An earlier time slot could save this show.
Studio 60 is one of two NBC franchises that I absolutely make time to watch (the other is Battlestar Galactica on NBC/Uni's SciFi Channel.
I would hope that the programming executives at NBC can realize the potential value of this show and give a another shot at finding an audience.
Shows like Studio 60 are rare and if given the proper advertising I belive it will generate an audience with the "right" disposable income.
Come on NBC! You saved other quality shows like ... hmm ... St. Elsewhere and I believe another blockbuster hit FRIENDS was a ratings disappointment in the beginning.
I LOVE this show. If I have time to watch only one show a week, it's Studio 60!!!!! And since I'm busy Monday nights, I watch it online later that week...because I LOVE this show!!!!!
please do not cancel the show. It is the only mature, smart and witty show on TV. The writing is EXCELLENT, and a fresh mix of comedy and drama we don't see often.
I don't watch heros. I tune in at 10 to watch Studio 60. It is a crappy time slot, but I love the show. Please no more reality shows, game shows, or CIS type shows. I need the witty fast moving smart writing.
What is wrong with you at NBC? Why in heaven's name are you putting this impressive show in jeopardy? Studio 60 is arguably the most intelligently written and finely acted shows to hit the airwaves since the early years of West Wing. You've got such a brilliant, envigorating cast, extraordinary, witty, timely and thought-provoking writing and directing -- clearly a recipe for success! This tells me the problem lies within the programming and promotion hierarchy of NBC. All the elements of a hit are there! Why did you not properly promote this show? It seems to me that once you made the cowardly determination to move it from its originally slated 9 pm Thursday timeslot, you pretty much gave up on it, dooming it to fail, despite contracting it for a full season of episodes. Stated simply, you lost your nerve to stand behind quality programming, assuming that your targeted audience would not appreciate its quality. And, sadly, I believe your move to contract a full season of episdes was a political one, made solely in order to keep in the good graces of Tommy Schlamme and Aaron Sorkin, one of the best teams in the industry, for future projects. Please, show some respect to the intelligent faction of your audience and give this amazing show the real chance it most certainly is due...In order to achieve a large viewer base, you need to leave it on, consistently week after week, same time slot, where people can count on finding it. And you at NBC really need to learn the value of the internet and cable on-demand and to use both tools to their fullest potentials. Other networks offer for FREE all episodes, not just the most recent, of their shows. This way, if people have any interest, they can play "catch-up" then switch back to tv. Finally, move it away from the comic-book "Heroes", which clearly is targeted at an entirely different audience, namely teens and early 20-somethings. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are all
In this world of dumbed down TV, Studio 60 is a magnificent departure that proves that TV networks can still produce quality works of "art".
One question: If you were to die tomorrow, would you want your epithet to read "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" or "Deal or No Deal"?
Man NBC is really dropping the ball on this one. I dont even watch Heroes, and i think given the right night and a chance to prove itself, Studio 60 can be the next Seinfeld. Alot of people didnt get the humor of that show either at first and look where it ended up. If Americans needs shows where the jokes are explained to them like 2 year olds then shame on America. Perhaps reality tv has finally dumbed down our nation enough to where people dont realize true entertainment.
This is my favorite show on TV right now. It is an intelligent, funny, show. Maybe the reason the Hero audience turns off Studio 60 is because it appeals to a different audience. Please give it a chance to find the large audience that will appreciate its quality.
Studio 60 is amazing. It is the only show I watch on television these days. Its fast paced, witty and ironic humor is amazing. I love it. At least move the time slot before giving it the axe!!!!
Come on NBC.
This is a GREAT show that just needs time to develop and grow. Please continue to support quality shows like you used to (remember Seinfeld...it didn't have much of an audience its first year either!)
This is one of the best shows on tv this year-I will not be watching the show that replaces it. I will find something else to watch-probably on cable-after Heroes. The Christmas episode is one of my all time favorite shows of any tv show that's ever been on, I put it up there on the list with the last episode of M*A*S*H and any episode of The West Wing. I watched it when it was repeated a few weeks later-and cried both times, it was so good. You don't get a chance to have writing of this caliber so soon after canceling the West Wing. It's such a shame that NBC isn't giving it a chance to make a full season run like it did for Seinfeld many years ago, I didn't even know Seinfeld existed until the second season it was on-and I was a faithful fan of that show. Please NBC, give it another chance.
If the networks, and NBC in particular, keep pulling quality shows mid-season rather than backing them with marketing and/or changing time slots if necessary, I will be signing up for HBO and Showtime and abandoning NBC altogether. Studio 60 is an intelligent, funny, show, full of great characters and great acting (most notably from Matthew Perry). Give it a chance. Start supporting your shows and respecting your audience -- or should I say audiences. This country is diverse in its tastes and its interests -- some of us like American Idol, some of us like shows like West Wing, Lost, and Studio 60 -- and the demographic that's drawn to the latter has a lot of buying power, to be perfectly frank. You may not care that you've repeatedly betrayed the loyalty of viewers of such shows as Studio 60 and The Nine -- but I'm sure you care about money.
Please do not cancel this show! It is smart and witty and my husband and I are very interested to see where these characters go...there are so many of them, they all need a chance to have their time in the limelight!
This show is amazing television! Though I'm not necessarily a supporter of Sorkin's choice to change the show from brilliant to romantic, I still consider myself a faithful viewer and will be for as long as this show is kept on the air. Please don't let me believe that all respect for amazing political drama has left network television executives. Be more like my namesake on the show, and, in this world of sensational, stupid tlevision, demonstrate to the world that smart, effective drama has not lost its commercial appeal.
If you cancel this show it will be an abomination!! My entire family LOVES this show and we watch it together on MOnday nights. We laugh, we cry, we thoroughly enjoy our time with the characters of Studio 60. WE will be VERY SAD if we loose one of the best shows on t.v.!
Please don't let this smart, funny show go the way of truly great shows like I'll Fly Away. There are more intelligent viewers out there than one might think.
The only shows we watch from NBC (on iTunes) are this one and 30 Rock. I can't beleive big media consistently cancels quality programming. I hope someone else picks this up.
PLEASE PLEASE keep this show on! I LOVE this show and have grown so attached to the characters. We need to know what happens with Jordan, Danny and the baby and of course Matt and Harry--these are such smart, funny witty characters and it will be a sad day for t.v. if they go away. Give the show a chance-I believe people are really settling into their characters and we are just starting to see glimmers of what is to come--I look forward to every Monday night with these characters.
I own iPods and Big cars and big expensive things, and if you keep this show, I will buy big expensive things from your big expensive advertisers. Also I am smart, which means I am rich, and therefore count more than other people do. Don't be stupid NBC. Listen to the smart and rich people.
I loved the West Wing and was upset when it was canceled. Now you are canceling another show of Sorkin and Schlamme. Please give it one more season for those of us who don't like the fast paced pithy wit of Tommy and Alan
Studio 60 was the first drama I've watched in many years. It's smart, funny, compelling. Let's not penalize intelligent viewers, even if there aren't very many of us! This show challenges the viewer - an amazing concept in broadcast television. And I'm a viewer in my 30's with disposable income, just looking to support companies which support good tv! Too bad NBC doesn't really have a "Jordan" running the network - someone willing to take a chance on smart instead of sensationalized shows.
I think that it is sad that because the network can't promote the show, they are going to cancel somthing that is witty and well written. There is a serious lack of quality television, and for those of us who *gasp* have a brain and a sense of humor, there is not much to peak our interest anymore. Studio 60 is the only show that I watch on NBC, and it seems that now it is no longer a network that I will be watching. They must enjoy losing veiwers.
This is the best show on NBC. If it would be givin a fair chance, this would surely be a hit. If you can show Deal Or No Deal 3 nights a week, then you can keep this well-written program on the air.
Come on, NBC. Find a better time slot; i.e. Tuesday 8pm or 9pm? This is intelligent writing, and is only getting started. Give (Studio 60)them a shot...
What do you have to do to get a well written show that lets it's audience think? Obvious NBC doesn't know. Lets hope CBS can pull another JAG and pick up season two and run away with another victory.
Bring it back and give it a 2nd season NBC. You know this is quality television. People are downloading it on itunes and the audience that tunes in for this show is one of the more affluent audiences you'll find in TV. If BMW and Apple support shows like this, I'll buy their products. Sell that to your advertisers.
What the show lacks in ratings, it makes up for in demographics. NBC: you've got a show that reaches an almost impossible-to-get but highly desired demographic.
This show is honestly THE ONLY thing on TV that I care to watch aside from the news and Food Network. This show has wit, intelligence, fast-pace, intriguing characters (that are just getting started!), and impeccable writing! I was a HUGE West Wing fan and can definitely see the parallels of work and it is an impeccable endeavor. Perhaps it hits too close to home for NBC Executives with portraying "inside" the industry. Well, our family has been a loyal NBC family for decades; however, I must admit that Studio 60 is the last show standing worth even tuning in for. NBC has lost its shine and if they actually cancel the ONLY INTELLIGENT show on TV, they will lose that audience (although smaller than other auidences) of intelligent people in this country who seek programming at times in the fiction world (you can only watch so much C-Span and Book TV). Funny, because I am in my 30's and most of my friends (all of whom have Masters Degrees) primarily only watch Studio 60 and those "nerd" channels that we have watched for years. Well, I don't need TV. I have family, friends, social life, books, coffee shops, etc. I sure hope that NBC realizes that cancelling The West Wing then within 2 years introducing another great Sorkin creation and cancelling it before it even has a chance to blossom will isolate many people who otherwise wouldn't bother with network TV. SAVE STUDIO 60!
Great show and great writing. Seems like the kiss of death as far as the networks are concerned unfortunately. Please don't cancel! Black Donnelys looks HORRIBLE and violent. You can and do offer much better fare. Studio 60 is worth keeping!
I personally love watching this show and will be very dissapointed if NBC takes it off the air. I can't believe that shows can be cancelled because some people are to stupid to watch them, and its no wonder a show doesnt get good ratings whe the network does not promote the show at all. Give the show a chance and put it on another night, don't cancel it.
Studio 60 may not have the highest ratings, but it's one of the wittiest shows on TV. NBC, should renew its commitment to quality and keep on the smart shows like studio 60.
im fourteen and i get stuck on shows for a long period of time and if this show doesnt come back on i will die. im being sarcastic of course but seriously.. ive cried about every single episode since after christmas and im obsessed. with every character. esp. matt and if i dont get to see what happens between him && harriet and his drug addiction as well as everyone else in the show i will never watch nbc again. jk but i wont for a long time. keep studio 60 baby. ;)
Studio 60 is the best show on TV today. Friends didn't gain a huge audience after just 2/3 of a season. Give this amazing show the chance -- and the promotion -- it deserves!
I watch 2 shows on TV, Studio 60 being one of them. Canceling the show will cause me to: 1. Boycott NBC for taking the one show worth watching off TV (not like they will really care about the viewing habits of 1 person anyway)
2. Possibly sell my TV - for fear of actually enjoying another TV show that gets canceled in the same manor. (in which case NBC REALLY wouldn't care about this "1 Person" ...who no longer owns a TV.
Please don't cance Studio 60. It's a wonderful, SMART show. I was an avid fan of The West Wing and I feel the same about Studio 60. Please give it a chance.
Where are the sponsors? merchandise targeting smarter audiences should line up to sponsor this fantastic show. I bet top execs of all fortune 500 cos. were watching. Do not let it die!!!
Whatever the reason behind the cancellation of this show, it can't be because it is poorly written, poorly acted or poorly directed. Indeed, it is one of the finest, most intelligent, witty, touching and thought-provoking program NBC, or any other network, has put on the schedule this year. So if it isn't because of a lack of quality, where must the failure lie? NBC, please don't penalize this show for not attracting viewers you haven't even attempted to reach. The world can live without one more "Law & Order." Show us that you're programming TV for more than just people with nothing better to do with their time. Keep "Studio 60" on the air.
My placebo for WW withdrawal. We have always enjoyed Sorkin's humor and pace. If you keep it, I will promise to slow my TiVo down enough to watch the sponsors' commercials.
