NBC execs please get your collective heads out of the sand. You cry about a splintered audience fleeing to cable, here is your chance to keep smart people watching YOUR smart show. Don't blow it. No more dancing and dealing and eating bugs on the island, please. If you want us to continue to seek other outlets for programming, keep your heads in the sand.
The NBC network is losing ground. Studio 60 is a GOOD thing; maybe you should THINK about what you are losing if you cancel it. Stand up for this show and PROMOTE it properly, put your money where your mouth is. Clearly people like this show, and if you do things right more people will watch it.
T-H-I-N-K NBC think.
Just because a show isn't riddled with cheezy sex and fart jokes doesnt mean people don't like it..this show is great...humorous in a very subtle way...don't give in to the same old same old and take away this show!
Please keep this smart show on TV, we don't need another stupid reality show, or another cop show. Studio 60 is new and fresh and quick and smart. Please keep it around.
Please, please, please don't cancel Studio 60. This is the only show I watch committedly, because I adore its excellent cast, quick repartee, and hilarious storylines. Please, give it a chance!
This is the best show on tv. It requires it's viewers to think which was one of the great things about the West Wing. This show will find it's audenience.
From the first promotion of this show I was hooked, even if it was only because of the tremendous talent of the cast. After watching, I was a certified addict. Studio 60 has some of the most clever and witty writing of any "drama" on television. There are plenty of American viewers that would rather have a show like this on the air rather than be forced to settle for a show based on a modern day Irish gang war. There is plenty of violence in the news to satisfy our bloodlust, I think it's time we try to stimulate the synapses in our brains and maybe we could kickstart some intelligence in this nation. This is all on top of my belief that the writers of this show, regardless of their beliefs, have actually portrayed Harriet Hayes very accurately as a Baptist that stands strong in hers. As a Baptist myself I found it encouraging that a show like this wasn't "Christian bashing" but instead was presenting both sides of the same arguments, which is something our government should look more into trying. I'm done ranting now, I'll put my sopbox back in the closet, but please do not remove this show.
This is a great show, you need to have it on earlier...remember Seinfeld was on at the same time as Friends..Seinfeld changed and did o.k.! Fox execs appear more creative...maybe you can sell them the rights to the show...I'll watch and I bet they would even promote the show with advertising and a more favorable time slot! You have a following here for a great show that will be in future syndication...I bet there are several shows that air throughout the week on NBC that could be reslotted or replaced.
I've enjoyed this show from the beginning. I think moving to another night is the right idea. I look forward to this show each week and set my tivo to snatch it so I can watch it when I get home. I wonder if the "ratings" system is truly accurate. It is smart comedy/drama. There are so few shows like that on now days, keep this one please!
I support Studio 60 in an television age where creativity in writing is discarded and networks sell their souls to tv that offers little creative originality, but instead embraces mediocrity of the human spirit and carbon copied plot lines. I respect NBC for taking a stand and becoming one of the few proponents of intelligent dialog and humor, albeit through not only Studio 60 but also in shows like "The Office". Please reconsider the decision to cancel Studio 60, give it the time slot it rightly deserves, and allow TV viewers the opportunity to watch excellence in television.
I'm an unabashed Aaron Sorkin fan for one reason and one reason only - he's earned it. But even if I'd never heard of him before, this show would have grabbed me and kept me for as long as it lasted. It's worth sitting through as many commercials as they want to insert, it's that good.
I think one of the reasons The West Wing continued to be one of the best shows on TV even after Sorkin stopped writing is that he created, defined, and molded the characters and the tone of the show so well that his successors had a head start in continuing its success - which they did admirably.
The lesson here - give those of us who take our television seriously something to look forward to each week - SAVE STUDIO 60!
Try another night before you decide to cancel and promote as a drama! This is a great show and a super cast!! (And I won't be staying with the network to watch Black Donnelly's.)
CBS owns Monday. Heros doesn't even win it's time slot. Why not give our show a shot on another night..
CBS Racks Up Another Monday Win
'Men,' 'Miami' grab big audiences
February 20, 2007
Charlie Sheen of 'Two and a Half Men'Fast National ratings for Monday, Feb. 19, 2007
Continued strong performances from "CSI: Miami" and "Two and a Half Men" propelled CBS to the top of the ratings Monday night.
CBS averaged a 9.2 rating/14 share for the night. NBC finished second at 7.7/12, a little ahead of FOX's 6.9/10. ABC, 5.3/8, came in fourth, and The CW brought up the rear with a 1.7/2.
The adults 18-49 title also went to CBS, which scored a 4.8 rating in the demographic. NBC, 4.5, was not far behind in second, and FOX took third at 4.4. ABC averaged 3.3 and The CW 1.1.
NBC easily won the 8 p.m. hour with "Deal or No Deal," 10.8/16. The race for second was a tight one, with FOX's "Prison Break," 6.0/9, edging ABC's "Wife Swap," 5.9/9. CBS was in the mix as well with "How I Met Your Mother," 5.9/9, and "The Class," 5.5/8. The CW went with "Everybody Hates Chris" and "All of Us."
"Two and a Half Men," 10.5/15, and "Rules of Engagement," 8.9/13, moved CBS into the lead at 9 p.m. NBC got an 8.2/12 from "Heroes," which beat FOX's "24," 7.9/12, for second. ABC held steady with "Supernanny." The CW averaged 1.5/2 with "Girlfriends" and "The Game."
At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" scored a 12.1/20, the night's best rating, for CBS. NBC's "Studio 60," 4.1/7, narrowly beat ABC's "What About Brian," 4.0/7, for
Please don't cancel! This show is really great. Too many shows take just your eyes and ears and a penchant for moronic slapstick humor. Studio 60 is clever, and witty, and you watch with your heart! What a shame if you cancel this excellent show.
Please do not cancel Studio 60, it is the talented show you have on air. I have a newborn, so sleep is very important but monday night is worth lossing an hour of sleep for Studio 60.
This is a wonderful, witty and intelligent show, please don't cancel it.
A small mercy would be to run the whole series, or offer a dvd release. Or air it over here in the UK...everyone I know who has seen it is hooked.
PLEASE!
I have very limited time for TV and unfortunately less for network TV. This is one of two shows I follow weekly either in its slot or online after the fact. I love the writing and have truly enjoyed the cast.
Isn't it ironic that one of the running commentaries that has been running thru Studio 60 is that the networks pander to the idiotic and that shows that are intellectual can't stay on the public airwaves? Was the West Wing the last stand for complex characters and plots? Are the only good series on HBO now? Must I watch old Episodes of UK TV to see real witty writing (Cracker, The Office, Couples?) The answer must be no, it has to be no, but I am afraid that if Studio 60 is taken off the air then it is no. I guess I will have Rome for good new episodes.
If the execs cancel this show, they have proven they are idiots. This happens to be one of the best written shows on TV right now. Why would you not promote it and give it a time slot where it had a decent chance?
Please, please NBC, give Studio 60 another chance to find its full potential audience on another night. Don't let it just fade away unfinished! I love the show and would watch it on any night it was available.
This is a great show. NBC ought to move it to other time slots to give it a better shot,(maybe the ER slot?) as well as promoting it a bit.
I can't stand Heros but watch this show faithfully.
Hang in thee with us, please
Typical, someone produces a clever, intelligent, well-written, well-acted program and it gets cancelled before it gets a chance to really blossom.
With the exception of the original Law and Order and Medium there is nothing else I watch on NBC.
You want this viewer? Simple. Don't cancel this show.
I don't watch "Heros" but I do watch Studio 60. I think you'll find that I do fit the older, high six figure profile. I can't believe that you don't have a advertising base to support our demographics.
I love Studio 60 and I would be very disappointed if it gets cancelled. The truth is, it's one of the best new shows on tv this year. Nothing else on NBC has grabbed my attention the way Studio 60 has!
This show has provided an extraordinary and powerful testament to the potential for quality writing and acting that can occur in this medium. Canceling an offering of this quality which has a growing audience is short-sighted. It also provides an enormous viewer population with another incredible and not altogether unexpected bit of irony form NBC.
I love this show and to be honest, I also watch another show at this time but record it and watch it and the commercials. Keep it on or at least end it so we know what happens
This is a great show with great characters, great writing, and superb actors with impeccable timing. I can't understand why it doesn't draw a bigger audience or why critics don't seem to like it!
The best show on television w/o cable, bar none. Intelligent scripts
seem to be a liability at NBC. I miss everything Aaron Sorkin does when it leaves the air, and hope that there's a way to save Studio 60. It's the most popular program in our household, and the only show I've taped this season when I couldn't be home.
Please keep this show for those of us who prefer intelligent television to reality shows. It's well-written, thought-provoking and boasts a terrific cast. NBC please listen to the fans.
This is the only show I watch. If I miss it I watch on the pc. That speaks to the quality of the show because I am not a loyal follower of anything on television. Most everything on is trash.
i cannot believe that nbc is willing to cancel this show. it's quite fun and intelligent! Please save Studio 60. I love NBC, so please keep this show, certainly you can cancel one of the run of the mill shows that you have. change the time slot if necessary, but please keep this show going, you have a great cast and a great team of writers, it's such a witty, intelligent blast of television!!!
Studio 60 is by far the best show on television right now. It is well written and has great story lines laced with sub-plots and humor. Keep it on the air!
